They did what they said they would do. I was impressed with the fact that they would actually do the window trim work and not want to replace the windows. They painted all the trim after they had replaced it. The cost was very reasonable. They were punctual.

Kevin provided a prompt and very reasonable estimate and Marty cleared the problem with great overall service! Outstanding all around...Call them! You won't be disappointed!!

I was a little disappointed in the detail of the quote. They were reasonably professional. The price was competitive.

The estimator came out Aug. 31 to bid on roofing the house. While he was there, he mentioned that BTR also does painting, which we needed, so I asked him to do an exterior paint estimate, which he agreed to do. As of Sept. 6, I had not received either quote. I called the company to follow up. Instead of offering to follow up for me, the office told me to call the estimator myself, which showed a poor customer-service attitude. I called the estimator, who told me he'd have the roof quote to me Sept. 7, and that he had passed the paint quote along to someone else who would contact me. On Sept. 9, I got a one-page roof quote via Email, with no accompanying information about the quality of the product quoted or the company itself, and no cover note. The quote was 35 percent higher for the same job than the quote from Race City Roofing. (Please see related review of Race City Roofing, an A+ experience.) No one from BTR ever contacted me about the paint estimate. Based on this experience, I would not do business with this company, nor would I recommend it.

I did not spend any money for the estimate. They were very responsive and they gave a very reasonable estimate. They were very thorough in providing the information about what the job entitled. They were good in terms of their punctuality and responsiveness. I have signed a proposal with them for doing our roof but the work has not been completed yet. They did great with the estimate process.

All went well. BTR showed up on the date and time they said they would, and did the work.

The work was completed, but during the job, someone broke into my house and took a laptop from our office while we were gone. Please be aware if you use BTR to ensure someone is at your house at all times.

The estimate was very well thought out and detailed and we were very impressed by the professionalism of the company as a whole. In the end, the estimate was out of our price range and we ended up using another provider, however if we could've afforded it we would've went with this company as we felt assured of the quality of their work based on our experience during the estimate appointment.

We got them through Angie's List. They came out when they said they would and took care of the problem. We had somebody else come out first, but that never really stuck. BTR Construction & Roofing Co. have done work for us only once. We have a fairly new house that is eight years old. They were excellent. They didn't ask to use the bathroom or even come inside the house. They knocked on the door and asked for my husband. They picked up all their stuff and looked like they were safe. They weren't balancing on the side of the roof or anything. We will use them again in the future if we need to, but I hope we won't.

Their quote was reasonable. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They answered all our questions. They were good all around. We will take work from them. I would use them in the future.

The first estimate I received for fixing the roof after we noticed some tile resting on one of the gutters was over $300. It's a good thing I was getting competitive quotes, as BTR came 2 days later and fixed it on the spot for $50!I was very satisfied and will definitely use them again in the future.

Dennis and the staff at BTR were very responsive to my scheduling needs. When Dennis came by for an estimate he spent a great amount of time getting all the details, asking questions, taking measurments. He was very thorough and gave me many options to consider. He also performed a free roofing inspection while he was here, without my asking for it. I would definitely consider this company in your bidding process. They seem fair, honest, and professional.

Great job from start to finish. Dennis gave us many options for our choice in shingles. The guys who did the installation were also very professional.

This company checked my roof for hail damage and gave me an estimate for putting more insulation in my attic. They were very professional and spent a lot of time answering all my question. They did find evidence of hail hitting my roof, but not enough damage to warrant replacement. My house has ridge vents and I asked about the need for adding an attic fan. They said the ridge venting was the best type for my roof and suggested that if we ever get a new roof, to extend the length of the ridge vent. I felt like this company was very honest and didn't try to push any products on me, unlike other companies. I would definitely use this company when I need a new roof and if I decide to increase the insulation in my attic.

