Simply great!   Service man came within an hour of my call.  He had excellent customer relationshionship.  These people well deserve an A+.  I'm keeping their name and number in case I have a need for the future.  I highly recommend them to anyone needing large appliance repair.

Our seven-year-old Kenmore dishwasher stopped filling with water. Over Thanksgiving, inconveniently enough, we had to wash our dishes by hand. I called Capital Appliance on Monday morning, the 28th. An appointment was made for three hours later. The repairman, Josh, arrived on time, accurately diagnosed the problem (malfunctioning fill valve) and offered to fetch the part, return with it and complete the repair within the hour. I was agreeable, and he did as he said he would. He fixed the dishwasher for the amount that he estimated it would cost, and took 10 percent off the service call cost when I presented an Angie's List certificate. Capital Appliance's promptness, efficiency, and professionalism were impressive, and i would recommend this vendor to anyone needing to having an appliance repaired.

He was fabulous.  Everything went great.  He was so nice and very friendly.  My husband was here at the time.  He delayed going into work because he wanted to talk to him about it.  They answered the phone and took my call.  They said they'll have someone out tomorrow, which they did.  They came out the next day at 9:30 as we had discussed on the phone.  It was wonderful that they came right away.

I called this company after reading great reports on Angie's List.  My washing machine was full of water and clothes and had stopped working at 11 am the day before Thanksgiving, and I had 3 loads of laundry to do before our family drove out of town.  They told me over the phone to unplug the machine and try it again in an hour, and if that did not work, to call back and they would come out that day. When that did not solve the problem, I called back and they said they would be out between 3 pm and 5 pm that day.  Nobody showed up or called.  I tried to reach them shortly after 5 pm (figured I'd give them some grace time), and all I got was an answering machine.  I tried again several times to no avail, leaving several messages practically begging them to come out.  Five days later on Monday morning, after Thanksgiving weekend, I called them back and they had no idea what happened.  After explaining that I was up doing laundry at several friends houses at midnight before Thanksgiving and that I couldn't believe they had not given me at least a courtesy call, their only explanation was that the three days before holidays are like Black Friday they are so busy.  I told him I understood, but if that was true, they should have at least told me they were too busy to come out; as it was, they did not call or show up and I was completely left in the lurch, when I could have had all day to contact another company instead.  He finally apologized and said he would look into it and find out what happened.  Five days too late!  Pre-holiday or not, the customer service was completely unacceptable, and I did not even receive an apology phone call after the weekend, despite the fact that I had left desperate messages on their answering machine Wednesday evening, still hoping they would make it out to my house.
Response from Capital Appliance Repair
"I don't remember it quite this way. You did call at 11:00 but I told you it was unlikely we could get someone out before Monday due to the Holiday rush (everybody is getting their stove repaired that's been out since the summer) and if you needed a control board we did not have time to pick up the board and go to North Raleigh. But all was not lost because as often as not the board just needed to be reset which requires the washer to be unplugged for an hour or two. You did that to no avail and wanted someone out immediately. I'm sorry but we were unable to do the service within that time frame. And by the way, the repair was obviously a very high priority for you, did you not call another company? Weren't they able to help you on such short notice, the day before Thanksgiving? Apparently not! I just hope you left them a bad review as well."

Called company at 11:00 a.m. to see if they could repair my dryer. My phone call was answered promptly and I was asked about the problem and the make of the dryer. I was told a repair call could be made that day between 12 and 2. The technician arrived at 12:15 , diagnosed the problem and had the part needed to complete the repair. He explained the problem and approximated what the final cost would be. He completed the repair and also checked my outside vent and was finished in under 30 minutes. It was a very good experience and I would use them again and have suggested them to other friends.

He was called, promptly responded and was punctual.  He was very professional and honest and clearly was not out for the money. Our washer could not be salvaged and he helped us avoid a short term remedy that would have not been cost efficient in the long run. Much appreciated.

When the repair man arrived, he was very nice and knowledgeable.  He said it would cost $350 to fix it and he said I would be better off to get a new machine, which I decided to do.  My problem is them charging me $75 to tell me it would cost $350 to fix it.  Why couldn't they have told me this on the first call I made to them instead of coming to the house to tell me to collect an easy $75.  I told them it was an error message I was getting and that I had read it is a common problem with this brand of washer's control board.  They should have said, this control board replacement is a $350 job, which we can do or you may want to look at buying a new machine.  Just let us know if you would like it fixed.  They have me as a customer.
Response from Capital Appliance Repair
"The customer seems to be upset that we couldn't trouble-shoot his appliance over the telephone. Although error messages are an important indicator, they are by no means 100% accurate. For example, a loose wire, a corroded ribbon could produce a false error code. If member was looking for an estimate on the board cost I would have been glad to quote him, but he never asked. Furthermore he could have called a local parts store or looked the board up on the internet very very quickly, but he wanted to know for sure before he purchased a brand new appliance... and that's why he called us. We charged a reasonable fee for driving to his house and diagnosing the problem. I'm sorry it wasn't something minor and I'm sorry the customer wasn't satisfied but we have to charge for our time and the expense of going out. Please call someone else in the future, maybe they'll work for free."

They did a good job. They came the same day just an hour or two after I called, fixed my refrigerator, and charged me a decent price. I was happy with it. They were prompt and courteous. I thought the price was very reasonable. They were very punctual. In fact, he got here before I did. I would have to look at my American Express bill. I really don?t recall just what I paid. Whatever the price was at that time, their price was very good comparatively speaking. I would recommend them to anyone.

