We emailed pictures of the defective mattress to the seller, Terry Sain in Mooresville but he did not reply so we called after a week. He gave us the number to Greg Blankenship the Customer Service Manager. We left a message with him but also no return call so after 5 days I called him again and was given the old "I couldn't understand the phone number you left and kept misspelling your last name in our database" etc...I gave him a break and explained the issues with our new mattress and he said an inspecting company would could within 72 hours (this was Tuesday afternoon). Third time: nobody called so I followed up a good 4 days later and was given excuse after excuse. Greg hung up then I received a call from salesman Terry up in Mooresville acting all confused and trying to say this was the first time he's ever had a problem with any mattresses and did we want to replace (which originally yes we did but that was 4 phone calls and 1 email ago) plus after 3 weeks of the run around I said we were done with Tyndall Furniture and giving them second and third chances and bearing with their excuses so we just wanted a refund. Terry was quick to say that would be minus two ridiculously expensive pillows ($99 each) given to us and the $99 delivery fee. I said as long as you pick up this defective mattress, fine. Then I was told to give Lindsey in accounting 3-4 more days to call me back regarding either a credit card credit or check (we paid in full with credit card) so we shall see IF she ever calls because I see a trend Tyndall already...this has been THE WORST experience ever! STAY AWAY from this unscrupulous, lazy, conniving, company!!!
Description of Work: We bought a mattress in early August and within 2 weeks it started to collapse in the middle. # weeks after purchase the 'pillow top' started to clump in several sections.

Waiting for the couches to be completed at the factory.
Description of Work: Recently I ordered furniture from Tyndall. They carry some quality furniture at good price points so I was excited to find couches that fit into my budget. I dealt with 2 salesman before making the decision to order the couches. Tommy was easy to work with and I have no problem with his services. However, the manager of the store was another matter. When it came time to order the sofas I found out that I would need to put down 50% of the order price and 25% of that need to be cash-nobody had advised me of this old fashioned business practice. The manager's explanation was that if I decided not accept the couches that I could dispute the charges and he would be "stuck" with them. I have no intention of not purchasing them when the order is complete-the only exception would be if something is wrong with them. The manager was obviouly irritated that I did not want to put down 25% in cash but I was never told that would be necessary, I was willing to put 50% of the price on a credit card. I told them that I would not order from them if they would not waive the 25% cash requirement. He reluctantly agreed but his attitude was condescending and arrogant. He was talking to the saleman as if I was not there and he sarcastically said to the salesman " be ready to purchase the sofas if I decided to dispute the charges!" The manager had no reason to believe that I would not purchase the couches and his attitude was unacceptable. i should not have placed the order after his poor behavior but I really want these couches. i wonder what the attitude would have been if my husband were with me? The couches have not been delivered yet but I will post when I get them.

After a year this supposed high quality recliner broke a spring and begin to poke into my wife's back. When we took the chair back to have it replaced or fixed they would not take the time to listen to us. But continually interrupted us to tell us their service center was at another location. After driving to the other location we were told the repair man would have to come to our home. We arranged for that. But the repairman said it would be $45 just to come out, not including the repair work. So I've just taken the expensive life time warrantied chair and shoved a small pillow into the area in front of the spring. We have spent over $2,500 with Tyndall in he past, but I'll not use them again. They are very very unresponsive after the sale.
Description of Work: Bought a FlexSteel recliner from hem with a lifetime guarantee.

We walked into the store, looked around, were shown several items within our price range. All items on the showroom floor were clearly marked. Steve answered our questions and showed us the features and construction of the pieces. There was no pressure and everything was written up and we were on our way. The delivery men was courteous and willing to help move other furniture out of the way to make way for the new items (we didn't have anything that needed to be taken out to the curb). Even the serive on one of the pieces was taken care of immediatly upon speaking with Steve.
Description of Work: We were going to go to Furniture Row to buy a bedroom and kitchen set but found everything we wanted in the Tyndall showroom. the salesman Steve was very helpful and there was absolutely no pressure. All items were delivered and setup as expected. One item needed adjustment and we called three times. However, since we were in Pineville we stopped by the store and spoke with Steve. He resolved our probem inmediately and apolized that we had to come into the store to resolve it. However, as written above, we were already in the neighborhood and didn't see this as an incoinvenince. I worked for Seamna's Furniture and know a bit about high pressure sales and quality (or lack of it) furniture. Tyndall was professional and gave excellent quality and value.

