After waiting 2 weeks for the estimate and being given a 1 hour window he arrived 10 minutes short of that closing window. No call in route or confirmation days before. He didn't know why he was here. I explained and went in the house. After not hearing him up on the roof I found him on his phone in the backyard (approx 15min) and then in his truck another 15 minutes. HE NEVER EVEN GOT UP ON THE ROOF. He handed me an estimate for full replacement and left. A total waste of time.

They were very thorough and very polite. We needed some siding to be fixed and I thought that they did siding, but they don’t. They got back to me really quick.

I've used BTR several times and am always pleased with their work and responsiveness. They understand the importance of an excellent rating from Angie's List and work hard to maintain that ratting.

They were very friendly, very professional and extremely prompt and their price was reasonable. They seemed to know what they were doing.

He was a very honest gentleman and told me that if they did a metal roof for me that I would be the first they had ever done. And then we both agreed that I didn't want to be the guinea pig for that job. The estimate on a traditional asphalt roof was competitive with the other estimates we received but his presentation materials were lacking professionalism. In response to BTR's response below: I am positive that it was BTR roofing. I have the quote for the asphalt roofing on my desk and I also have the e-mail confirmation from the form that I filled out on your website to request a metal roof quote. The products that I am interested in are the impact resistant shingles and the Decra Stone Coated Steel roof. The gentleman who came to my home informed me that BTR had never installed either of these types of roofs only the traditional metal. Perhaps it the lack of information that he received before coming to my home that led to any miscommunication if there was any. Perhaps it is my lack of knowledge of exactly how to phrase exactly what I am looking for and simply calling it a "metal roof", but I would hope that the expertise of BTR could help in that situation. If in fact, you have installed either the impact resistant shingles or the Decra Stone Coated Steel roof, I would be more than happy to have you all come out and give me another quote. At of today, 7/14/11, no one has been in contact with me regarding this review.

They were fine, and there was nothing that I disliked about them. They did what they said they were going to do and were in and out relatively quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. I had no complications with them. I did have a little trouble apparently in getting them to respond to my initial request, but I don’t think there was anything malicious. I would recommend them to others and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Every other roofing company out here has taken two months to get out here and they came the next day. They gave us two estimates and walked us through the next steps. He was very professional and came out on time. The biggest thing was that he came out the next day and was willing to work with us a lot faster than any other company we called. They hired extra people so they could get to people faster.

It went pretty well. They were punctual and came when they said they would. They did the work, cleaned up, and went on their way. I have no complaints.

They did a FANTASTIC job. They said they would get it done within 1 day and they did. It was no small task and many of our neighbors used other companies that took several days for same sized roof. Very professional, immediately responsive to any questions or concerns. No subcontractors and the work site was immaculate afterwards.

I paid a lot as it was a big section. Their proposal was in writing and was it very detailed. We got a very good idea of what exactly was going to be done and they followed through. They were very easy to work with. We scheduled it and it was completed. There was no debris after it was done and they cleaned up everything. The roof doesn't leak anymore. It's wonderful. We actually had to have a special kind of roof put on. We had the roof repaired by several different companies who were highly rated but they didn't catch this problem. We had to put a special kind of roof put on a part of the house and that seems to have solved the problem. We have not had any trouble in the year since. They are very easy to work with and they know what they are doing. They saw a problem which other companies failed to understand and were able to fix it for us.

They came at the scheduled time and performed the service exactly as they had explained they were going to. No issues and were in at 9 AM and out by noon.

They did a great job on everything. Everything went smoothly. I'm happy with their services.

I selected BTR based on their high BBB and Angies List rating and because they are the areas highest rated Owens Corning installer so only they can offer the 50-year non-prorated warranty. BTR was not the cheapest bid I received; in fact they were the most expensive. I awarded BTR the work because I expected a very high quality of workmanship and wanted the 50-year non-prorated warranty. BTR did not actually do the work but rather trucks of contractors from other companies arrived and performed BTR?s work (One gentlemen from BTR showed up for about an hour to seal some leaking gutters). Punctuality: I had to have BTR perform a second estimate so a second meeting was scheduled. I took vacation for the afternoon to meet with BTR but they didn?t show up, later saying they forgot to call me to cancel. After they bugged me over the phone several times I agreed to take vacation for a second afternoon to meet again. A few weeks later, the roof installation was supposed to start at 730AM on Friday and be completed around noon on Saturday (rain was expected Saturday afternoon). Only the gentlemen from BTR who fixed my gutters arrived at 730AM (he also expected to see the roofing crew). The roofing crew (who wasn?t BTR) arrived Friday afternoon and worked until after 8PM. They arrived again at 730AM on Saturday but had to stop around 6PM due to the thunderstorms so I had to take another day of vacation on Monday while they finished up. Everyone on the roofing crew did work very hard and continuous. Quality: Debris was thrown down onto my outdoor HVAC condensing unit, which is less than 1-year old. A lot of debris was inside the unit and the top was dented and scratched. The previous year I had a powered attic-fan installed on the roof. After the new shingles were installed the attic fan was re-installed but shifted over and down from its previous location so it didn?t even come close to lining up with the hole (~40% of the fan was blocked). When the fan kicked in, it sucked the tar paper up into the blades causing a huge racket in the attic on Sunday morning until I crawled up there and shut it off. I?m not a roofing expert so I don?t know if the work they performed is of high quality but the lack of concern for the new outdoor HVAC system and attic fan caused me to have doubts. After the spring storms in the area, news stations were flooded with reports of people with damaged roofs being taken advantage of by con-artist roofers. BTR did resolve all my issues and did not require any payment be made until I was satisfied. They promptly came back and fixed the attic fan and surrounding shingles after I emailed a picture to them. After everything, I can't complain and given the other choices of available roofers, I would definitely use BTR again.

