Air Experts Heating & Cooling

Young man came in and opened the case of the AC and looked at it. He alternated putting the machine on and off. Then put his gauge and connected to a gas cylinder. Then told me it needed 4 pounds of refrigerant and that I needed a new a/c . The whole thing is a gimmick to get at people's a/c before other providers do.

They were very efficient, professional, performed the service well and have also given us a quote for more major work that needs to be addressed soon. They seemed to be very honest.

I would recommend them because of their customer service. The price was really good.

They actually came out a couple of times to try to fix the AC. They sent out two different technicians who use different tools and had very different opinions on what the issue was. The unit still has some problems I'm currently just dealing with it.

A/C was dead when I got home from work and the house was over 80 degrees and getting hotter. Called Air Experts and they were able to fit us in within an hour due to a previous cancellation. As promised, he was there within the time frame they gave me over the phone. Major storm approaching when he arrived but he was able to assess the unit outside before the rain/lightning got bad. He then went into the attic to check the unit and found that the drain pan was full of water thanks to a clogged drain line, hence the unit automatically cuts off and will not work. He removed the water from the pan, cleaned/scrubbed some stuff (can't remember exactly), and then tested the unit. Now that the water was gone, the unit was working but the water wasn't draining as well as he wanted. He found where the drain line exited the house and worked from both sides to get the line completely unclogged. Then he tested the drain line again and performed some additional cleaning to make sure everything was working correctly. We will definitely use these guys again. Very professional and courteous.

The technician was prompt and professional. He diagnosed the problem and laid out all my options to fix it. He wasn't a salesman....in fact I went with another company to replace my system. I think next time I will use Air Experts.

It all went okay. Installed 2 outside a/c units outside and a new furnace upstairs in the attic. Finished the job in one day. I gave the quality a "B" because about 2 weeks later the brand new unit wasn't cooling upstairs. The company quickly came out and fixed the issue. I was told they over filled one unit and under filled the other. Everything seems to be okay now, but I have heard over filling can cause damage. I hope I don't have any further issues.

Curtis came by on one of the really humid and warm days and spent more than two hours on the job. I initially bought 2 a/c tune-ups through Angie's List for $55 apiece (since I have two units). When I asked, Curtis said it had been awhile since any inspection and/or maintenance had been done on the units, which was obvious based upon how much junk was on the outside of the compressors (I only bought the house last August, and it's pretty clear basic maintenance hadn't been kept up on it). One unit was fine, but the other unit required a new dual run capacitor. Curtis showed me the old one, told me the price of the equipment and labor and explained that if I kept the old capacitor in place, that unit would likely stop working during one of the really hot days. I had him replace it, which accounts for the difference in price from the Angie's List coupon. I have seen other companies offering air-conditioning unit tune-ups for less, but I suspect the quality of the work is also not as good. I was really impressed with Curtis's work ethic. He asked me if I had a hose and then hooked it up to an outside faucet to wash down the units, then replaced the hose in my garage without my having to ask him. He went under the house into the crawlspace and up in the attic, where it was stifling. He provided a complete list of what he had done on the work sheet that he left with me. I will definitely hire Air Experts again based upon this experience.

Very thorough check of all mechanicals. Cleaned coils, etc. and checked coolant level for correct pressure. Very happy with the work and the professionalism.

The visit went well. We will definitely use them in the future if the need arises. We had done our research previously and based on what he told us we were confident in his abilities. Further, he did not try to markup the part needed, or sell us any warranties as I often see with repair personnel. He was very professional and thorough in assessing the issue.

I decided to try Air Experts based on the reviews I read on Angie's List. I had used another HVAC company and was not pleased with their service. David L arrived 10 minutes early and was very friendly and professional. Based on the last company that did my yearly maintenance, I asked a lot of questions and he was happy to answer all of them. In the 8 years I have owned my home and had yearly servicing performed, no one has ever cleaned the coils on the inside of the AC units. David was very thorough and I will definitely be requesting him for my fall maintenance. I ended up having to replace the capacitors in the A/C units which resulted in a higher than expected charge, but the cost of replacing the capacitors was reasonable. .

Technician was at my house within a couple hours of my phone call. He was polite, was able to find the problem immediately, and had the air conditioner working within a few minutes.

It went well and as planned

David came by on time and wasted no time in checking one of my two heat pump units per the Spring Check Up deal that I purchased through Angie's List. He was thorough, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I will probably have Air Experts come back and do my semi-yearly inspections and service. I also had a visit from someone from Air Experts' sales staff. That was not so great of an experience. First, he did not show up for our appointment on a Friday night. He did call (about two and one half hours after the scheduled time) and apologized for missing the appointment. We rescheduled the appointment for the next day. He was thirty minutes late for that appointment. By being late he pressed us against a hard deadline for another appointment. We had to stop the conversation and ask him to leave as we were late for our other obligation. Not good when you are trying to sell someone something as expensive as a heat pump.

Curtis did an outstanding job cleaning our systems.

They were very nice, commutative and prompt. They’ve come out for one visit so far. They checked the startup, checked the filters, and other general maintenance. It turned out just fine. They were very competitive with pricing.

My experience was great. They did what they were suppose to do. They did not fool around in the appointment and they were professional. It was all done in one day. They cleaned up well after themselves and I thought the price was above average.

Service tech arrived on time and introduced himself and was very friendly and helpful answering all my questions. He did an outstanding job of cleaning the condenser coils, electrical compartments,checking capacitors and testing the operation of the a/c system. He went under the house and checked the air handling unit and cleaned out the drain lines. He also checked the blower motor for any unusual play in the bearings and explained all that he was doing. He was very thorough in his work and I could tell he was a knowledgeable technician. I would definitely recommend Air Experts to anyone needing air conditioning service.

Air Experts was the last of seven service providers we talked to. We learned a great deal through all of these discussions, and had the chance to hear different viewpoints regarding the kinds of recommendations we received along the way. While Air Experts did not offer the lowest price, they had a solid service package, and we were impressed that they took the time to do a detailed load balancing review of our HVAC system before making any recommendations -- something no one else had done. They seemed more concerned about what we needed and about doing an installation customized to our needs than about selling any specific brand of equipment. The technicians were clearly professional. The sales person had recommended adding a cold air return, which the technicians determined was not necessary. That meant (a) several hundred dollars in savings for us and (b) evidence that these folks are trustworthy. We are quite aware that there are some contractors out there who would have put that return in anyway. We needed a few adjustments after the install, and these were handled immediately. Our only suggestion would be that the contract paperwork include detailed specs for what is being installed, even it if takes a day to turn that around. We like to see evidence in writing of what we're getting before we sign final paperwork and begin writing checks. It is, after all, a LOT of money. That being said, we highly recommend these folks, and will surely have them back if our downstairs HVAC system dies before we do.

Technician was on time, checked system thoroughly, checked connections and freon levels. He suggested putting in a damper system to more evenly distribute the air to upstairs, giving options and price levels. He also suggested a maintenance contract for twice a year maintenance and priority service. I ended up purchasing a damper system and signing a service contract. The tenant is very happy with the results.
