The reason I gave the vendor a C (which I regard as "neutral" or "N/A") is because I have no idea what the retail cost of refrigerant is from other sources or service providers. It's the same as saying, "I don't know whether the cost was high or low or average for the community." Got a great deal on diagnostics through Angie's List offer ($29 vs. usual $75 - $100 cost). Vendor responded within 2 hours of my placing the order through Angie's List, set up appointment for next day. Tech arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the problem, charged the refrigerant line, and was done within about 15 minutes. It's been a month, and for far the charge appears to be holding quite well. I would recommend this service to anyone. If something goes wrong with the A/C again, I will definitely call them up for a follow-up.

It was all right. I thought they are a little too pricy though but I don’t think it was really like their company was pricy, I just thought it was, in general, I haven’t had somebody else do that kind of work wouldn’t have been too expensive. I just went and did it myself. They were very nice and very helpful. They came out and did this little Angie’s List deal. They came out and diagnosed the problem and they were very friendly about it and very upfront about the price of their stuff. The thing I didn’t like was the cost for them to put a new thermostat that didn’t match the price for the thermostat. They wanted a lot of money for a thing that is simple to do.

I called these guys when, at the very last minute, I realized the air conditioning was not working on our new house the day before we were set to move in (it is a fixer-upper). Being the busy season, several other companies were quoting several days to get out to the house, which wasn't going to cut it for me. These guys fit me in that same day. They did show up past their estimated arrival time, but I'll take it for same-day service. We have two AC units - one that was not working at all, and one that was working but not cooling properly. We bought the $29 service fee coupon, and from there they made some fixes. They got the one running that wasn't running at all, and the second one they added coolant to. They did a good job of explaining the problem and what other services we might need in the future - but weren't pushy about suggesting we do them now or suggesting we needed to spend major bucks to replace the systems all together. I felt the price was a little on the expensive side, but for same day service it was worth it. I would hire these guys again in a pinch, but if not in a time crunch, I would check out other estimates too.

Employee arrived on schedule and quickly identified that the large capacitor had failed resulting in the fan not working to cool my home. He explained the way the system works and showed me the broken piece. He also thoroughly inspected the unit to ensure that nothing else was broken. He found another worn capacitor that was going to break in the next year or so and gave me the choice of having it repaired now or waiting. He gave great advice with my best interest in mind and explained what repairs were necessary and which ones were not. I really appreciated his expertise, efficiency, and courtesy. A wonderful experience all together and my air conditioning is still working wonderfully 4 months later. I would definitely use this company again and have already recommended them to two friends who needed repairs.

Great service, did a great job with no pressure to do unnecessary things

We called Air Experts for season servicing. The tech called me out to show me two big cracks in our heat exchanger (note that he showed it to me and didn't just tell me and expect me to take his word for it). The expense was too high just to do a repair when the upstairs unit also needed work, so we purchased two new units. (I gave them a B for price because it's horribly expensive no matter what you do. But they are probably cheaper than most everyone else.) The salesman spent TWO HOURS with us. It was a long sales pitch but he really did an excellent job presenting all his "evidence." The last time we bought a unit with a different company, the tech did the sales job and spent all of 10 minutes explaining things to me. They got everything installed quickly. Unfortunately, a couple of months later, the upstairs unit had a problem. But Air Experts quickly came back out (2x - once to determine the problem and once to fix it) and, of course, there was no charge. Getting a new unit will never be cheap, but the quality of the carrier matters most. We've been very pleased with Air Experts.

The company completed two HVAC tune ups for me, one of for the A/C system upstairs and the other one for the downstairs system. All of my interactions with them, from scheduling the appointment, to getting reminders, and down to the actual day of the tune-up have been pleasant. The team is very professional, and you can tell that they are good at what they do. The technician arrived on time and completed his job with minimal burden to my day; however, he did stop to explain things clearly whenever I had any questions. He provided a good recommendation and status summary after the tune-ups. What I especially like is that I did not feel pressured to make a decision on the spot, but he did leave me with a verbal and written recommendation of next steps. I highly recommend the company and plan to use them again for follow-up!

