Dennis came out and did an excellent evaluation. He discovered problems that other companies didn't find, including the source of the biggest leak. He did a great job of communicating exactly what would happen and wrote everything out accurately and completely.

They were fantastic in all regards. They do a good job every time. Their price is within reason. They do not suggest unnecessary add-ons.

The 8 man team showed up at 7:30AM and stayed to almost 7PM...very prompt...very professional... great crew...good clean-up and good follow up. gutter people likewise.

In July 2009, Dennis offered a quote on replacing my roof. He wrote on the quote that there was hail and wind damage to the roof and encouraged me to contact my insurance. My insurance company sent out an appraiser, who found no damage. They agreed to send out another appraiser to meet with Dennis to reconcile the two opinions, but Dennis refused. I opted to hire another company that stood behind its word.

Not the least expensive, but worth the price.

Kevin gave us an estimate for a new roof and explained all that was involved in the job. We contracted with BTR to do the job. The workers arrived as scheduled and completed the job ahead of time. They cleaned up and after they left one could not even tell that work had been done. The driveway and yard had all debree removed. Upon completion David from BTR come out to inspect the work. He did a very thorough job, going into the attic and on the roof to assure that everything was done correctly. I also want to mention that this work was done on one of the coldest days in January.

BTR was a wonderful company to work with. Dennis came out to give me an estimate on getting a new roof and he was extremely thorough and spent the time to walk through everything. I was interested in getting new gutters and attic insulation and he provided quotes for both of those separately. The quote was in line with what I received from other companies but BTR spent a lot more time examining my house and what I needed and walking through it with me than other companies. Once I was ready to get the work done they were very pleasant to work with and were able to schedule work fairly quickly. They made sure to clean up afterward and I'm very pleased with everything.

Took a couple of days to get Dennis Baker to look at the damage (a lot of people were hit by the same storm) but he was worth the wait. Knowledgeable, personable; he made the transaction and repair contract easy. I'll use him next time.

Very good. Dennis was on time for the appointment to provide an estimate. The estimate was very good as compared to the competition. The installers were also on time and completed the job in less than 8 hours.

I usually do not write reviews until after the work is actually done, but in this instance I thought one contractor?s free estimate and evaluation appointment deserved a separate review. During a recent rainy period winds were quite high. Water appeared on the ceiling and sidewalls of my breakfast room which has a bay window. I called several roofers on Angie?s List but they had all received many calls already and appointments were stretched out; however, BTR Construction and Roofing was able to get to me about 4 days before anyone else. Dennis Baker (co-owner) of BTR Construction and Roofing in Matthews, NC came to my house on November 20, 2009. He explained to me that such leaks could be tricky to detect because the leak appears only when high wind is present and not when rain just falls vertically. He inspected all areas of the bay window and found several voids in the caulking around the flashing above the shingles of the bay window, as well as slits cut into the mortar which could leak. He explained that these came from the builder?s subcontractor overcutting the slits where the flashing fits into the brick and they just didn?t bother to repair the damage they caused. The house is 2 years old. Despite the fact that he had found the leaks, Dennis continued to examine the house (at no charge) concerned that other such caulking voids might exist. He found one on a bedroom window on the second floor and also found a leaking mitre in the top level gutter as well as a leak in the ridge vent caused by the wind lifting up one edge of it. I was really surprised at how much time he spent examining the house and explaining everything for a no-charge estimate. He was very nice, provided evidence of his superior ratings from Owens-Corning and plenty of job references. My job would be a pretty small one, perhaps even something that an ordinary person could fix themselves once they knew what was wrong, but I am disabled and could not get up onto the roof to see what Dennis was finding. I am an native Charlottean and have dealt with many building contractors over the years with sometimes poor results, but I felt I would be in good hands with Dennis because very few people would take 1.5 hours to give a free estimate on a small job as he did. His prime concern was that he catch any problem areas to be sure that leaking would not happen again. Thank you Dennis for your time and expertise.

Excellent! The technician was very informative and very knowledgeable. He offered several suggestions for how to maintain our roof to avoid the issues that were identified.

