BATHROOM RENOVATION NIGHTMARE! We have never felt so taken advantage of and disappointed in a company’s work ethics. Everything went wrong – from the first subcontractor being unable to provide renovation work that is up to industry standards, to being overcharged, to numerous broken promised of delivery dates, to the company not cleaning up after themselves. (Images below are from the 1st subcontractors work and the mess that they left behind.) The company sent out a sub-contractor who later was determined unable to renovate the bathroom up to the industry standard. After the 4th day of the demo, the subcontractor was able to completely open up the main floor and all of the shower walls. Ben Sr. (Owner) at that point provided an additional pricing quote because the wood beams needed to be replaced. I agreed to the additional price and signed off on it after receiving a revised updated quote with the updated work of scope. Once the sub-contractor started to install the tiles that we provided, we noticed the work was being done incorrectly. We brought this to Ben Sr. and Collin’s attention and Ben Sr. eventually came and checked on the project which caused a dispute with the 1st subcontractor. Eventually, the company sent out 2 new subcontractors to re-demo and correct the bathroom. According to the contract: “all work would be installed according to industry standard. Any charges, additions or extras in either labor or material provided hereunder shall be at an agreed price and first approved in writing by both Owners and Contractor.” – Originally the company agreed to provide the shower tiles and the main floor tiles - which we picked out because our salesman brought us samples to choose from, however, in the end - we ended up buying our own tiles. Ben Sr. (owner) agreed that he would give us a credit back on the tile since we bought the tiles instead of having the company provide it. He advised that all we had to do was provided a receipt and make sure that whatever tile we purchased was under $4/per sq. ft. During the process, I informed that the 1st sub-contractor did not remove the current shower fixtures which completely ruined the current material. I informed that we have the converted shower adjustment that we bought that we can use. Ben Sr. told us that it would cost $1500 additional if they did the shower adjustment. I informed Ben Sr. that $1500 was too high for just adjusting the shower head up and declined the service verbally and through email. My dad and brother ended up doing this work scope that night. (We have a recording/pictures of us doing this scope of work to adjust the showerhead.) - The 2nd subcontractor to sign a written statement that stated that they did not do this scope of work. On the last day of completion, I called and inform Collin that the bathroom was completed and offered to pay that day, however, I needed the $1500 to be taken off along with the tiles fees because we purchased all of the tiles. Collin then stated that what Ben Sr. meant was that the additional $1500 was for the shower wall demolition and repair. I informed Collin that we never had a conversation about an additional $1500 for shower wall demolition and repairs. The only conversation we had about $1500 was for the shower adjustment - which we declined verbally and in writing. Also pointed out that the quote that they sent us after we declined the service stated that the $1500 was for “plumbing” – not “shower wall demolition and repair.” At this point, American Dream Home Remodeling sent us multiple different quotes changing the wordings and amount. I printed off all quotes for my record. I only authorized and approved the first 2! In the end, we paid the full balance to make the nightmare go away because we determined that American Dream Home Remodeling was NOT worth our time in small claims court. We will never consider American Dream Home Remodeling for any of our future home projects.

Hired this company to fix our roof. After being to our home 5x it is still not fixed. They continue to come out and attempt to fix it but obviously don’t know what they are doing. Ended up filing a BBB report and still have a leaking roof. I’m done chasing this company down to get the service we paid for.

The Power of Three!! Ryan Mc Henry's Crew of Tyler who Power Washed & Cleaned out the Gutters, Jeremy who fixed a couple pieces of siding, and Ben who managed to FIND the right siding, coordinate a Magical Jeremy "OUT OF THIN AIR", and kept the proverbial juggling act running seamlessly at my home throughout the day was EXCEPTIONAL!!! Fixing the siding was an On-the SPOT, "hey, can you fix this as long you're here", question?? Yes, I did that!! ...WOW!...THEY did THAT!!!...WHO DOES THAT??? American Dream Home Remodeling... and Ryan McHenry's Team...WOW!! You will not be disappointed with this team of hardworking, EXCEPTIONAL young men!! BTW: It was Bitterly COLD outside and Incredibly windy.... I thought it might get cancelled...these guys are TOUGH!!

It took several phone calls to schedule appointment and then it took weeks. The first guy came out and immediately tried to sell new gutters . Then didn't have a ladder to reach the highest points of the house. Came back weeks later to complete work. Still have some problems with water flow because of the gutter guards that we installed years ago . If they would have removed them instead of working around them, the flow would be much better.

Scheduling the appointment was challenging. The office staff was slow to respond and could not understand what I needed. Thankfully the head of the company took care of things and the gentleman that came to our house was excellent. Although he worked diligently, I felt the office should have scheduled someone to help him because of the size of the house. I checked yes for possible hiring because the young man did a good job. I would not hire if I have to deal with the incompetent office staff

Dmitri & Jeremy did a great job at Pressure Washing my home, and took the time to make sure everything was as spotless as possible. This company seemed to be picking up business around this time, and i found them off Groupon when they were running a special. Not knowing who this company was before, i decided to give them a shot. I live in an HOA, and i had 10 days to get my house pressure washed before being subjected to fines. I called American Dream home and received a call on Thursday, 9/14. I expressed my concerns with the timing and the office staff got me an appointment for that Saturday, the 16th. That's when Dmitri & Jeremy came in, and got right to work. I was told that they were closing at 4pm that day, and they didn't leave my house till after 6pm. They did not try and rush the job, or cut corners to get home after a long week. Bottom line, they were hands down a great company to work with. I would denfinetly recommend them to anyone in the Charlotte area.