I called them yesterday and told them about my air conditioner. I asked if they had anyone available in my area, and they actually were able to send someone out the very next day! The man showed up on time, and did an excellent job. I am very pleased with their services.

Unfortunately, our technician missed that our unit was draining water in the crawl space. He came back a second time to check the unit, explain the program, and recommended replacement. We moved through another agency identified by our home owners policy; the home owners policy is now replacing our cooling unit. I just wish that the water leak would have been caught the first time he visited. If I didn't go into the crawl space to work on another issue following his visit, we would have missed this completely - with water draining into our crawlspace.

Thorough serving of outside A/C unit including wiring, electrical system and interior furnace fan unit. Service man removed freon because unit was overcharged. But this caused the A/C compressor to fail a couple days later. Air Experts came out 3 times to access the problem and offered a new system at a reduced price PLUS CREDIT for the burnt out compressor. Air Express promptly changed out the entire A/C and furnace system for a great price in a timely fashion. They made good on unforseen consequence of removing freon that caused my old compressor to burn out. The prior system was 14 years old and near the end of its life, so this system replacement deal came at a good time. We had 3 professional A/C installers get everything installed, old system removed and cleaned up by 5PM. It worked out well for all all around

Everything went really well. The workers showed up on time for all appointments, the work was done when they said and the system is working really well. They cleaned up after they were done and all the employees were professional and courteous. Will definitely use them I the future.

Outdoor heat pump wasn't working. Capacitor replaced and it was fixed. Refrigerant was low and they suggested a leak search. A surface coil leak was found.

Technician, Curtis, showed up on time and was very courteous and friendly. He wasted no time and went right to work. When he was finished, my HVAC unit looked brand new and it works beautifully. This technician does a very good job and he represents Air Experts well. I will call on this company again when I need future service.

Overall it went great. The only issue is that I had to schedule the appointment almost a month later because of all the business they generated with the deal.. The technician was very thorough and professional. He gave me his personal recommendation of what additional services might be needed and actually told me that some of it was not necessary at this time, which I appreciated. I felt he was very honest and had my best interests at heart. He did a very thorough job cleaning the exterior coils to improve their efficiency. He also gave me an estimate to get the furnace blower remove and thoroughly cleaned, which I need to do at some point.

Provider quoted $750 to clean (3) zone systems for ducts and returns. Date for cleaning (7/28) was scheduled, yesterday. This morning, I found out the transmission on my car is in need of rebuilding, and I no longer have $750 to clean my air ducts. I spoke to provider and let them know my circumstances; they were polite and understanding. I will contact provider again when I can afford the cost.

Technician was punctual, polite, and thorough. He detected a part that was going to need replacement soon and went ahead and replaced it. It was under warranty, so no extra cost for me.

They were a great company. They were very professional. They gave us a great HVAC. I don't have anything bad to say about them. They seemed to understand the needs of their customers as far as HVAC. They had a wide variety and were very knowledgeable. They had a free 2 year maintenance package that came with the purchase of the system. So they do twice a year, one for summer and one for winter. They come in and check out your system.

Technician was knowledgeable, on time, and completed the work completely. Only complaint is the price to replace the capacitor. AC was not cooling properly. I purchased a a diagnostic check for $29 (Angie's list coupon). Technician determined the capacitor was bad and replaced it for an additional $171. The exact replacement part is less than $20 on the internet, so this means I paid $150 for about 20 minutes of work, in addition to the diagnostic charge. I communicated with the provider via email following the service, and this was the response I got: " The $29 you paid is a diagnostic/service call, repairs are always additional, that is the price for a technician to come out and diagnostic the system to see what the problem is. You actually saved money by purchasing the Angie's list coupon because if you had not our service call is $89+ repairs. If you need us to explain in more detail please give our office a call at 919-890-7789." I decided not to press it, as the explanation is clear and understandable. But with that said, I think the price was high given the technician was already out here, and I just assumed that a 20 minute repair would be included in the price of a service call. Live and learn.
