For the last few months, I have been watching my plaster ceiling in the dining room crack and blister from rainwater and when it actually started dripping on the floor, I decided it was time to have it fixed. The flat roof over the back bedroom would occasionally drip water to the point that I would keep my sofa under the leak covered with a shower curtain. I called BTR and they came out to give me an estimate on what needed to be fixed. I wish I could remember the man's name but he was the son of the owner. He said the shingles in the valley over the front porch were laid and cut straight through where they should have been overlapped. I decided to go with Hydro-Stop for the back flat roof rather than have the covering removed and reapplied. Supposedly, this product will keep that roof waterproofed for at least 10 years and the maintenance is another application if it ever starts to leak again. They showed up, as promised, the following Monday and 8am and returned for finishing work the next day. Fortunately, there was a heavy rain a day or two ago and NO LEAKS!!
Description of Work: Roof repair to stop leaks and fix incorrectly applied roofing - 4 pipe collars, repair of valley above front door, Hydro-Stop on rear flat roof, reflash rear chimney

BTR the salesman was extremely honest. He was not high pressured. He was relaxed. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable. He did not make me feel nervous or uncomfortable. He was probably one of the most honest sales people I have ever talked to. He told me that my windows were in good shape and he told me if I wanted to replace them, it would be just to get new high efficiencey windows. Also he looked at my storm windows. I recently had my windows painted 3 - 4 weeks ago, and he said I should contact the painters about my windows because they did not put some of the storm windows back in properly. He was just a sincere, geniune guy, and I trusted him.
Description of Work: They came out to give me an estimate on my windows. I have been working with AL trying to find companies to look at my windows, and AL have gone above and beyond to find me excellent companies. I have had several companies out here to give me estimates, and they were high pressured salesmen, and wanted me to sign a contract on the spot without talking to my husband. I did not feel comfortable with that. Because I do not handle the bills, and I don't know how much money we have, that is left to up to my husband. My husband makes the final decisions on any estimate that pertains to the house or finances. The estimates were very high.

They used a sub-contractor. We had some initial issues, which they fixed but there were issues with the sub-contractor that I would not recommend using this company again.

Dennis, who is one of the owners came over for the initial review/estimate. He was very nice and more importantly honest. We had hail damage on our roof, and wanted an assessment of the damages. One of the things that Dennis stressed was the high quality of the products he plans to use on our roof. We had owens corning shingles installed, which is a highly rated product in the roofing industry. We agreed to have BTR do the work, and they scheduled the job about 2 1/2 weeks later (ahead of the estimate they had originally told me). In terms of the office staff, I found all my calls to be very pleasant, with a quick response to any messages left. Overall, I was very impressed with the work done. There were approximately 10 workers, who were at my home from around 8AM until almost 8PM the first day. The second day, they started again at 8AM and were completely done by around 3PM. I was worried how the clean-up would go because of all the materials involved and the fact that my old roof was being torn off. But the cleanup was excellent in my opinon. After the fact I found just 2 or 3 nails, and a plastic bag or two which were stuck behind bushes around my house. In the end, I did have a light on the side of my house broken (most likely from the ladder), and I had one screen which was damaged in my family room (probably from fallen debris). When Dennis came over the following week to look over the job, he was very apologetic for the slight damage and reimbursed me for the costs I would incur to have them fixed (without me even asking). The only issue I had aside from the light and the screen, was that the workers left a ladder up on the house overnight. I made Dennis aware of that, and he stressed that he does not condone that, and it is a point he brings up in his bi-weekly safetly meetings. In the end, I was happy to get a new roof, and have the job done by a trustworthy company that stands behind their work. I would recommend BTR to anyone with roofing needs.

It's refreshing to get honest advice these days.
Description of Work: I thought I was going to have to replace my entire skylight, but when Dennis came out to look at it, he gave me some much easier, cheaper solutions I could try first. Dennis could have easily told me I needed a whole new $1,000 skylight, but he didn't. I was very grateful.