I was happy with the result, however the estimate of how long the project would taken could have been handled better by the company.

This is the kind of experience I always hope for when I hire a contractor. Everyone involved was great. Dennis did the estimate. He explained our options and went into great detail on exactly how the roof would be installed. He spent quite a bit of time with us and was very thorough and knowledgeable. We had trouble deciding on a shingle color. Dennis suggested we call their office for locations of roofs they had installed in each color. I called Tammy at the office and she was able to email several addresses within an hour. This was a huge help in our decision. The crew arrived on schedule. They spread tarps around the lawn and shrubs to catch debris. They worked into the evening and were able to complete the job in one day. After they finished the cleanup, the shrubs and front porch looked better than when they started. They were courteous and professional. I understand why BTR gets their high Angie?s list ratings. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend them.

We were very happy with all he employees from BTR, from the gentleman giving estimates, receptionists who answered the phone and of course the men who replaced our roof. Everyone was on time, polite, and professional.

Their estimate was a little lower. They were on time. I did not have any problems with them.

On time, respectful, just came and did the job very well. Their clean up could have been a little better, the roofing material clogged a couple of my gutters and some also got into my microwave vent that I had to take apart to remove.

When I called them they always answered my phone calls. He came out to my home, checked out my roof, we sat down and he gave me the estimate for the work. The estimate was very good compared to some of the other estimates that I got. I gave them the go ahead for the project. We discussed what kind of shingles I wanted and they set the appointment up for a week later. They completed all of the work in a day and a half. They brought out a crew of ten or twelve people and they worked until dark. They did an excellent job. Other than picking up a few nails here and there they did a very good job. The price did have to go up a little bit when they determined how much plywood they needed to plug up the holes left from the previous vents, however they did a little bit of extra work that they did not charge me for.

Kevin who provided the estimate did an outstanding job with communication; itemized what needed to be done, and provided digital photos so I could see for myself. The work was scheduled, they showed up on time, and were able to coordinate their schedule with my masonry repair contractor. The company owners were onsite periodically and provided great feedback on the job progress, seeing things through to completion. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BTR to anyone needing these types of repairs.

The workers who came out were professional. Their pricing was as good as other companies. After the work was done, there was a leak and they came back and fixed it.

They removed the existing and the old shingles of our house. They piled up all the debris and installed new shingles. They also put in some new ridge vents on the house. They also repaired a damaged fascia and re-hung a section of the gutter on the back of the house. They had some decking which had to be replaced due to some water damage. Overall, they did a very good job. The reason why there was a hole on the ceiling of my son?s room was because there was a leak from the roof. So, we knew that the roof had to be replaced, as it was about time based on the age of the house. Moreover, there were heavy rains and leaks in the house. So, we got the roof repaired first and then the ceiling in my son?s room. I hope I don?t have to use them again, but if need be then I will use them again in the future.

After 4 estimates we decided to go with BTR. They offered excellent detail in their estimate and provided a range of options that showed venting options and associated costs. An example of another company's estimate went something like this "Replace shingles with 30 year shingles, turn key job." The job took 3 days start to finish and included a review with the foreman prior to the invoice being submitted. They voluntarily returned to replace flashing over a bay window because it was scratched and dented. I only found a handful of nails after the job was done. Minimal intrusion to our family during the job. Excellent experience.

Kevin was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. They showed up on time went right to work on the roof, garage and in the attic to blow in the insulation. Covered all the plants and etc to prevent any damage. Completed the entire job in one day, great group of workers both outside and inside. The clean up doing and after was very good, I have since found only two nails on the ground.

I worked with Dennis and Tammy while getting my roof replacement estimated and scheduled. My roof had hail damage so I was working with my insurance company on the claim which took quite a while. BTR was patient while I worked through all of the insurance stuff and made themselves available once my insurance claim was resolved. The work was done extremely quickly and my roof was 99% completed in one day. The cleanup was so phenomenal that had I not known they?d been there, I?d not have known based on the level of cleanup. There was no old roofing material or debris anywhere on my property. I would recommend BTR for all of your roofing needs as their professionalism and work quality is superior.
