Raleigh Premium Cabinets

I had looked at and begun the process of selecting kitchen cabinetry at a big box store and did not feel good about it. I searched Angie's List for a recommended supplier and found Raleigh Premium Cabinets that had a long list of satisfied customers and decided to investigate. We found Ted Fraser available and found that after seeing his products that we would work with him. He assured us that once the project began that he would be finished in 2 weeks time. The price for the cabinets was a few thousand dollars less than those of poorer quality at the big box store. Indeed, the cabinets were taken down on Monday and the new ones were installed by Thursday.. Giovanni arrived each day bright and early and worked steadily until 6. He was thoroughly professional in his demeanor, respectful of us and of our home, and a skilled craftsman in his work. When asked, he offered suggestions and guided me in the selection of hardware and in the ultimate placement of cabinetry making the process far more streamlined than if I had been left to my own devices. Each day Ted stopped by to check the progress of the installation and offer whatever assistance necessary. I felt that he had a good handle on the project which in turn gave us peace of mind. Ted was knowledgable, patient, and easy to work with. I have recommended him to 2 other potential customers and I would highly recommend Raleigh Premium Cabinets to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen. I failed to mention the quality of the cabinets. One of our appliance installers had been a cabinet maker and voluntarily commentated on the thickness of the cabinets and of how well they were constructed. What Is important to me is the integrity of the construction, and I do believe that what we have fulfills that quality well. There are a couple of tweeks yet to be done and I will report on these after they are done. All in all I do not believe that you could do better than to do business with Ted.

I never even heard back from them, I may have made the mistake of including too much detail in my query, and it may have been a type of job they didn't want to take on.
I have a "Drop In" stove/oven that is original to the house, the oven died, and we want to replace it with an upright unit.  It will require modifying the cabinets slightly.  Nobody wants to quote that kind of work.  They all want to sell me a whole kitchen worth of new cabinets for thousands of $$$.

Ted was very professional and courteous in providing an estimate and helping us make our selection. Before ordering, he came out with his installer to verify dimensions and to work out any unforeseen installation issues not on the floorplan. I requested delivery a week or so out, and he worked very hard to meet our needs. That goes a long ways in the construction world!
Upon delivery, his installer made sure to put down blankets underneath his work area in order to protect our floors from damage in. David cleaned up any shavings or scraps daily and treated our home like his.
His installer worked slowly, but did so in order to make his work precise and superb quality. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and you could tell he enjoyed his job by his craftsmanship. If something like a drawer glide was a little off, he made sure to have it perfected by the time the job ended.
The build quality of the cabinets, for the price, is hard to believe. Cabinetry is built from cabinet grade plywood, with sturdy plywood corner braces, and the finish is excellent - they are built like a tank. The installer can add moulding, brackets, posts, and other accents that add a lot to the standard. We even added soft close drawers and doors!
Overall, they did not meet my expectations, but exceeded them. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to install new cabinets.

Ted is the consummate professional.  All three jobs went very well, and I highly recommend Raleigh Premium Cabinets.

Terrific!! Ted worked with us for over a year to help design and price a variety of cabinets for our kitchen and 3 bathrooms. Once we were read, Ted was efficient in our getting us a final estimate as well as ordering the cabinets. He was patient and helpful, giving us reminders and suggestions in our renovation. David installed the cabinets and was a master craftsman, ensuring the trim details of the cabinets tied in uniformly with our existing wall trim. David was punctual each day he was in our house and cleaned up each day. David also took the time to show me how to remove the drawers correctly and use the touch up sticks in case we obtained nicks on wood. After installation we had a couple of loose ends and Ted and David were quick to solve them. We will be using them again when we get ready to do the other 2 bathrooms. Our family highly recommends!

We randomly called Ted after looking around at Lowe's and talking to a "full-service" kitchen guy.  We were looking at $35K or more to remodel our kitchen, plus it sounded like lots of disruption and 6 weeks or so.
We met with Ted and he told a different story, he thought that it would be $20K tops and most everything would be done in 2 weeks, with the rest taking another 1-2 weeks.  Of course Ted was not going to act as the contractor, so I would have to coordinate all the subs myself or do some work myself.  Ted would provide the cabinets at a good price and a high quality product.  Oddly, we liked the fact that he only offers 4 options (colors included), it made a big part of the process easy for us.  I suppose if we were more interested in lots of options, this would have been a negative. 
Ted also is good to recommend people (subs) that he trusts, so if he said "use these guys", we did not spend any time looking around.  In the end Ted recommended the installer (Dave), the granite people (NCO Custom Marble and Granite), and the tile/floor guy.  They all worked out very well, punctual, quality work, and what seemed like a fair price. 
We had to find the plumber (nightmare, had to fix myself), the electrical (way too expensive, did it myself), and I did the painting myself.  This is no knock on Ted, just information that you will have to find some subs yourself if you do a remodel like ours. 
In the end, we spent just about $19K in total, with handling the tear-out, electrical, drywall, painting, and some plumbing myself. 
Ted was good to talk through some of my decision points with doing the work myself, but I did pay him to do that part.
All in all, we love our new kitchen and it was not too bad, 3 weeks of hard work and done.
   

