Hardware & Home Improvement Stores
First, it was the horrendous handling of my order and installation that took 6 weeks to get done with no contact or assistance from anyone on the home depot side. Repeated calls and questions were raised and I was NEVER called back. This was an installation of a Rheem Marathon water heater. They do not stock them in the store but they are available and in stock for delivery. The details are attached at the end of this writeup......please read it!
I went to the store to complain after the installation was complete and the department manager and asst store manager took my info and said the store manager would call me. Two weeks later.......still no call. I called the store and again told my story and they promised I would be contacted. I was not.
I then filed a complaint on line and did get a response. However, the expeditor assigned was no better than the other groups in Home Depot. He first summed up all the issues as that I was unhappy on the store not calling me back after the job was complete. He then considered the matter closed when he got my job invoiced and obtained a copy of the manual for me. He wanted to know if there was anything else he could help me with totally ignoring all that happened. When pressed by me he started to blame the installers(Quaity Plus systems), who are Home depots installers. I told him this project was all home depot and the installers represent them. I asked about all the delays, no returned calls , misleading statements by the company. His reply was that they were busy and the person responsible would be "talked to"
He was totally oblivious to why I was upset over all the issues and then offered me a $50 gift card, expecting me to jump at it. I told him I was insulted by this