My 6 year old electric clothes dryer stopped drying my clothes, so I checked Angie's List and called. The gentleman who took my call was professional, friendly and so thourough that he even asked for the model number so that he could be sure to have the correct part with him and the appointment was set. He called to advise he was 10 minutes away, arrived on time, made the repair, and suggested some basic maintenance that I could do. It was a great experience, I recommend them fully, and should I need appliance repair, this is the company I will call.

I waited on the service call for two hours which was not too unreasonable; however, around 5 pm the service person called and when I described the failure code on my GE Oven, he walked me through the reset process which I could find nowhere on-line. The unit reset and we were both happy. He didn't have to work late and I got a free repair except for my time. The service man was very forthright that if the unit didn't reset that the replacement part would cost about as much as a new unit. I appreciated the advice and honesty that doing the repair was not necessary to pay $500 for a 4 year old $700 oven. I liked the honesty of their service people. I just wish he would have called to let me know his day was running so far behind, I could have understood in their line of work. I give them two thumbs up and will use them again.

My refrigerator had stopped cooling and the tech (Sid) figured out that the board was fried. However, he gave me a huge estimate for the part ~ $400. Since it was a large sum, I decided on pause and research before going with it. I am glad I did not go by his estimate. It turned out that a brand new board was only ~ $165. So he was overcharging me significantly. I called the owner and left a message, and have since not heard back. I wasted $70 on their service charge. Would not recommend them.
Response from Capital Appliance Repair
"To start with, we do not charge $400.00 for parts that retail for $150 or $165 (member quote two prices). We called the model number in and was misquoted on the part cost from our vendor. It's rare that it happens but it can happen. Now, I never heard a thing about this until the customer called about a week ago (today is 7/1/11) shouting down the phone demanding a refund. I'll give the guy a refund, no problem. But it would have been nice if he would have called me with his concerns and I could have sorted it out very quickly. I'm not in business to rip people off so again we could have sorted it out quickly. But I guess the man assumed I'm a thief and called somebody else. Fine, but mistakes can happen. That's what happened here and by golly that's all I can say."

Arrived on time, performed the service as expected, and also offered some advice on preventive maintenance. The tech also cleaned up and set the dryer back in place. The price was as quoted. Very clean and professional and would definitely recommend them.

The fan in the refrigerator had stopped running (I had had this same thing repaired about 5 years earlier). The technician restarted the fan, and told me that about half the time that is all that was needed. Unfortunately it stopped again, but he returned when I called and replaced the fan.

Clint, the Bosch dishwasher technician was very polite and knowledgeable. He made and accurate estimate of the service including the part needed. Ordered the water valve needed while he was here. He gave me an expected delivery date of the part (2 days) and said he would call when the part came in. He called me when the part came in and offered to come over that evening to install it. I asked if he could install it the next day and he gave me an approximate time. He showed up on time the next day and installed the part without any problems. He was also very informative about the operation of a Bosch dishwasher as they are very different from other manufacturers. In fact I found that only a few service shops will work on a Bosch dishwasher. I love my Bosch, it is now cleaning better than ever.

I've had the GE Dishwasher for about 10 years and all of a sudden it stopped working. Adam arrived on time and quickly discovered that the dishwasher needed to have its front panel electronic board replaced. It would have been probably more profitable for him to replace the board and come back when we had another problem. Instead, Adam mentioned that due to the age of the dishwasher we could face additional problems with other components. Adam suggested we price a new washer and decide if it made sense to fix our current dishwasher. He also suggested the most reliable brands. Adam also showed me how to clean the washer's soap dispenser. Overall, I just found the company I will use to maintain all my appliances. They are honest and care about service.

Dale is a very nice man and handled this request as best as he could. I previously wrote a negative report on his business and said I wouldn't use his services again. What I SHOULD have said was I will use Dale but not the serviceman who came to do the replacement. I am still dealing with Dale and when necessary will continue to do so.

My washing machine was making terrible noises when washing clothes. I found Cary Discount Appliance Repair on Angie's List and gave them a call. We set up an appointment and they arrived during the 1 hour interval they said they would arrive. The repair man was able to quickly diagnose the problem and gave me a quote to repair the problem. When I mentioned I was thinking of replacing the machine instead of repairing, he gave me several recommendations of brands to consider and other brands to avoid. In addition, my washing machine is in a small area behind a bi-fold door - the repairman was very careful in removing and replacing the door, which I really appreciated. I was pleased with the service and would call them again. I wound up replacing the machine instead of repairing it.

terrible! Serviceman came 2hrs late for appointment then when arrived said it was going to take several hours to replace so would have to return the next day. The owner, Dale, knew it would take that longand even told me so.I agreed to him coming back as he didn't show up until almost 6 PM. The seviceman returned the next day, again later than Dale told me. He complained the whole time about hating working on that particular refrig. It was a brand he disliked because of the way they mfg their appliances. After about an hour or so the one door he replaced was not level to the other door and he insisted he could not make it even. They were supposedly matched up when mfg and he couldn't do it. I told him to put the orig door back and I would call the mfg. He was very happy to do it because then he wouldn't have to work on the wiring and such. A waste of two days waiting and then having someone complain about doing it. No thank you.
Response from Capital Appliance Repair
"This was a warranty call through Service Power. We typically don't work on LG appliances because we have limited expertise due to the fact LG makes their parts almost impossible to acquire. But we agreed to the call; our first mistake. I agree we were late and that's a legitimate criticism. And the tech complaining about having to work on an unfamiliar appliance is inexcusable as well. But the work done was not sub par. We put the door on, the only way it would go on. It was about a quarter inch higher than the other door, but in our opinion it would settle. The member didn't want to hear this and told us to take the door off, which we did. Let me just say this, I didn't manufacture this fridge, I just replaced the door. I'm sorry you're not happy and I'm especially sorry I took the call."
