We went to Mattress Capitol looking for a king size bed. The sales person (Al) was very friendly and answered all of our questions. When we asked him why we should choose his store over the thers in the area he mentioned his excellence in customer service and the fact that he could guarantee delivery by Saturday. I amm 7 months pregnant and have a horrible mattress. My back has been in constant pain at night and I have becoe unable to sleep. Having a guaranteed delivery in 2 days sounded like a dream! We got rid of our mattress on Sat morning. Our new mattress never came. The sales rep, Al, called us to tell us there was a small stain on the mattress and he sent it back knowing that any stains would void our warranty if we ever wanted to exchange. Red flags went up then trying to understand how a new mattress could have stains but Al promised that we would recieve our and quot;newand quot; mattress the following Saturday and guaranteed a recent MFD on the mattress to prove that it was new. He also promised to immediately cut a check to us refunding all shipping costs and said we would recieve that in a couple of days. The check did not come and neither did the mattress. The excuse this time was that orders were incorrectly placed and we were told we recieved an email with details about this which we did not. I was so desperate for a new mattress I gave him one more chance. He said that the bed would be delivered to us today, Thursday. I took the morning off of work to wait for delivery and it never came! I am so upset knowing that I cannot even go to another store and buy another mattress bc the one thing Mattress Capitol DID do correctly was charge us $2364.68 on the spot for the mattress. Until and if I get the refund I cannot get a new bed elsewhere. I have asked to speak with the owners and was given no way to contact them, no phone number and no email. I tole Al that if I didn't hear from them within the hour I would call BBB. It has been over an hour, I won't hold my breath. DO NOT waste your time or money at Mattress Capitol!!

On June 3 I ordered an XL twin mattress, using a dealsavers' coupon. The mattress was to be delivered a couple weeks later, but when we had no call about delivery times when the day came, we called the store to find hear that the order came in the wrong size. The mattress was reordered and the same thing happened again--no phone calls from them, order again mixed up. I received only one call back in the weeks of dealing with this, but did find the salesman would answer emails. After this happened the second time, (and the salesman did not want to give me a free upgrade to a different brand mattress--I hoped a different brand would solve the problem) I asked for a refund. I was told there would be a check in the mail in 7 - 10 business days. When that time was up, I emailed again to get contact information from the district manager. I emailed him a couple days ago and have now today emailed on the website and am still waiting some response. I guess the Better Business Bureau will be my next move. Bottom line: look for reviews before jumping on a coupon!! Also, please note that Mattress Capital (in Wake Forest) is NOT the same as The Capital Mattress. When I emailed them by mistake, I had a phone call with in the hour to let me know it was a separate company!

I WALKED IN AND IMMEDIATELY A SALES ASSOCIATE CAME TO GREET ME. I TOLD HIM WHAT I NEEDED AND HE STARTED SHOWING ME WHAT THEY HAD THAT WOULD FIT MY NEEDS. HE WROTE UP THE SALE AND IT WAS DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY. THANK YOU

They offered a Groupon for $50 for $300... since we were in the market for a new mattress we decided to see what they had before we spent $50 on a Groupon. When we arrived we found that the low (sale) prices on their website were not available with the Groupon, and the mattress would have cost more had we purchased the Groupon. We were a bit miffed about the Groupon thing, but found a king mattress we liked for only $600 on sale (we already had a box spring of the same brand). We decided to look around a bit before purchasing it, even though the saleslady offered to include a free tempurpedic pillow that is normally $99. Delivery was also free. In all we went to four more mattress stores after that. They were all much more expensive than Mattress Capital, and the sales people were much more pushy. The lady at Mattress Capital had just let us browse without hovering, following us around, or even trying to sell us on anything. At the other stores it felt like we were buying a used car. At Mattress Firm they even marched us directly to the crappy mattress at the back of the store when we told them the price of the one we liked at Mattress Capital. When I say crappy mattress, I mean the very basic ones they don't even have on display, they just stand them up on end like books. We went back to Mattress Capital a couple days later to make the purchase. The same lady was there, and she remembered us. She gladly gave us the free pillow without any hassle. We were in and out in about 20 minutes, with the mattress scheduled for delivery the next day during a window of 4pm -8 pm. The store is right around the corner from our home, you can even get there just by driving through neighborhood streets. Because of this she warned that the delivery truck might deliver to us on their way back to the store, so it could be late when they arrived. She said they would call us 30 minutes before they came. The good and bad of the delivery: no phone call, but they came at 3:56pm. They brought the mattress in and hauled our old one away, everything went smoothly. We now have a new mattress and are very happy with our purchase.
