BTR went to great pains to confirm the leak was with the roof, not the window. Upon completion of the repair, the BTR rep was confident he had solved the problem -- and he was right! (I discovered the leak a year before, which my initial roofer was not able to discern.) Had I replaced the window (which would have meant replacing all three windows due to a manufacurer's design change), I might have paid $2500, which would have still left me with a leak. Fixing the roof saved me both financial and mental anguish. BTR is now my roofer of record. Professional, courteous, pleasant to work with, and got the job done!

Took awhile to get them here but did good work once they did.

As owners of an 1880s home on the National Historic Registry, we are required to maintain the home to certain standards. When the original metal roof was in need of this maintenance, we checked around and hired BTR Construction and Roofing to do the service by applying an elastomeric coating to the roof. Days after completing the job, it was brought to our attention that a section of the metal roofing had not been treated. When the company rep was contacted, the response was that they did the section they were supposed to do and we're not going to do the rest: that they had not been asked to do nor, contracted to do that section, even though we wanted all of the original surface treated and that this is definitely part of the original surface. Their reason was that this section was about a two foot drop-down from what they called the upper main roof. This, even though they did do the section that is about two feet above the this so-termed upper main roof. When we are required to maintain the entire roof to standards, it is unbelievable to think that we would want this small original section over the kitchen excluded. It is also inconceivable that this was not even questioned or pointed out by the company rep prior to doing the job. Be aware, that unless you want to pay a 4% surcharge (after the fact) you will need to pay by check which they expect to pick up in person the day after they leave the job site.

They are very responsive to phone call requests and assessing the situation quickly. BTR is extremely professional and courteous and they stand by their work.

Overall it went fine. A couple of clean up issues but they were minor.

I worked with Kevin to figure out various options, then after we determined what work BTR would do, they came out and did it. The aspect I liked most was that they came out with several people who all worked on different parts of the job and did almost all of it in one day! They would have done all of it in one day except that I wasn't clear on wanting four French doors worked on rather than two, so they did those the next day. The repairs are nice and the new leaf guards seem to be working better than the old ones.

Called to get estimate and Kevin showed up the next day right on time. He assessed the damaged and provided me with an estimate via email that same day. After accepting the estimate, Marty fro BTR was there the next week on time, as scheduled. He was able to complete all work the same day and did a great job. Marty was very professional and friendly...if I used BTR again (and I am sure I will) I will ask them if they can send Marty to do the work. During the day, as Marty was working, Kevin (one of the owners)stopped by to check in with me and Marty. I could not be happier with their work or the way they treated me as a customer!

It was a Big Deal purchase. They were fine. They did a good job. They have come out twice since the deal. We have not had any leak anymore.

BTR was great - I had some trouble scheduling because of my schedule, but they were very flexible - they actually ended up coming out and fixing it on a day when no one was home, but they did a great job and followed up afterwards. They scheduled an initial appointment to review what needed to be done, and provided me with the basic fix, but did also suggest the movement of the fan and (at my request) gave me a quote on gutters. I decided to move forward with the fix and the fan movement but hold on the gutters. They came out and did the work fairly quickly (again, most of the scheduling delay was due to me!) and were reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again!

Kevin showed up promptly on the day of the estimate. He provided separate estimates for the garage and the house, since the house roof still has a couple of years of life in it. He did not rush and answered all our (numerous) questions. The day of the installation the crew came, worked solidly and fast, and did a perfect job cleaning up. They were careful with our gutters and did no damage. I gave them a B for punctuality because at the time of the estimate I was told they were running about two weeks out, but it was two months before they got to us -- and that was after I called. We have used BTR before and love them and will continue to use them, but I hope if such a lengthy delay occurs in the future, they will call to keep us informed.

They showed up one time for an estimate to seal the garage and seal a piece of rotten wood by the garage area as well. They never contacted me back after the estimate to let me know when they could do the work. I never ended up having the deal honored. The technician seemed trustworthy while he was out. It did take a while to get in touch with them initially and scheduled out. They were pretty booked up. I am not sure I just was forgotten about and would like to know what happened.

It was very good. They made call to make an appointment and they were here during that time that they specified. I wouldn't have a reason not to. They performed the task that I requested. They were prompt and courteous.

Easy to schedule. Easy to work with. I would use them for future jobs.

I trust them. Their work is great. They are dependable, honest thorough, and I would use them in the future. I highly recommend them.

They did great! There were no problems or any issues.