Submitted a request through Angie's List. Scheduled an appointment with the office person who called for myself and my sister who lives on the same street. The estimator never showed up and there was no contact before or since to indicate why or to re-schedule. Needless to say, I have chosen another vendor for this service. I understand that there is a high demand at this time in my area for roofing work due to the recent storm damage, but at the very least a phone call or e-mail to cancel or re-schedule would have been appreciated.

The process was relatively quick and painless and except for the fan, you would have never known he was there.

They got here on time, they sent one of their co-owners out who stayed til the end, and they did everything to my request. Everything has been good in the first phase. They were courteous, professional, and knew what they were doing. I had three companies come out and they were the most professional and helpful with the insurance people. They've been in business a long time and have won several Angie's List awards. I think their presentation and credibility are going for them. As far as I can tell, I have no complaints. We had a couple of issues about sometimes in the contract and we resolved that with one telephone call. So far they've been very responsive and no problems yet.

Not super great. After signing contract I didn't hear from company for 4 weeks and then one morning at 7:30 (I was asleep) doorbell ring from the tile delivery man. I was like, 'huh?" He dropped the tiles in my driveway but the tile delivery machine is heavy and where he had to turn the tires marked up my driveway pretty good and permanently. Par for the course, right? Called company and they apologized - I had not been notified that my roof was scheduled for the next day. Good thing I didn't have anything planned. They did the roof and ridge vent but after they left I noticed....no hidden ridge vent. I waited a week for them to call back to collect the $$; when they came by I mentioned the hidden ridge vent (oops, we forgot) and also they had substantially chewed up one of my masonite boards when pulling off the old roof. The owner Bill agreed to replace the board -- they do not usually do this but he agreed (to my face) to do so. Another crew came out to install the hidden ridge vent (had to rip off some of the new tiles and replace them) but did not replace the masonite board; instead they just painted over it. The quality of the worksmanship seems good but it was not a smooth ride, and I especially did not appreciate being told that the board would be replaced and it was not; not sure if it was communicated to the 2nd crew who came off, but the communication in the company is not super terrific.

I though their price was a little high but they were located close to my house. They finished the work in a day. I had used them before to stop some leakage around the vent pipes and they had replaced all those. I never had any problem since then. That is why I used them again. They finished the work in one day and left by 6:30. They came the next day morning to make sure that everything was alright.

The gentleman that provide the quote was very professional and was not pushy. We came up with I think was the best solution. He could have easily sold me on extra insulation but was honest in saying it was not a good return on investment. Because I have an older roof, I expect the new shingles to stand out from the old. BTR went the extra distance in getting some discontinued shingles that match the old roof. They did there work on-time with no surprised. They did a good job with the clean up.

They did the work quickly and it appears to have been done properly. We were pleased. They were prompt.

Overall the roof looks great and they did an awesome job cleaning up. My biggest concern is their follow up and customer service. I had a salesperson who helped me finalize the contract but then heard nothing until I keep calling to get updates on when they were coming to do the job. The job took a little longer than planned, but that wasn't a concern. While doing the job, they had to replace some boards but nobody communicated this with me. Follow up and calls weren't as quick and responsive as I would have liked.

They corrected a problem another roofer did. They were great, very efficient and the price was fair for for the work. Their follow up was really good.

Met with the sales guy / estimator regarding 2 roof boots that needed replacing - Spent more time talking about BTR being an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor than my job. Despite finding the guy to be arrogant, I needed to get the work done ASAP and proceeded with a bid, etc. I was led to believe that the work could be involved if water damage had already occurred or shingles needed to be replaced, but that it would not be more than the quoted price of $415 - which is felt was very high for 2 $6 boots, a little caulk and labor, but assumed that was the high side for the unknown. Work was quality and completed in well under 30 minutes as there was no additional damage. Was invoiced for $415, so I called the sales guy to inquire - was told the price was fair (i.e., $830 per hour!) and that I should not think about the job as time and materials based - when I probed further about what was driving the cost, I was told that the job time was only a portion and that the cost included the service man having to pick up materials (i.e., basic items every roofer would have on their truck), commute time to/from the shop, and other overhead costs (e.g., Sales Guy's time). Based on retail materials costs (Lowe's) I calculated about $400 in labor and overhead, but sales guy would not budge. Conversation got pretty heated, and at one point, sales guy told me to be careful about writing any comments on Angie's List, etc. I asked if he was threatening me and he replied "Just be careful" and hung up... Needless to say, BTR will not be bidding on the roofing business for any of my properties in the future.

They were one of the companies I got a quote from. They were responsive.

They did a good job. I would recommend them to a friend.