Ted's claim that his cabinets are as good as Kraftsmaid  but half the cost was hard to believe at first, but I soon discovered that he was NOT exaggerating.  I love the birch cherry-stained mission style cabinets I selected.  They are indeed good quality at half the price of others.  AND, delivery time is half that of others.
Ted was SO helpful and patient.  I'm a pushover but my better half would test the patience of job but Ted was very considerate and answered all his questions.
If you're smart and love a bargain like moi, you can't go wrong with Ted and Raleigh Premium cabinets.   Thank you, Ted for making my kitchen remodellng so much easier.

There are so many great things to say about Ted (the cabinet guy) and David (the installation guy). Their quality and price were by far the best of any other companies we researched. We were quoted two to three times more for the same features elsewhere, and had almost resigned ourselves to the fact that our kitchen renovation would simply be outrageously expensive.
Meeting Ted in the showroom and being able to see the cabinets in person, as well being able to ask questions, was a great experience. Ted was incredibly knowledgable and very straightforward, pointing out the benefits and drawbacks to certain designs, and providing ideas for other ways we could save money.
As great as the cabinets may be, if they are not installed properly the end result will clearly be sub-par. David did an exceptional job - he is a true craftsman and artisan in every sense, going above and beyond what we expected and asked for. We couldn't have asked for a better person to install the cabinets and make them shine.
The only hiccup in the process was some slightly scratched and dented doors and drawers. Although David worked tirelessly to fix these issues for us, we eventually asked them to be replaced with new ones, and were slightly concerned how that request would be received by Ted. Despite our concerns Ted put us completely at ease, ordering brand new replacements which fixed all the issues and have turned our kitchen into the best room of the house.
We couldn't be happier with the cabinets Ted provided, and with the care and attention to detail David took when installing them.
Definitely recommended, and we'll certainly be using them again for our cabinet needs.

Ted Frazer was extremely helpful as we selected new cabinets. He answered many, many questions and was very patient as we hesitated and changed our minds more than once before making a decision.  He gave us good information about prices and options.  He made suggestions, but was never pushy.  He made recommendations for other services needed for the remodel and gave me helpful hints about the process.
The lead installer David Reyna is a genuine craftsman. He was efficient and professional. He kept me informed about progress. He identified and prevented potential problems, and went above and beyond to address several issues that were caused by my mistakes in planning.  The cabinets look great because of his attention to every detail. 

Ted Frazer quoted a price and delivered an exceptional product. He called to verify everything, delivered everything on time, and if I ever need him I am sure he will be there.
The installer he uses (Dave Reyna) is extremely polite, extremely neat and extremely professional. Everything lines up perfectly.

In short everything went perfectly. I was surprised, the cabinets were installed with almost no mess. All the cuts were taken out of the house and done in his trailer/workshop, a blanket was put down to protect the cabinets before installation and all the cabinets were meticulously vacuumed when finished.
Everything exceeded all my expectations.

We purchased kitchen cabinets and also a matching bath vanity for my mom's condo. They were so unbelievably great to work with that I'd recommend them to everyone. Working with these guys made the stressful renovation process so much less stressful. Ted is a true professional and really great to work with. He is always quick to respond to any inquiry which says a lot about his dedication to his clients. He was very low-key and didn't try to over-sell us. He offered his opinion about what was needed for the space. He also recommended a granite company that we decided to use for countertops. David, the installer, is someone who takes his craft very seriously.  He really wanted to make sure we were happy with the result. He offered to build a custom mirror for us in the bathroom that matched the vanity. I couldn't have found a more beautiful mirror in any big-box store. They really care about their work and their clients. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

