CANNEY CONSTRUCTION CO

Description of Work: Doug Canney of Canney Construction Co. was contracted 8/10 to install a standing seam metal roof and paid $450 for initial materials and BDC was paid approximately $9500 for metal, etc. Mr. Canney had figured to do the job. Mr. Canney had to be called frequently when he did not show up for work on the house. The house was left uncovered overnight on at least 5 occasions which resulted in water damage to the ceiling and carpet of the house. Mr. Canney dragged this project out, collecting pay for hours worked until a minimal amount of money was left. He left the job unfinished on 12/14/10 with a promise to return, which he never did and did not call. What should have been a 2 week job stretched from October(when initial work started) to December. Another roofer had to be hired to remove metal installed by Mr. Canney and helper due to incorrect installation. The excess materials that Mr. Canney ordered and additional money paid to another roofer to correct and reinstall the metal was approximately $6000. I do not recommend Mr. Canney for any installation involving standing seam metal. In regard to the work or lack of he performed via our contract: he did not perform what he stated on the contract , talks a good game but I will never trust what he says or writes again.
