We decided to add additional insulation to our attic. I called BTR and someone came out & gave us an estimate. We returned the contract to them but after two weeks we had not heard from them to set up an appointment to do the work so I called them and they immediately set up an appointment for the next week. The men who came out were very professional, completed all the work and cleaned up great.

They were true professionals; prompt in their intitial response; their estimator arrived on time, and spent time answering our questions and showing us our options; the crews arrived on time and the job was completed on time; they did a follow up which revealed additional work was required around a vent. BTR arranged with a contractor to have the work completed and the contractor billed BTR directly.

We had a success a very successful encounter with them. The sales guy explained to us exactly what they were going to do. They came in with a very reasonable estimate, which was a good $6-7000 less than what other contractors were coming up with. They worked very efficiently. They were in and out in two days. They cleaned up and had a very large crew. There were no delays, as the weather was good.

Dennis (a co-owner) was very professional and informative. He presented various options and gave specifics on what should (and shouldn't) be done. I appreciated the information provided very much and plan to have them do some of the repairs (the replacement isn't yet needed).

He was very professional and on time. He spent a lot of time with me explaining things. He had a lot of good information that he brought with him. The traffic is really bad here and he called to tell me that he was running late, which is unheard of. He was only 15 minutes late.

We have not decided to do the work yet.

Great service !! Kevin McHugh came out from BTR when I had a leak in 2005. I was so pleased with BTR 's price and workmanship (and Marty the actual repair person !!) that I said if I ever needed a roof I would definitely call BTR . So in 2009 when I needed a roof I called them. I was pleasantly surprised to see Kevin come out again ( He and his brother Dave work for his father's company). Kevin spent several hours explaining roofing options to me and answering all my questions. He said since I was going to do a ridge vent they could remove a ventilation dormer (saving me painting and using an electric attic fan) and smooth out the roof line. Kevin also explained his family's dedication to a quality product and service. They installed my roof over 3 days ( rain delay second day). It looks great ! They also did the extras I asked for and all at a very reasonalbe price ! David came out after completion and we did a check inside and out to be sure everything was done properly! That is there standard procedure ! You don't pay the final check until you are inspected and satisfied ! I told two of my neighbors how pleased I was with BTR and they both have used them. On a final note ....after one of our snows I had discovered a leak...I contacted Tammy with BTR and they took care of the repair ( with Marty ! great guy and great roofer !). They really stood behind their workmanship and product ! I am extremely picky and they did everything I asked for and more !!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience ! Hopefully if I am around in another 25-30 years and need another roof it will be another call to BTR !!! THANKS TAMMY, KEVIN, DAVE and especially MARTY !!! Great people , great service !

I like the firm very much but I think they have become very expensive.

Everything went relatively well. There were a couple of minor issues, but overall, I am very satisfied with the work.

2 man team arrived on schedule and got right to work. in addition to completing the job quickly, they used a blower to clean out dirty gutters. job went very well and took less time than i 'd expected. i will definitely use this company again for repairs and new roof as needed.

We were very pleased with BTR's work. When Dennis came to give an estimate, he spent well over an hour at our home, climbing onto the roof and into the attic to inspect it. He took photos and showed the close-ups to me while explaining the evidence that our aging roof was at the end of its life. He explained in great detail what improvements would be made with the new shingles, improved vents and leak barrier protection, so that I understood exactly what I was paying for and why. The work was done in two days, and the workers were courteous and professional. The clean up on the final day was a little rushed and could have been a bit more thorough, but all the big stuff was cleaned up (we found some shingles and stray nails around the house we picked up ourselves.) The roof looks beautiful, a major improvement, and people walking past our house that week stopped to comment on what good job they had done. We were also happy with the Owens Corning platinum warranty that is available only through BTR in this area, which is another reason to pick them over the competition. We would recommend BTR without hesitation.

Kevin, who was on time, gave an estimate, it was fair. The technician who performed the work was on time, and the roof seems to be repaired at this time.