After signing BTR's proposal on September 15, 2011, we were contacted the "morning of" December 13, 2011 advising that the team were coming to our home to begin work on replacing our roof. Unfortunately, I was home recovering from a total hip replacement revision just days earlier. We were annoyed that we our roof was continued to be put off and previously advised BTR that I would prefer the roof be replaced prior to my surgery of 11.28.11 as I would be home recuperating from surgery. We feel we gave plenty of notice and ample time to complete the roof replacement prior to that day. Again, the call came at 8:00 AM advising they were on their way... No previous notice! Further, it began to rain that morning and the roofers were in the process of tearing off our roof. We were quite concerned that we had no protection from the rain being that the shingles were being tore off and called BTR's office. The gal my husband spoke to said she would check with the manager and contact us back - she never called us back, however, the rain did subside and the workmen continued. As the shingles were being torn off, the workers haphazardly discarded the shingles off of our home. The shingles were flying in every which direction damaging windows, screens, our home's siding, and tore off our porch light fixture. We were quite concerned as this continued and called BTR to advise. "Dave" (owner's son) came to our home to inspect. We heard him ask the crew chief what was going on and how this damage happened. I personally came to the door on crutches and advised Dave that we do not want these men continuing the job out of fear of more damage! Dave responded that "we will not even know they had been there and will clean up the mess, etc." He also advised that "I would personally have these men roof my home..." We later found out that BTR had so many roofs to complete that they hired out subcontractors. These men did not even work for BTR... this was the main reason we hired BTR "a family owned business..." The roofers packed up for the day and returned the following day to complete. In the meantime, we took pictures of all the damage to our windows, screens, siding and light fixture. On the following, the men returned to complete the job. My husband and I were in the garage at the time and noticed a ream of shingles next to the back of a tire to the roofer's towing wagon. The ream was NOT the upgraded Owens Corning "Duration" shingles (with a 110 mph wind resistence and 30 year warranty) that we were quoted a proposal and for which we signed. The roofers had apparently run out of the Owens Corning "Duration" shingles. We watched as one of the workers came to retrieve the ream of shingles and my husband watched as the worker took these shingles up the latter. This ream was the less expensive shingles "Owens Corning "Oakridge" shingles with a limited warranty and 70 mph wind resistance. We were furious at the trickery these men were pulling! My husband asked the worker (was Latino and did not speak English) what he was doing. He seemed to not understand so my husband asked to speak to his project manager. The project manager came down the ladder and spoke with my husband as my husband informed him that he saw the other workman take the shingles up the ladder, rip open the ream and begin to nail onto our roof. The project manager DENIED that these were the cheaper shingle, but my husband continued and advised they were not using these cheaper shingles. My husband insisted to see the ripped open ream and it was at this point that the project manager knew he could not deny what was going on. He then told my husband "well, it's the same color so you won't notice..." We could not believe his bravado and again called BTR and insisted a manager or someone come back to our home. Dave did not come to our home, but rather managed the situation over the phone e with this subcontractor project manager. On February 25, 2012, Chris the salesperson that gave us the estimate initially, came to our home to collect payment. At that time, BTR had NOT completed correcting all of the damage that their subcontractors inflicted upon our home. We were quite generous in working with them in the midst of this trainer of a roof job, we paid $4,000 toward the roof job to show our good faith. Many months