The initial appointment was set and they never showed. Communication at call center was poor. The supervisor reached out to me and reconciled the issues. Once the service was performed it was great. Technician Josh was great, worked hard and efficient. Very good personality and very engaging. The supervisor and Josh saved the day. I would recommend the company although the initial issues.

Employee came out on time. He cleaned gutters but said there was very little debris. He could not explain why the gutter was leaking but thought 2 sides of the roof were draining too much water . He recommended a second downspout installed. I agreed and we set up a date and time. He never showed up and never called. The gutter continued to leak. I had another company come out and they found a massive amount of debris covering the hole of the downspout . There was mold and they said this stuff had been there a long time.
Response from American Dream Power Washing
"We would like to refund you for the provided service. No contract or information regarding the additional downspout was reported back to the office when the work was completed. This individual was solely a gutter cleaner and it appears he did not test the downspout as we require him to do. I will reach out to you today so that I can discuss ways we can make this up to you. Otherwise, when you have a chance you can reach out to our office at 704-659-3763."

We were not going to write a negative review for this company, so we left it undone over a month. We don't write a negative review usually. But Angie's List kept sending us a reminder of review, so here it is. The crew sent from American Dream Home Remodeling did clean gutters. But that was it. In the past, I used different gutter cleaning companies, whichever the company had coupon on Angie's List. Every single one of them cleaned gutter, wiped off the gutters, blown the debris off the roof, and cleaned the debris off the ground. Not the American Dream Home Remodeling crew. They clean the gutter, but did nothing else. After they were done, they told us how dirty the gutters were. They specifically said "we aren't asking for tip or anything, but it was a hard work. It was really hard work." I did have $20 bill in my hand for tip, but that statement turned me off so much that I didn't give it. And after the work was done, they left the leaf blower on our yard. I called the company to let them know about it. The receptionist on the phone didn't even thank us for letting them know. It took 3 days for them to come pick it up. In the meantime, my neighbors kept letting us know that we left out the leaf blower in the yard. Scheduling with them was difficult. I had to call the office number (that's the only number given to us), leave messages with the receptionist for someone else who's in charge of sending out the crew. So in essence, I have to leave a message with the receptionist who will leave a message to someone else to call me back. How awkward a process is that? He called during the day when we are out at work. So we phone tagged for a week. That was at the end of May, and they were able to schedule us in July. And then few days before the scheduled day, we got a call to re-schedule for the next day, because the crew was going to be in the area. What was the point of making the appointment??? Overall, lack of professionalism was the most annoying part. I thought a company that had a coupon with Angie's List would have been better than American Dream Home Remodeling. BTW, we are in the middle of hiring a company for 1st floor remodeling (installing brand-new kitchen cabinets and appliances, replacing the entire flooring, laundry room, butler's pantry, replacing the french door, etc). If American Dream Home Remodeling was a lot more professional, we would have asked them to come back. Nope! I won't be hiring them again.

After weeks of phoning and attempting to set up a date for the cleaning, they scheduled for a Friday between 12-2:00 p.m. At 3:30 I called the company to cancel as they had not arrived and I had to leave. They called back, but I told them to forget it. Several days later, they called the home to say they were "on the way" and could they complete the job. Reluctantly, I agreed. One and one half hours later they arrived. They left debris around the house, on the window sills and all over the deck . They also left a large piece of foam on the deck (not sure what this was). Pieces of sticks were observed in the gutter after they left. In addition, cob webs that were around the gutters were left in place. Overall, a very poor experience.

My daughter said the repair man did a great job. He was very professional and suggested a couple of things that needed repairing on the roof. My daughter already has someone scheduled for those repairs, as we didn't know earlier that American Dream Home could do roof repairs as well as gutter cleaning. My only complaint is that it took a couple of months to schedule a time when the company could send someone out, as they had jobs already scheduled out of town. I would use this company again if it wouldn't take so long to get the work scheduled.

I had to contact them 3 times and each time no respond. When they do respond to schedule a time for the work, they didn't show up and follow up phone call. After the 4th time, they finally actually showed up to clean the gutter.

scheduling was a joke. I was told they would be here and they were not two times. They showed up without my knowledge as I was leaving my home. The techs were very nice and professional. They even put up a gutter that had fallen and was not there fault. If scheduling had not been such a fiasco, I was certainly have given them and A. The techs were awesome!

They never contacted me after I bought the deal so I finally contacted them. After a few attempts to reach them they finally put us on the schedule and then didn't show up the day they were supposed to. No call or message or anything. After several attempts to contact them again they finally replied, giving the excuse that we are outside their service area (didn't say iit on the deal and they didn't say it in the initial contact) but they would squeeze us in that rag to get it done since we bought the deal. They did come as promised that day but left debris everywhere, including in and around the gutters and on the roof near the gutters. Very disappointing and after reading the other reviews, it seems like Angie's List needs to drop them and move on.