I ordered a custom made table and 6 chairs. I paid my deposit in late September and was told that the furniture would be in before Thanksgiving of 2011. In December, I called and was told my furniture would be delivered before Christmas...that didn't happen. It turned out that a mistake had been made at the manufacturer that resulted in the chairs being made but not the table. The furniture was delivered in March. The table was of such poor quality that you could see the floor through the cracks where the leaf attached. Additionally, there was a scar on the table top and one of the table legs had a split. One of the chairs looked like someone’s "seconds" due to the poor cracked nature of the wood used for the back of the chair and several chairs wobbled. In my correspondence with their “customer service department,” I asked that a service technician come out and look at the chairs because a few of them wobbled---No one ever called nor came out(I put a hold on my MasterCard due to their shoddy service) . In May I contacted the company and was told that they had just picked up the furniture and that it would be delivered within a few days. I emailed the president of the company, Chuck Tyndall, and he said he'd check on the furniture on the day it was delivered. That follow up didn't happen. The table was acceptable but the crew did not bring the proper tools with them to assemble the new back of the poor quality chair. I had to lend them my rubber mallet so that they could disassemble and then reassemble the chairs. One worker asked to use the restroom and afterwards, I had to clean urine off the seat of the commode and floor. My wife purchased felt sticky pads to put on one leg of 4 of the chairs to keep them from rocking when we sat down in them. The furniture is not of a high quality. Do not expect much in the way of customer service from Tyndall Furniture nor value for your money. My experience was horrible and pervasive from the president of the company all the way down. Do not do business with these people.

Excellent sales presentation by John convinced us that it would be worth the investment to purchase a foam mattress instead of the traditional spring mattress. We made our choice with no sales pressure. When we had some doubts prior to the delivery of the mattress we returned to the store for another look and trial, again no pressure, just helpful attitudes. We finalized the decision, and the mattress was delivered on time in a professional manner. We've only slept on the mattress a few nights, but are very happy with our choice.

Service was great during the purchase. After it was delivered I never heard from them unless I initiated the contact. 5 phone calls and 2 faxes, they have yet contacted me to ease my mind. The quality of the product is lousy. A china cabinet with a door that will not open, the other door has a broken latch. A chair that cracks when you sit on it. Seat cushions that were never installed properly so nails fall out when you sit down. The finish on the cabinet and chairs marginal. The glass in back of the cabinet has a pit. All for just $2500. The furniture was delivered over a week ago so I don't think I am being unreasonable. Do you?

WE HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR YEARS FOR JUST THE RIGHT FURNITURE, AND HAVING HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT TYNDALL, WE VISITED THEIR PINEVILLE STORE. DON KRAUSS WAS ABLE TO HELP US FIND SOMETHING THAT MET OUR EXACT NEEDS. NOW, I AM THE KIND OF BUYER THAT LIKES TO LOOK ON MY OWN, THEN INVOLVE A SALESPERSON FOR MORE DETAILED WORK. THAT WAS EXPERIENCE I HAD AT TYNDALL, WHERE THEY WERE HELPFUL WITHOUT BEING PUSHY, AND LISTENED AS I POINTED OUT SOME FEATURES THAT I LIKED SO THEY COULD GO TO THE CATALOGS TO NARROW THE SEARCH. DON WAS VERY PATIENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE, A GREAT PERSON. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT TYNDALL IS KIND OF COMPANY THAT IS EMBODIES THE CLASSIC "FAMILY" BUSINESS THAT EMPHASIZES SERVICE OVER ALL. THE DELIVERY GUYS HAD TO MUSCLE THESE MASSIVE PIECES OVER DIFFICULT TERRAIN, BUT THEY DID IT PERFECTLY. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ANY GIVEN FURNITURE STORE WILL HAVE WHAT YOU ARE SEEKING, BUT THIS ONE WILL HAVE THE QUALITY OF PEOPLE YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH.
Description of Work: WE FOUND A BEDROOM SUITE --BED, DRESSER, MIRROR, AND ARMOIRE AT TYNDALL THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR. WITH THE ABLE ASSISTANCE OF DON KRAUSS, WE ARRANGED FOR A CHARGE ACCOUNT AND DELIVERY. THE FURNITURE WAS DELIVERED AND SET UP IN OUR HOME BY A COUPLE OF VERY POLITE AND INDUSTRIOUS YOUNG MEN.