prior, BTR advised they would repair our screens, call the Glass Doctor to repair our broken/scratched window and sent a worker to collect the screens. We did not see our screens for three (3) months and when returned, they were repaired with a cheap low-grade screen that did not match our other windows wherein the screens on the non-damaged windows was a upgraded solar type screen. There is a terrible distortion while looking out of our windows now, especially when the sun hits them and the cheap screen material reflects against the screen making our view quite hazy. My husband was burdened with purchasing another porch light (unfortunately it is no longer made and we replaced with a another that does not match). BTR's handyman came to our home and replaced the siding that was damaged and installed our new porch light. Again, at that time the screens were collected; however, not until many calls to BTR were they finally returned. Our proposal stated we were paying an extra $150 for "Platinum Promise Warranty" of which has not been given to us. The sales person "Chris" advised my husband that BTR would supply said warranty to us in writing once the roof was complete. Further, after working with Anderson Windows to acquire an estimate to repair our back patio door after the haphazardly way the shingles were discarded from our roof, we provided Chris with all estimates for repair of the operating patio door. Unfortunately, the entire operating panel of our patio door must be replaced as it is an Anderson custom made door with a low-E coating with argon gas pumped in between the panes qualifying the door for energy tax credit. If the operating panel was not replaced and/or repaired by any other company, this would void our ten (10) year warranty. We provided Chris with the estimate to replace the door with an Anderson preferred contractor to install all of which was approximately $1,110.00. Chris much later contact me and advised that he used to work at Anderson Windows and can get the door much cheaper and install as well. He advised that he would be by to get the etched in specifications to the door and will get back with me. This has been over six (6) weeks ago! I have politely contacted the office to wrap this trainwreck up as soon as possible. The person "Kim" at the BTR office gave me the mobile number of the owner, Bill. Bill contacted me back last week and said that he would be in touch the following Monday. No word from Bill as well... We are extremely disappointed with how BTR handled this situation. Again, we were quite understanding and amenable to BTR's promise in the owner, Bill's words as he came out to survey the damage: "We will make this right..." This has NOT been the case. We would like to be made "whole" and have our home in the condition it was in prior to the damage. We have made a good faith effort to work with BTR for FOUR (4) months, but continue to be put off, of course, only after we paid $4,000. We believe BTR is satisfied with this amount as payment and has chose to ignore our requests to "make this right" as promised by the owner, Bill. Per BTR's website, "... as a consumer iw that you are working with a strong Charlotte roofing company with a solid long term history of installing new high quality roofs at a fair price. BTR's website goes on to advise consumers on "how to select a contractor for your protection: Check reputation, stability and Workmanship. Also advises to "ask to see your crew chief's certified installer card."n This is a joke as the installers that were at our home clearly were not certified in roofing or they would not have damaged our home! Further, we gave BTR our business because we were looking for an Owens Corning preferred contractor and chose BTR as they tout that they are an Owens Corning preferred contractor; however, we have NO idea if the subcontractors that they sent to install our roof were preferred contractors. Further, the company BTR sent to our home was from another completely different roofing company as evidenced on one of the worker's jackets - I looked up the company and it is out of St. Louis...Our hope is that BTR will "make this right" as professed by the owner, Bill. Again, it has been much too long (four (4) months) and this is unacceptable and very disheartening to say the least