Called to change the appointment time about 30 mins before originally scheduled time. Indicated that the roof had hail damage and that I needed to contact insurance. The insurance company's adjuster and another roofer I contacted indicated that there was absolutely no hail damage and that this roofer was obviously trying to take advantage of a situation. The quote indicated that the entire roof needed to be replaced did not end up being true, according to the roofing company that I went with. He did provide a quote for the patchwork only, however, the quote of $475 was over 2x more than what it ended up costing for the repairs. These guys wasted my time and made me look fraudulent to my insurance company. Don't use them - there claim of being in business for 70+ years is BS and the guy that gave the quote seriously appeared to be on drugs.

Kevin McHugh came out to the house to examine the roof and provide a quote on replacement. Initially, I was impressed with his professionalism and detailed explanation of the work that needed to be done. After getting several other comparable quotes, I decided to go with BTR. Big mistake. The work was scheduled for a couple of weeks later ? August 10, 2009. The crew arrived after I left for work and was gone before I got home. Their clean up was ok. I found a few roofing nails and some plastic and felt paper around the property several weeks after they left. At least, initially, there were no nails or debris on the walkway or the driveway. On Sunday August 16th (6 days later) it rained pretty hard for a few hours. By that evening, water had leaked through the NEW roof and through the ceiling in my living room. The leak was in the same area where the exhaust pipe for the water heater was located. Needless to say, I was shocked and very upset. I called BTR first thing Monday morning. I was told that Kevin would try to get out to the house that afternoon to inspect. I gave her specific instructions that I wanted to be present when he was there and that he should call me when he is on his way to the house so I could leave work and meet him there. I never heard from him. I finally called him around 2:00pm. He had just gotten off my roof! He did not call like I requested, so I couldn?t be there to show him the damage. His impression was that there was no leak and nothing was wrong. He said the collar around the vent pipe wasn?t sealed, so he sealed it. He claimed that it was not his company?s responsibility to seal the collar. He made it sound like he was doing me a favor. When, in fact, this should have been done when the roof was replaced. When Kevin was providing an estimate a few weeks earlier, he indicated that all collars would be replaced and sealed. Even though I hadn?t paid them yet (see next paragraph), he was acting like a completely different person than when he tried to sell me the job. He was very rude and was denying that his crew?s poor workmanship was responsible for the leak. If I had gotten this attitude when he was trying to win the job, I never would have hired them. On August 19th another company representative came to the house to do the final inspection and collect payment. I showed him the damage inside. He said he would send over some painters who would prime and the paint the area. He explained that priming the area was important since the water stains would reappear if you only painted over it. He must have mentioned priming the ceiling at least 3 times. So I understood that it was an important step in the process. My boyfriend climbed up on the roof and walked around with the representative. When they were looking at this particular vent pipe, the representative said that it should have been sealed when the roof was replaced. On August 28th, two painters came to my house to prime and paint the ceiling. They brought a drop cloth inside and set up the stepladder. One of the workers stayed in the van. The other brought in a pan w/ paint and a roller. As he started to roll the ceiling, I asked him if it was primer. He said, no, it was paint. I asked him if he was going to prime it. He said no, he was just going to give it a few coats of paint. I should have stopped him right there. But he didn?t get very far. He was rolling over part of the stained area when some of the popcorn finish rolled right off the ceiling. He stopped and said ?that?s not good.? So he stopped working and said he would get the supervisor back out here to look at the ceiling to determine what to do next. I waited and waited and waited, and nobody ever contacted me. Sure enough, the water stains reappeared through the paint. On November 11th, I woke up to find water streaming down my walls and ceiling in my kitchen. Note that this is a different area than the issue discussed earlier ? that was in my living room. It had been raining for a few days?not a hard rain, just a good soaker. I called BTR as soon as they opened ? I was livid. I couldn?t believe that a new roof had leaked twice in 90 days. Anyway, when I told them my address, they said ?oh the popcorn ceiling?. Apparently they were waiting for ME to call. The painters had specifically told me that their rep would be in touch. Anyway, they declined to schedule time to address the popcorn ceiling issue since they were so busy. I told them about the second leak and that they needed to get someone out ASAP. They sent a rep out on November 14th. The area of the second leak was around the plumbing exhaust for the kitchen. The technician could not find anything wrong with the roof in that area. He decided he would re-shingle the area just in case and hope that would take care of the issue. When he lifted up the shingles around the vent collar, he found that the collar was not installed properly. One side wasn?t secured to the roof and there was a 2 inch gap. Had he not lifted up the shingles, he never would have noticed. He explained that even though it was covered with shingles, a proper nailing pattern was necessary to prevent any gaps which would let in water. He correctly attached the collar to the roof. He confirmed that the original work was not done properly. After this soaking rain in November, I went into the attic to see if the first leak was truly repaired. When it leaked back in August, I had placed a bucket in that area to catch the water. There was actually water in the bucket! So Kevin?s claim that he resealed the pipe collar did not solve the problem. At this point, I had had it with this company. Brand new roof ? two leaks due to their poor workmanship. I didn?t want them coming near my house again. When I had a plumber over for a separate issue, he went up on the roof and checked out the vent and collar. He said it wasn?t sealed correctly ? so he sealed it. There hasn?t been any water in that bucket since then. I was very disappointed with their workmanship. They refused to accept responsibility for their poor workmanship. I was initially impressed with Kevin?s professionalism, but after the poor attitude he expressed on 8/17, I am less than impressed. The other reps were very professional. One of them was his brother and I just can?t remember the names of everyone else. They were all very professional. If you want your new roof to give you peace of mind during a storm, then don?t go with BTR. I realize that I might have to deal with them in the future if I have more issues since it?s under warranty, but otherwise, I wouldn?t recommend their roofing services.