Dennis Baker of BTR was very professional in quoting and explaining the scope of the work to be done. BTR's quote was very competitive. Due the number of jobs ahead of us, there was a 6 week waiting period before they could start on our house. I had previously worked with Dennis and BTR when I had them re-roof my mom's house. Because of that positive experience, I had no problem waiting for them to do work on my house because I knew it would be done right. The seven man crew was led by Sergio and Miguel. All of the men were polite and hardworking. Miguel was very helpful in answering any and all questions that arose. They worked during the three hottest days of the summer (100 deg. days) without a skip -- unbelievable. Bottom line - they did an incredible job. My roof looks great and they did a great job of cleaning up. I'm sure there are some shingle nails out there but so far I haven't seen any -- and I've looked. To sum up, if you need a roofing job, you cannot go wrong with BTR!

They were very professional, knowledgeable and prompt. They seemed like a good quality company. We decided not to go with them because their quote came in so much higher. I do know that the quality of materials may come into play but I do know that their price was substantially higher. I possibly may get another quote from them in the future.

I did not spend any money with them. They were on time, prompt and thorough.

I didn’t use them because their price was high than one of the other companies that I contacted on Angie’s List. The guy who came out was extremely nice, punctual and helpful but their rates were just a way higher than the competition. It wasn’t even close to other estimates.

Everything was fine. We were upset at one point because we thought one of our dogs had eaten some debris from the roof and we emphasized to them to clean it up really well but it turned out that it was not the case. One thing we probably had was, they did scratch up some new gutters we had put on and said they would not be able to do that. We had to get them come back out or actually reimburse us for getting those repainted. Other than that they did a great job. In terms of price, we did not compare so it’s hard to say. I did not really get any other quotes for that. I would use their services again in the future.

They never even got to the point of providing an estimate.

Mr. Dennis Baker came to quote in March 2010 and 2011. He explained service, material and details very well, then I asked him to schedule roof job. He said we need to wait about three or four weeks to get it done since there were so many rainy days that they could not work. Crew arrived at 8 and they worked very hard until 8 or 9 in the evening for first day. we had problem they parked debris cart too close to my garage door and left it over night because person who drove had tow was far away from my house would not get back. so we could not park our car inside garage on that day. one person took my paint primer to paint wood to replace for dormer for next day. Next day crew arrived at 7. job and clean up were completed around 2 p.m. They left my house without any word or greeting. They did not return my primer back and they did not finish putting primer on sidings they replaced. I called Dennis to ask return my primer back and we were awaiting to be putting on primer for sidings they replaced. He promised me to get back after he talked one of crew member. Next week woman called me from their office to set appointment for final walk through. I said that job has not finished yet and were waiting for Dennis 's response when primer was on my sidings. She said she will talk to Dennis to get back. About a month later, she called me again to set up to collect balance. I said that I did not get any response from Dennis when they come back to finish primer on. Then she switched Dennis. He said crew misplaced my primer and could not find anywhere, they said they put primer on and finished. But they asked me to pay balance since most of job has done a month ago and agree to deduct the cost of primer crew lost it. I asked woman to send me invoice, so I would pay right away. But they sent one man to my office to collect balance on that day. Dennis asked me to send pictures via email that I want to put primer on and I sent them. I also asked him to give me my money back for unfinished job, if nobody come to my house to finish it. As of today 7-18-2011, they have not responded yet. I was very pleased the roof job and hard work for three guys in crews. however, they have major issue with communications between crew and sales,as well as crew and customers. ***update***8-31-2011 as soon as I posted report, Dennis called me to explain that they placed siding board were treated as primer on. so crew did not put primer on. Therefore they did not come back. Without any explanation, we have never knew what was going on.