Provided a quote for removing some vinyl siding from back of my house and checking for water intrusion. He checked the plumbing boot if from attic and couldn't see that it was leaking. He didn't want to just start tearing up my house looking for who knows what. He seemed to be an honest guy who didn't want to take advantage of my situation.
Description of Work: Dennis came out to give me estimate for possible water leak from roof or through vinyl siding. He didn't actually do any work yet for me but he was on time, professional and gave me a fair quote. There was no definite proof of a water leak so he said he wasn't going to just start tearing up my house and charging me for it. I would definitely call him if I need my roof repaired or vinyl siding repaired.

We were not happy about the only notice coming on answering the previous day. There was also a round cone-top roof venilator bent severly. They came back out and checked but did not offer to repair it or pay for us to get it repaired. It is verry unsightly and we lost a lot of curb appeal in the process

Dennis came out and did an inspection and took pictures for me with my camera so I could see what needed to be done. There were 4 different problem areas. We had 4 different estimates in stages in case we did not want to do everything at once. We agreed to all phases. The job took about 6 hours to complete. The roofers were nice enough to take after pictures for us when the work was done. We were completely satisfied with everything

They sent an army of mexicans out and stripped off the roof in no time flat. They worked like Trojans! They had the job done start to finish in about 4 days and the job was absolutely beautiful. They cleaned up everything. Here is where the problem started. This company was the high bidder on the job, we selected them due to their reputation, good reviews and Owens Corning warranty. 1. They charged us extra for every rotted sheet of plywood they replaced. this ran the price up by almost a thousand dollars. This was mentioned on their bid but don't ever let a roofing company do this to you. Tell them to provide you a bid to include any wood replacement. They all have a budget for this in the price. They just came out way ahead on us on this. Based on the leaks we had and the age of the roof, the estimator would have known that there would have been major wood replacement required. 2. Not a darn one of those mexicans spoke english. We specified that BTR had to replace all flashing in our bid and the Mexicans didn't. When we got the Owens corning warranty in our hands later we noticed the the roofer is required by the warranty to replace all flashing. We called BTR back and they did come right out and do it but what this means is that they DID NOT SUPERVISE THEIR SUBCONTRACTOR. 3. The roof leaked in the very corner it had leaked at before we re-roofed, An area we pointed out to them and paid extra to have covered by "Snow and Ice" underlayment. 4. We called when we noticed the leak at first and despite repeated calls they didn't come to repair it. 5 weeks.....Yes 5 WEEKS later a bigger rainstorm came and the a 2' X 3' section of ceiling fell. Well they came out then when my wife called them and raised h***. The roofer came out and repaired it and told us it had leaked because the original army of mexicans had not tied in the two roofs correctly.....this goes back to the issue of no supervision! 5. Now instead of a brand new roof I HAVE A REPAIRED ROOF. This is what I had over $13,000 ago. There was no offer to repair the fallen plaster inside the house or refund me for the diminished value of my house due to having a repaired roof rather than a new roof...which is what I paid top dollar for. If BTR is going to use unsupervised mexicans to do roofing jobs you may as well go with a lower bid. I suspect if I had I would have got the same unsupervised army of mexicans.

Overall, BTR did an excellent job with our new roof installation. My primary challenges came with respect to them keeping in touch with me. We had initially set a date, which got postponed twice (due to weather). On both occasions, they did NOT proactively reach out to me to let me know that they were postponing, or when the new date would be. This was frustrating, as I had two other contractors that I had scheduled to work pending the completion of BTR's work. Installation went fine. Most of the crew did not speak english. The crew chief spoke broken English and it was hard to communicate with him. This was not generally a problem, though there was one case where I felt it would have been helpful. (I can't recall the specifics). They generally did a fine job with the installation and cleanup, except: There was one roofing nail left in our driveway (point up, of course) They left a large piece of foam rubber on our roof (that was retrieved by the BTR sales person when he came to get the check) The crew left a few drink bottles (trash) in our yard Overall - they did more than was requested, they did a very professional job, and the roof looks great. I would use them again.

As a highly rated company on AL, I called BTR to get an estimate on roof replacement. The very pleasant and helpful person who answered the phone gave me the option to select a date but I decided take the first available appointment, Monday Nov 14 at 0930. At 0900 on Nov 14, the gentleman called to say he would be thirty minutes late d/t "it's a Monday", indicating he was busy and running behind. 15 minutes later, he called back to say he would not be able to come and wanted to reschedule. The reason given was an insurance adjuster was waiting at someone's home. That appointment had been for the 14th but had later been changed to Tuesday the 15th. Unexpectedly, the adjuster was there now and the homeowner wanted BTR to come out. I understand that things don't always go as planned but I am big on first impressions and this didn't make a very good impression. I did not call back to reschedule the estimate.

BTR would like to thank the member for requesting an estimate for roof inspection and apologize for the scheduling conflict that interupted their appointment. BTR stands behind the steps taken by our estimator the morning of the appointment. The member was called and informed of the pending conflict with our schedule and asked to reschedule to a later time. BTR makes every effort to avoid this type of situation, however given the circumstances, BTR does not see this as unreasonable. The member declined to reschedule.