We had other quotes from other cabinet suppliers.  Some were close in price, while others were way more expensive.  The best deal about this service  was the simplicity of choice.  Ted lets you know what are the most popular choices and then because of that simplicity, he can save you $$ when it comes to the cabinets as he has a streamlined inventory.  What you get are all wood boxes, soft closing doors, hardware, and cabinets that work very well with very strong slides to hold those heavy pots and pans. We had a lot of work done, and his installer, Dave Reynas, also did a great job being patient with all the odds and ends and braving the bad weather to continue to get the job done. Dave was also careful to make sure that everything was lined up and worked before he left the job.   
Are there higher end cabinets out there, I am sure there are, but if someone wants a really good quality cabinet that works well and fits a budget, then I think these guys are a great choice. I scoped out many other cabinet providers, including all the big box folks, including Ikea. At the end, it boils down to how much customization a person needs and what can they do to make the kitchen work for them. We happen to cook and bake a lot so overall storage and flow within a kitchen is key for us. In this case, I cannot be happier with the cabinets. We have more space than what we need and  with the incorporation of slides, drawers, and pantires, even our children are happy being in the kitchen.  Ted and Dave both  offer up many good suggestions, and their attention to the client's happiness is key to the whole thing.

Our experience with Raleigh Premium Cabinets was very positive.  Ted Frazer was very responsive to our needs -- before and after the sale.  He did an outstanding job helping us determine how we wanted our new cabinets to look, how to make the most use of space, suggesting creative ideas we hadn't considered, and keeping everything within our budget.  We also really liked to quality and look of the product compared to other cabinets we had been looking at.  We never felt pressure from Ted to make a decision and his experience and suggestions were very helpful and much appreciated.  
Once we signed the contract, Ted was very good to work with to schedule our install.  He assured us we would be happy with his installer, who he explained, took pride in his work.  We had a particularly interesting situation in which our builder installed some custom drawers in one of the walls of our kitchen.  It was a clever idea, but they were very deep drawers and proved to be less practical over time as they become a dumping ground for "stuff". 
David, Ted's installer definately took pride in his work.  He arrived on time, was flexible with our schedule, paid great attention to detail and truely does have a creative flair which we appreciated. 
Our old cabinets were taken down in no time -- David even went the extra mile to hang some of them in our garage -- something that would have taken me at least a day -- took him very little time.
David also did a fantastic job with the trim work around the kitchen, creating a truly custom look and flair of distinction.  We were also incredibly impressed with how he addressed the space that housed the old, deep disfunctional drawers, replacing them with dual cabinet doors that open to new functional pull out draws.  After collaborating with us, David installed each new pull out drawer at different heights to accomodate different needs.  Now we can put tall items, such as a mixer and blender on the bottom pull out, and short, smaller items, such as pens, stapler, etc on the top pull out.  It has really worked out great.
During the install, Ted would stop by to check on things, answer questions and resolve any minor issues that arose.  We we've very pleased with how Ted and David worked together to resolve things that invariably come up during a big project, and do it all in such a timely manner.Once the work was done, we had a few "punch down" items that required attention after the job.  David arranged a convenient time for us to stop by and address them. 
Overall, we were very happy with the entire experience!  We would definately use Raleigh Premium Cabinets again.  They are focused on what they do, they do it really well!  We would also recommend them to anyone considering similar work.

I contacted Ted Frazer and he promptly came out to our house and gave us an estimate to replace all our kitchen cabinets.  I was so impressed that I also asked him to provide me with an estimate for new wall cabinets in our laundry room and double vanity in our master bathroom.  My husband and I then went to his showroom to view the cabinets in person.  They are very high quality cabinets--raised panel sold wood doors and full extension dovetailed soft close drawers.  Although I was very hesitant to undertake a kitchen renovation, Ted made everything as smooth and easy as possible.  He went above and beyond and helped me through parts of the renovation that had nothing at all to do with the cabinets.  Ted is the most customer-service friendly person I have ever done business with and I highly recommend Raleigh Premium Cabinets!  The installers were great and the miter work on the cabinets' crown molding is exceptional!   We are extremely satisified with our cabinets and our experience with Raleigh Premium Cabinets.

I could not have asked for a better experience. I have been using my condo as rental property but now I am ready to move in and wanted to update the kitchen. I am currently living in Virginia and Ted worked around my schedule to arrange to meet me when I was in town. He measured my kitchen, laid out a design that included everything I wanted and gave me an estimate right then. He scheduled the installation for the next time I would be in town. The installer, David, showed up right on time and went straight to work. He was very efficient and is truly an artist...believe me for this kind of job you want a perfectionist. What more can I say. The cabinets are beautiful, solid wood, and so much more reasonably priced than anything at the big box stores. Great job guys!! Thanks again.

We priced cabinets from multiple locations - big box and custom shops.  Owner (Ted Frazer) came to the house when he said he would and gave us a complete price within 24 hours.  Ted was always upfront and honest with us, and the cabinets look great. 
What topped off the experience was the installer (David Reyna).  David works with Ted and was able to make modifications that give our kitchen a true custom look.  I definitely  recommend using Ted and David for the upgrade and install of new cabinets.