I am happy and the work was done to my satisfaction.

I contacted BTR for a roof inspection after being told by a different roofing company that I had hail damage and needed to have my roof replaced. (I was suspicious of the initial roofing company since I hadn?t called them and they were just offering their services since they were already working in the neighborhood) Dennis Baker came to house as scheduled and completed a through inspection of my roof. Dennis found no damage that justified the roof replacement, and even though his company will not be doing any work for me right now he took the time to go over the inspection results and offered advise on how to maintain my roof in the future. Dennis was very professional and offered detailed information without any pressure. If you need a roof inspection or a second opinion I highly recommend you give Dennis and BTR Construction a call.

Dennis Baker came out and evaluated roof and provided quote per my schedule. He was professional and provided detailed info on products they use. Roof job was scheduled and completed on time. Clean up was not originally done to our complete satisfaction. We let BTR know and they made it right.

They had to come back 3 times to fix leaks and ended up replacing shingles and flashing which were not done correctly. Showed up on time and good warranty. Would definitely hire again.

We ended up going with another company that just fixed some patches. We didn't want to replace the whole roof.

They were very good. They did their job and cleaned up after themselves. They finished the work in a timely manner.

Dennis came to my house to provide an estimate to repair my roof after it leaked. He spent over an hour examining the roof and explaining my options. He was extremely considerate and helpful. I'm a first-time homeowner, so I greatly appreciated his thorough explanations. The roof is 17-years old so I expected that we would have to replace the whole thing. However, Dennis offered both an estimate for a full replacement as well as a lower cost estimate for just the repair of a small portion of the roof. He provided his time and the estimate free of charge after learning that I was an AngiesList member. We did not actually go with BTR to replace the roof. We received another estimate for $1300 less from a contractor recommended by a friend. This was a personal circumstance. If we couldn't that special deal I would've gone with Dennis and BTR due to their professionalism and courtesy.

There was nothing really remarkable about it. They were professional and punctual, I would consider hiring them.

It went very well, they did great work.