Contacted BTR to obtain quote for small gutter to be added to existing guttering on house. Had used BTR for small roof project about 1-1/2 year ago and all went well. Mid July sent request and photo and was told this is something they could quote. I followed up with multiple calls and emails and late September received budget quote in response. Took until end of October and more phone calls from me to get formal quote which I sent back to them the next day. I was told the parts are stock and they should be able to schedule work within a couple of weeks. Last week of November I called to ask if they plan to do the work or if they are not interested, please just tell me so I can find another vendor. They assured me yes, I was told I would receive a call the end of that week to firm up a date for the next week to do the work. I reminded them homeowner still has unanswered questions and we need to meet the person on site prior to any installation to be sure we understand fully what they are providing and all agree. I had told this verbally and in writing on multiple occasions, including on the quote I sent back to them. Also, during the last conversation I asked for someone while there to check a section of roof for leak. Yesterday I received a call from someone at our community gatehouse telling me he is with (another company) to do gutter work for BTR at our house. I told him to wait - no one is supposed to do that work until we are there and I would leave now to get there to meet him. I immediately called BTR to find out what is going on since they had not called me (as instructed and discussed) to schedule. The person I spoke with did not know and said they would check it out and get back with me. I told them I was leaving to get to the house and would be there in 1/2 hour to meet them. I got to the house and the guy had already left - nobody there. I called back to BTR - they still did not know what was going on they said, they couldn't get in touch with that guy. 2 reasons I wanted to use BTR: previous work that went okay and according to their listing - no subs. Don't know why this guy didn't identify himself as BTR if he wasn't a sub. Anyway, I received an email (no call) from them this morning apologizing for the miscommunication and they would get back to me after they hear from their "gutter guy". I realize this was a small project and probably not a priority to them, but it still is important to me and important to be done once and done correctly. I regretably canceled the order due to terrible communication and lack of trust. I know this year was a busy time for roofers with all the storms, but I was patient. 6 months of time and effort on my part and now I must start over.
Description of Work: no work completed - originally requested small section of gutter to be added and also section of roof to be inspected for leak.

BTR would like to start by thanking the member for choosing our company to not only bid their gutter job but also advise them on the proper way to handle their water flow problem they were haveing with their abnormal patio setup. BTR made it abundantly clear in the initial talks with the member that our schedule was very backed up for this type of specialty work and it would be quite some time before the work could be performed.

We think BTR did a GREAT job. We had an old roof that was on it's last legs, and the hail storms finally did it in. We had other estimates, and they changed if you did not sign with them after two weeks, and the prices went up. We researched BTR after looking at Angie's list. We really liked them from the beginning. They followed through on calls, and if they were going to be a little delayed, they explained how busy things were after all these storms, and were up front about that. The price was very competitive. The workers showed up when they were supposed to and worked very hard straight through the week from morning till late!!!! They always cleaned up before they left (they had to leave some major equipment, but all the scraps, nails etc.) Everyone was friendly and efficient. They did not have any strange "extra" charges that other companies seemed to hint at about underlying things that might cost a lot. BTR went through everything up front. Our roof looks great, and we aren't living in fear of the next storm!!! We have already recommended them to friends that need a roofer. Just a super pleasant experience from beginning to end.
Description of Work: WE had a complete reconstruction of the roof, gutters etc. Everything top to bottom. We had the original roof that was about 25 years old.