We recently did a minor kitchen remodel that included cabinet replacement, new countertops, and a new sink, faucet, and range. We obtained three estimates for the cabinets, one from Lowe's, one from a cabinet refinisher (Bull Restoration), and one from Raleigh Premium Cabinets. Lowe's came in at over $13,000 just for the cabinets, and that was for their most economical line, which would have been a lower quality that what we previously had. Bull Restoration was about $8000 to refinish the doors, drawer fronts, and frames of the cabinets. It was really a no-brainer to go with Raleigh Premium Cabinets, which, for the same price as refinishing, gave us a comparable estimate for all new cabinets and hardware in an updated style we liked, solid wood, and some nice features we didn't have, such as soft-close drawers, no middle frames on the double cabinets, end panels on the exposed sides and island, and more space. We replaced 19 cabinets.
I recommend Ted Frazer, the owner of Raleigh Premium Cabinets, because he gave us exactly what we wanted for a great price. His installers were excellent and arrived as scheduled. I was not at home over the two days when they did the work, and each day I was pleased with what I came home to. They got all the cabinets installed in just two days. Ted suggested some key improvements to our layout, including a bigger island and converting our seldom-used kitchen desk into a butler's pantry with more storage and a higher countertop. He also recommended selling our old cabinets on craigslist after his installers took them out, which we hadn't planned to do but did, and got $700 for them.
It is rare that a job will turn out exactly as you hope, but I have no complaints and am really happy I went with this company. I usually dislike salespeople, but Ted is low-key, helpful, and knows what he is doing, and I liked him a lot.

Our experience with Ted and his crew was great.  We visited his showroom in Raleigh and picked out the cabinets and hardware we wanted.  We discussed the option of having Habitat come out and remove the cabinets for a small fee, but I opted to remove them myself.  Note to other DIYers, removing the cabinets wasn't overly difficult, but it was a little time consuming and probably worth the $300 for the removal.  I did donate the cabinets to Habitat who will still come out and pick them up for you even if you don't have them do the removal work.
Ted's installation crew worked for 3 solid days installing the new cabinets.  They did a great job and were very detailed about getting everything right.  We had one issue with the height of a cabinet but it was easily resolved after I mentioned it.  The crew cleaned up after themselves and David was a fun guy to chat with and have around.  He was helpful in suggesting tweaks to the installation which gave it a custom feel even though our cabinets were all stock sizes (for example the refrigerator box).  We are extremely happy with the kitchen now and would use Ted and team again any day.

Had a great experience with Raleigh Premium Cabinets!  Love our new cabinets and granite counter tops.  Ted was very easy to work with and the installers did a great job as well.  Never thought we could afford new cabinets and so glad I found out about this company on Angie's List!!

After reading other reviews on Raleigh Premium Cabinets, we decided to schedule an appointment to meet Ted and see his product. We were impressed with the quality of his product and liked Ted's laid back approach (no presssure sales). Ted met us at a convenient time for us in his showroom and at our house providing suggestions for various kitchen designs. To save on cost, we did not hire a designer but came up with our own design and could not before more pleased. Ted was responsive from my first inquiry to my last. Always responding quickly to any questions we had along the way. This is a big investment and we are glad we chose Raleigh Premium Cabinets! Ted also has references for general contractors as well as granite contractors. You will not be disappointed with NCO Granite. Great selection and awesome craftsmanship. Even other contractors have complimented us on our granite. Ted's installers were quick and very conscientious about their work. The install went exactly as planned and we could not be more pleased with the final product. If you are looking to remodel your kitchen, be sure to meet with Ted at Raleigh Premium Cabinets first! You will be happy with the end product!!

It was great. The service was painless, relatively fast, and good.

It went great all as planned.  Ted came personally to see the kitchen and gave us an estimate on the spot for what we wanted:  totally new all wood cabinets and a few changes to optimize our kitchen.  I loved the birch light finish wood, he included molding to our lower and upper.  We thought about it for a few days and then decided to go with Ted and his cabinets.  We were scheduled in 3 weeks time and they were here exactly on the date/time as scheduled.  Danny is a total professional and did a great job installing the cabinets.  The second day he worked on the trim and upper molding, installing the pull out trays and finishing all the details for a fabulous look.  The cabinets are great qualify, beautiful all wood and we are already getting lots of compliments on them.We appreciated Ted coming over to see the kitchen, helping us with some suggestions and then giving us the cost right then and there.  The price never changed and all went very smoothly.  I should be in touch when I am ready to update the cabinets in my bathrooms.  Thank you to Ted and Danny!
