Auto Pro's chief mechanic and owner answered phone calls promptly.  I had the Honda CRV's oil change completed by other garage but then check engine light came on days later.  Auto Pro investigated the engine, turning the car on and idling, used a sensor device and deemed that it was a tripped light.  The mechanic suggested to call back as soon as possible if the light came on again.  This was done free of charge. The light has not come back on.
Naturally I called Auto Pro to have a side mirror replaced when a branch knocked it off our Honda Civic.  Again, the owner/mechanic answered the phone.  The part needed was ordered and had arrived within 2 days.  The delay in installation was due to my work schedule.  On the day of installation the service was prompt.  The owner suggested I keep the mirror face in case it was needed in the future.
Overall I am very happy to have found a good reasonable mechanic.  Believe you me I have looked.

Their prices are reasonable, and the owner is one of the most honest people. He was recommended to me by a friend who had been using him for 15 years. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.

I really like them. They are the nicest people. It is a very small business, there is one guy and he has a guy that works for him. They know Hondas like the back of their hand. I have taken my car there numerous times, and I will never take it anywhere else. They know their stuff, they are honest, and it is difficult to find a mechanic who will not try to charge you extra. They will tell you what is an emergency, or what you do not need right away. The charge for their service is always a lot cheaper. I got a quote from another company, and it was $300 more than Auto Pro.

The mechanics at Auto Pro have kept my two SUVs rolling for the last four years. My 4Runner now has 244,000+ miles. My RS300 has 200,000+ miles. The Toyota and Lexus dealers don't come close to the service quality levels and economies provided by Auto-Pro. I have them service each of these vehicles every 5,000 +/- miles. I have great faith in everything they perform. Barry Howard has a great feel for when to perform the appropriate preventive maintenance. I really appreciate all that they have done for me.

So called "mechanic" Barry and another mechanic employed @ this shop stated it was a malfunction (of 10 words - too overwhelming and confusing) to explain to a certified mechanic what they had disgnosed the problem of turning off the check engine light. They all 3 (Barry, his wife, and the mechanic assisting Barry) ordered me to go to a dealership because his lean-to-shanty of a fly-by-night shop did not have the necessary machinery to turn the "check engine light" off. As per their instructions, I made an appointment with the Mitsubishi dealership: CBS Quality Care @ 1331 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703. Barry stated the work at the dealership should be "free" because he felt guilty about ripping me off for $494.11 and not correcting the problem. An appointment was made with CBS Mitsubishi dealership w/ service attendant Jeff Nease for 20 Sept 12 @ which time mechanic "Herb Peters" performed testing w/ instructions to turn off the "check engine light". I was charged $88.56 which I paid in cash just like I paid $494.11 cash to Barry's wife @ their place of business "Auto Pro". After explaining to the customer service representative @ CBS Mitsubishi how fly-by-night mechanic Barry had ripped me off $494.11 and not turned off the check engine light yet, charged me for his gross incompetency, immediately CBS sent a check which was forwarded to me to reimburse me for the $88.56 I had been charged for w/ still not addressing the check engine light on which still exists as a mechanical failure of my Mitsubishi Eclipse.

My experiences with Barry Howard, owner of Auto Pro, have always been absolutely positive and wonderful. I have followed him around from his various shops for about 12 years and have referred many people to him over the years. Once people switch to Auto Pro, they stay there and are loyal customers. I can't even express how many times Barry has gone out of his way to help me and others out. He will always tell you if the work is something he can't do. When I had an engine go out in a BMW, he referred me to another shop. When that shop seemed to be charging me too much, Barry got on the phone and handled it immediately. Another time, a quick oil change place ruined the rear axle in one of my cars. Barry took care of everything - calling the company and dealing with all the details, getting them to cover the costs of all labor and parts. Another time, my car broke down over a 100 miles from home and had to be towed to a garage in another town. He worked with the guy to get him the required parts. I could go on and on, because there have been so many positive experiences. For quick oil changes, you can just make an appointment, go in and it is done in a few minutes. Many times, I have just pulled in and needed something - battery, windshield wipers, etc. and they will stop what they are doing and take care of the problem right away. If you live close by, they will give you rides home, drop off cars, etc. - ultimate customer service! Whenever I'm in a jam with a car, Barry is the first person to call for anything.