I would NOT recommend BTR. We got several quotes and did not want to go with a storm chaser, so we chose BTR. Their quote was reasonable (although just dropped off-he didn't wait for me to be there to do it in person). This should have been my first clue of things to come. One would think that spending 14,000 would warrant an in-person quote (typically, roof quotes are in in-depth process, often accompanied by a presentation/slide show of options, etc). Apparently, this is not part of their customer service/sale protocol. It is my impression that this small company was not prepared or equipped to handle the volume of work that they took on after the storm in the spring of 2011. The communication, all around, from the get-go was very poor. They got us confused with other customers, dates were never confirmed. The office never could communicate with the field, e-mails were sent that were duplicates, and on and on. Very poor customer service. They really made you feel like they had so much work, that your 14k didn't matter to them. The business appears to be run by two young brothers, who have not yet learned to communicate with each other and with the customer. Workman would show up and say that they office had called us-when they had not. When I called the office for dates, they couldn't tell us dates or gave us a date and then no one showed up. I had to resend paperwork and details of work to be done-several times. They claim that they will clean up afterwards-tons of trash was left behind and lots of brokedn branches, a cracked window and ripped screens and damaged stonework on the walkway. After replacing the siding, our large window leaked-they finally sent someone to repair it (a week after they said someone was coming). This was due to the flashing being installed incorrectly. They had so many sub contractors working for them, you never knew who was who and when they were coming or going. Also, we had a home inspection done after the roof was replaced. The roofers nailed boards into the shingles (to support themselves while up there) and the inspector suggested the holes from these boards be replaced-they will leak after a period of time. The quote included the attic fan cover being replaced-they refused to do it and said that it was fine. They never called or did a final inspection after the final repairs were done. No follow-up. They were very communicative and quick to call, however, when they wanted their check! They "took the money and ran", so to speak. I was hoping to write a positive review, as I am a big supporter of small businesses, but they really let us down, repeatedly.
Description of Work: BTR replaced our entire roof with architectural shingles; one entire side of house with siding, gutters and screens after the Spring 2011 hail storm.

BTR would like to thank the member for choosing our Angie's List Super Service Award winning company for their storm damage project! Their new roof, gutters, screens and siding look fantastic! BTR does not understand the purpose/motivation behind the members negative report on our company? (see our side of the story below) The estimator assigned to the members job did drop off an estimate only after talking to the member first via phone and receiving approval to do so. The member had to run out and said leaving the paperwork at the home would be great since she would not be home. Keep in mind, the member had spoken with neighbors whom we were doing work for and said she was already familiar with our work. BTR made 5 trips to the members home prior to starting any work to drop off samples and meet with the member to discuss job specifics. During one of these trips, our employee repaired a few pieces of loose metal trim wrap around the garage at no charge as a favor to the member. None of this was mentioned in the members report. As far as the statements about communication problems and poor customer service, BTR can only respond with... BTR made over 15 trips to the property throughout the entire process along with numerous emails and phone calls to communicate job specifics to the member and supervise progress. Our estimator even received a call from the member that questioned the contracted price. (this was after signing the contract) The member told the estimator she received a phone call from a competitor saying BTR wasn't charging enough and they could get her more money from the insurance company. (upwards of 20 thousand). Our estimator told her the total we were charging (appx. 14 thousand) was adequate for the job. The estimator saved the member from falling victum to storm chaser insurance fraud that could lead to a messy legal battle the member would certainly lose. Again, none of this is mentioned in the members report. If this is not adequate customer service in the members opninion, then BTR offers a sincere apology for the lack of professionalism on our part and will work hard to improve. The members claims of trash and damage from the job in their report are alarming. First, the screens were damaged from the hail storm and not by BTR but were repaired by BTR. Second, the claims of broken branches, a cracked window, damaged stonework and lots of trash left behind were at no point communicated to BTR. This report is the first time BTR has heard anything about these items. The member did a poor job of communicating this to BTR. BTR did have a roof crew, siding crew, gutter crew, and screen repair crew at the members house at different times each performing their specific tasks. These crews can not work simultaneously for safety reasons. Therefore they must come and go at different times. This is unavoidable. The member did have a home inspector inspect the job after completion. Unfortunately the home inspector misdiagnosed what he called "toe-board holes" on the roof. BTR inspected the roof and could find no holes in the shingles nor any toe-board damage. BTR feels it is unjustly accused of inadequate or faulty workmanship. BTR did repair a flashing issue that was causing leakage into a window. The house wrap behind the siding was installed behind the flashing and not overlapping the flashing. This was an honest mistake that was repaired immediately. BTR does stand behind its work. BTR did not agree to replace the attic fan cover. BTR did however suggest before the job was started that the member let BTR remove the fan since ridge vents were to be installed. The member chose to keep the fan against BTR's advice. BTR was not responsible for replaceing the fan cover. BTR received zero negative feedback from the homeowner until our accounting department contacted the member for payment. It was not until this ironic point that BTR received a negative email response accusing our company of being out of line to ask for payment. Keep in mind, BTR waited for 3 weeks to request payment. BTR would like to close with this... Our company enjoyed working with the member during the project. The members home looks amazing, the upgraded architectural shingles really add to the homes curb appeal. BTR is a local family owned and operated company located here in Charlotte since 1974 with over 25 thousand satisfied customers. We have a great reputation for a reason. We are not perfect. We are only human and we can make mistakes. However, we always have and always will stand behind our work as promised. We can only ask our potential clients to see us for what we truley are and not what a select few unpleasable clients wish to portray us as.