Workers showed up each day @7:30AM and worked for three straight days until 6PM. They did an excellent job in installing without need for intervention. They cleaned up completely and had a guy to come by the next day to insure all nails and shingles were completely cleaned up. BTR did not try to collect immediately, but set up an appointment to review installation and pay for the work done. I would recommend this company to anyone and will use them again in the future should I need them. They did a fine quality of work and had the best warranty of three quotes I received backing their workmanship along with the warranty provided by the shingle manufacturer.

We have used BTR in the past for several different services. We have always been happy tith them.

However, we tried several times to fax the copy of the estimate back for the work we wanted done. They kept saying they weren't getting it. I finally emailed it to them, and they finally said they got it back in August. We have tried since then to make an appointment with no luck. I have left several messages on the Angies List message board (where we had done most of our communication). The lady responded to my inquiries that she would have someone call, but nobody ever did. She even stopped replying to my messages on Angie's List. We purchased the service in March, and we are tired of chasing them, and would like to just start over with a new company. (((September 23 is the last time she responded to my messages. I wrote again in October, but received no reply through message nor phone call.))) Thanks!

In July, I purchased a deal on Angie's list and the repairs were made in August. This took longer than I would have liked, but apparently the deal was very popular. I am happy with the repairs and would use this provider again.

the Service provider never contacted me

I had purchased the maximum wood rot repair deal available on Angie's List when I saw it pop up. I think it was a half off deal for $200 worth of work, which was to cover up to four hours of a single worker, or 2 hours total of two workers. It would have been a wonderful deal - if they had stuck to it. One of the company's owners came to do an estimate of the work, in advance of sending the workers. He indicated that it would likely take two workers all day to remove the window, do the restoration, then replace the window, and repaint all the new siding. Then he gave me what I took as a worst case scenario price, that I thought looked very fair for all that work, which I assumed would require scaffolding, etc. To have that maximum, worst case price gave me great comfort, and I really looked forward to the guys coming. A few weeks passed, and with every rain, I started worrying again. With their half-off special, I figured they must have gotten fairly backed up. I finally called them again, and the office worker who answered indicated that they would be coming in the next couple of days. Then one morning, Marty Segritto arrived by himself, and with just a ladder. What an amazing man! He has done this work for years, and he knows it coming and going. He made sure we would be protected on the inside before he went to work on the exterior. Then he ran up the ladder, took it all apart (though I don't think he had to remove the window), popped in the replacement plywood wherever it was needed, sawed up the replacement cedar siding and nailed it in place, then, before I could blink, came asking for my extra paint to paint the new siding and trim. Now, it just seemed to me like the whole thing just took an hour or two. It actually took about three hours and fifteen minutes, with no muss, and no scaffold. I was thrilled. I figured the package I purchased for up to four hours for one worker would cover ALL the labor. We had enjoyed a BEST CASE scenario. I figured we'd need to pay for the materials of course, but that had been estimated to be around $100, so I thought we had really lucked out. Marty was wonderful. Since we hadn't gone to four hours, without our asking, he even went back up on the the roof and blew all the leaves off our gutter guards. This guy really aims to please. He even helped us avoid future potential rot problems by doing that. Then the price tag was presented. Marty said, that regardless of how the job had gone, he had been told that he had to ask for us to pay for the worst case scenario, and he handed us the pre-prepared invoice. I was really shocked. He said I would need to call the office to pay any other amount. So I did, and spoke to the same fellow who had done the estimate. It was not a pleasant conversation, though I was - on my end. It made me feel that the whole half-off deal was just nonsense. His "estimate" made sure that they would charge much more than even their "normal" rates. If the job had taken the two guys, the scaffold, and most of the day, I would have been very happy to pay even their normal prices - never mind the "deal" I had pre-paid. After a long unhappy conversation, I finally persuaded the owner to allow me, based on their supposed regular prices, to have me pay him for two hours of his own travel time to come to do the estimate, PLUS two hours travel AND actual work time for the worker, plus materials. Not such a great deal - based on what I had thought was the proposition. But it was worth it - given Marty's exceptional skills and lovely personality. I will gladly hire the company again - assuming Marty is the guy who comes again... AND with a clear communication up front that I will be paying for ONLY what I actually get. If they want to charge $100 for the estimate, if we go ahead with the job, so be it. I just want them tell us up front. It's great to have a worst case scenario cap, and that surely is worth a charge for the estimate. And if they have been doing this for years, I imagine they KNOW pretty well what it will really take. But, I think the final negotiated price was very fair - given Marty's abilities and attitude. Just get everything truly on the table BEFORE they do the work, and you can have a pleasant experience from beginning to end.

They did such a great job, I hired them to replace leaking skylights in my sunroom. They did a great job there too!!

Excellent job. Blends well with existing fascia. Made the repair and left area clean. Will use again.