We received an estimate from Kevin on May 5th, and decided to go with BTR, returning the signed proposal/contract on May 25th. Picked out final shingle color/type on June 9th. When we had not heard anything by June 15th, we sent an email asking for a start date. The next day, a return email stated we would be contacted in the next week or so. When two weeks went by, I called the company and was told that we were to have a start date of the following week. Surprised by the fact that we were not notified, we marked our calendar. Early the next morning, we receive a call that there was a cancelation and that our roof could be started that morning. We had plans for the day, but agreed to cancel them and go ahead with the roof work. No prior notification of requirements for the homeowner were sent to us to prepare us for the roof work. The crew arrived at around 0930 and completed on the back of the house. The next day they finished the work on the front of the home. There were several things that we noticed during the work and after the crew left that were very concerning. They did not put new 15# paper down even after being asked about the paper once we noticed they did not put it down (this was included to be done in the contract). We were told by them that our paper "looked fine." There was debris (rubber bands, pieces of plastic, and nails all over the roof when the crew left on the 2nd day after "completing" the roof, even after being reassured that they would "sweep" the roof. There was a cigarette butt found sticking to the shingle, found by my husband when he jumped to the edge of the roof (accessible by stepping on the edge of the deck). Upon further inspection, there were other cigarette butts on the roof. I had to sweep my back deck off myself once they left because of the fine particulate shingle debris that had fallen on it. Vent covers at the back of the house are bowed up and not secure on the bottom. We were supposed to have our gutters replaced as well, but have yet to get this done until the roof is satisfactory. We left several messages with the company on July 3, 4, and 5th, hoping that someone would return our call so we could share our concerns. The company called on July 6th to schedule the gutter work to be done. My husband explained our dissatisfaction and requested that Kevin return our call, which he did the next day after my husband called the company back again because we had received an email about how to prepare our home for the roof work (it was received the day after our originally scheduled start date). This email was received almost a week after the roof job had been started. My husband shared with Kevin all of our concerns and requested that he come back out when we both are at home to talk about our concerns and inspect the home on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. Another person called the next day (Friday) wanting to come out to the home after my husband had already stated that we both needed to be here. The following Tuesday (July 12th) we receive another call from the receptionist stating she wanted to set up final inspection and payment. She was told the job is nowhere near completed and that we have concerns that we needed someone to come to the home. We were told that Kevin and Bill were to come out Friday, July 15th, at 0900. Around 0910, the same receptionist called back and stated that she wanted to set up final inspection and payment. I could not believe my ears! I asked her if she were the only receptionist and she indicated that she was. I then asked her if she remembered making the appointment for Kevin and Bill to come to our home today and she proceeded to put me on hold. When she returned to the phone, she stated that she make an error and that there would be no inspection or follow up as was planned--even after we scheduled our plans around this time. She was told to get a message to Kevin or Bill that one of them needed to call us back to reschedule this follow up. We are still waiting for a phone call from one of them--and still waiting for our roof to be done in the manner in which the contract indicated. We have given the company ample time to rectify this situation before filing our report to Angie's List. 8/30/2011Update After getting owner (Bill) to come out to the house and look at the work for himself, he finally agreed that the roofing needed to be redone; especially given the fact that we had slight water damage in three rooms since the roof was replaced. Bill was VERY nice about the whole thing and kept repeating that he would, "Make it right." Which he did. The roof was redone I think on July 25th or so. The second crew was fabulous! I believe that the lead fellow's name was Miguel. This crew pulled out all of the nails put in the roof by the other crew and cleaned the roof completedly. They then placed the felt paper and redid the shingles as it was supposed to be done. You would never have known that the crew had been there, they cleaned up so well. The gutters were done without a problem and the crew cleaned up nicely. The painter then came to complete the work inside. He did a great job as well. Very efficient and quick. He painted three ceilings by himself in just a matter of hours and no mess. I really hate that we ended up with the first crew that came out, but the situation was taken care of and we are very pleased with the final result. I am also pleased with the fact that BTR stood by their work and agreed to redo the whole process. Because of this fact, I would recommend using them. I have also updated my grading based upon work completion.

They were experienced. I would use them in the future.