Not a pleasant experience. Update 10/30/2011.... Cautious but keeping an open mind. I do understand how "things" get lost/misplaced in an office. However, it's often easier, and better, to "fess-up" than it is to cover up. Will decide on contractor this week.
Description of Work: I contacted BTR via their website, filled out the request for an estimate and waited. I never got a reply. A couple of weeks later, I filled it out again but added a note that explained if they were too busy to come out, I completely understood....just let me know so I wouldn't be left hangiing.... Suprisingly, I got a call in the next couple of days and spoke to a young lady (I forgot her name) who was very apologetic and wanted to set up an appointment. I explained that I was out of town and would be for an extended period but my wife would be home and please set it up with my wife. The call was made, the appointment made (Oct 7) and the individual never showed up. My wife called up BTR and was told that their secretary was gone and they had no information whatsoever about the appointments. They also said the individual who does the estimates (Troy) was down in South Carolina and would contact her, which he did. He told my wife to call him when she would be home to which she responded, "I will be home Tuesday. YOU call me and let me know when YOU are coming out..." She never received a follow up call. I feel this was very unprofessional and with service like this I fail to see how they rated so highly on Angies List. I feel like I'm dealing with DR. Jeckyll in the office and Mr. Hyde in the field.....My wife does not want to deal with the company at all now!!!! Update...10/30/2011 BTR contacted me and arranged to come out to the house to do the estimate. This was on the 19th of Oct. I subsequently received a comprehensive estimate including information specifically covering an area that I was concerned about. I spoke to the individual about the specific concerns that my wife and I had and came away from the conversation feeling much more "assured" about the repairs to be done. I will note however, that in spite of the rhetoric, the time line is a little skewed....meaning the estimate submitted shows a date of 10/7/11. This date is the original date of contact...when the secretary was supposedly out of the office and we weren't contacted because of a lack of information. Should I choose to go with BTR for the roofing repairs, I expect the experience to be a very much improved one over the initial "contact"(s) issues that began our history.

On October 7, nobody from BTR showed up. Nobody from BTR called. I had taken the day off to ensure I was here. My home is about 6,000 square feet, and BTR was the only company I had called for a quote. But they didn't follow-through on the simple issue of making the first appointment, even though it was scheduled TWO WEEKS in advance. If this is the way that a local company sells their services and responds to potential customers, maybe I should have called one of the roofing companies from Florida that came into our area after the hail storm last Spring. I would not recommend contacting BTR.
Description of Work: Last Spring our area received a very heavy hail storm. Most of the homeowners in my subdivision have since had their roof replaced. I hesitated to have someone look at my roof because I had heard there were many out-of-state companies providing service that may have been of inferior quality. After searching on Angie's List, however, I found that BTR Roofing seemed to have a strong reputation as a local company. I called BTR and scheduled someone to come to my home on Friday, October 7. That appointment was two weeks away. I explained to the person who set the appointment that I'd need to take the day off in order to be here when the roof was inspected. The appointment was scheduled for 11:00am.

BTR would like to thank the member for requesting an estimate for roof repairs. BTR would like to apologize to the member for the error we made with our schedule. BTR has done an internal investigation within our office and has discovered a network server error that affected our scheduling software that has been corrected. Moving forward we hope to avoid a similar problem.
