We secured 3 bids on the job prior to making our selection. Diversified was the only company that gave us a written estimate on the spot, offered 1 1/2 day installation (others offered 3-day only), and brought a sample of their higher quality wood grain vinyl for our review. Estimates for this type of fence ran from $7,500 - $17,500. Installers were professional and very accommodating as well as efficient in meeting the 1 1/2 day installation that we were promised. We would highly recommend this fence company to anyone seeking quality products and honest estimates.

We had just purchased our home and wanted a fence for our animals in the backyard. I called several providers and got as many quotes. I found right away that Diversified Fence was the most prompt to respond with getting someone onsite to see what my needs were, and got me a quote right away. Jason and Linda seemed awesome. And with all these stellar reviews here on AngiesList, how could we go wrong? They were prompt in getting a deposit from us and set an installation date for about two weeks later. The install went fine and on time, but when we discovered that the fence left a 4-6 inch gap at the bottom of the fence over a long stretch, we found this unacceptable and even after being assured of "Satisfaction Guaranteed" by Linda over the phone as she took our final payment this is where our problems started... We called right away and Linda tried giving us the brush off and run around. About a week later, I emailed Linda photos of our fence issues, and when finally got her on the telephone (she was dodging my calls at this point - more on this in a moment), she assured me that Jason would be contacting me the next day. We waited...and waited...and waited... A week after this we tried getting a hold of Diversified Fence again, and we found that by we had to use different telephone numbers in order to get someone on the phone (it would appear that they are using CallerID to dodge calls). Finally after some very rude and condescending conversations with Linda, Jason got a hold of us and he informed us that he was just now hearing about our issues and he assured me that he would take care of things right way - oh, but wait, he was too busy to get to us right away...so we had to wait another week. .Once he arrived, my wife and I had to argue a resolution with the fence to where we would be satisfied with them installing a couple of 2x4's and a 2x6 at the fence bottom to close up the gaps. Jason continued on and on and on about how the fence needed to be straight, even though on another section of fence it was not straight and followed the contour of the yard - which we pointed out. We finally had the workmen out yesterday (March 31st), even though Jason assured us that he would be handling this personally. Jason called me to say that his workmen were already at my house and had completed the job. I went there and found that they had not completed the modifications to the fence according to our previous meeting. When I got Jason on the phone, he was incredibly argumentative (to which he later apologized because he was busy at a Trade Show). In any case, the workmen went out and procured a few more 2x4's and completed the tasks correctly. In the end, I found that this was a very pleasant and professional company from the start, but upon having problems - they just lost all care for our satisfaction. To recap... * Our fence was installed quite well and timely, and it looks great, just that it would not have been able to keep our pets inside the fence area (this is the NUMBER ONE reason we got the fence) * Linda the office manager was rude and condescending on the telephone when I brought our concerns to her, not to mention the phone call dodging. * Jason was argumentative and difficult to deal with. * Final repairs were done incorrectly the first time, and it took a bit of arguing with Jason to get them corrected to our original agreement. * Additionally, the gate for our driveway scraped the concrete, lots of installation trash (tags from the boards, bits and pieces of concrete bags, etc) was left all over our yard, and neighbors yards - this I cleaned up myself, and several of the posts were not filled in all of the way. In the end, I wish I had chosen another company to install our fence. The amount of stressed this caused for my wife and I was unacceptable, and I hope that no one else has to have such an interaction with Diversified Fence again. If you're reading this review, I hope that you take this into account before choosing this company to handle your fence installation.

After the fence was installed, I had some concerns about a couple of items. I paid in full for the service and was assured by Linda that everything would be done to my satisfaction. I can honestly say this is one of the only companies that I have ever worked with that strives to please their customers 100%. Even though they had been paid in full, they did not stop until all my concerns were addressed and I was pleased with the fence. I would have no issues recommending this company. They will work with you until you get the product you want.

Jason was awesome and so was Linda! I had a few snafus with getting the permit and they handled it well. They were quick to schedule the installation (less than 2 weeks!) and the crew arrived as promised. Of the many advantages with this company, the one that stood out was - they use cedar pickets, boards that last longer. I definitely wanted cedar and that is Diversified's standard... you have to pay more with other companies. Highly recommend.

I got them from Angie's List and they're good. They're local. I had to call them back to switch locks around. They did come out and turn those around for me. Everything wasn't exactly what we talked about. We made the changes but it wasn't exactly what we talked about. There were a little bit of communication issues. They were punctual.

The customer service is where this company really falls down. Don't be fooled by the polite and timely follow up after the estimate. I had to initiate every communication once I gave them the down payment. I spent hours waiting for them to show up - even before it rained significantly and pushed back the schedule. They couldn't give me an accurate time of arrival even the same day (for instance the first day they were going to come in the morning, then it was noon - they actually came around 3:30). What was really disappointing was how often I had to initiate contact; I eventually realized they may have been telling me what they thought I wanted to hear vs what was actually going to happen. The quality of the fence is okay - there are a number of nails that are crooked - which is unfortunate but perhaps that would happen in any situation. They did a nice job working around trees. The removal of our old fence was difficult, so I wasn't surprised that many of our plants were trampled and lost as I had to expect that to happen; they managed at least to clean up most of the old fence and only left some pieces behind for us to deal with. If I were to do it again, I would choose a company that actually performs the work (vs using subcontractors) - perhaps they may be incented to have a better handle on the schedule and ensure customers are content with the service. After expressing my frustration, I was told by the sales person that since I don't have a background in construction it is likely difficult for me to understand the challenge in scheduling. I would expect with their vast experience they would be able to predict that and could even take the step to be proactive in notifying me when they would to show up (especially if it was going to not even be that day). I don't know what I did wrong in dealing with these people vs all the other reviewers here who had positive experiences. Perhaps I am more annoyed than most of the other reviewers since I had to miss hours of work waiting - so this fence ended up costing a lot more than the price I paid them.

I can honestly say having my new fence installed by Diversified was a pleasure. I had just bought a new home and needed to have a fence built for my three dogs before I could move into it. The fence was installed right on schedule and after almost two months I have yet to find a single thing wrong with it. Everyone I dealt with at Diversified was knowledgable and efficient and I never once felt like I had made a mistake choosing this company to help me with this project. I would especially like to thank Linda for happily taking my numerous phone calls and for going out of her way to help me through the process. She was efficient and made a process that was a little scary to me a lot of fun! Thank you all for a beautiful fence. It's exactly what I wanted!!

This company was very responsive. Jason came out to our house and had an estimate to us in a timely manner. He was also very polite and knew what he was talking about. When the work was actually done the 2 men that they had install seemed very knowledgeable. They did have to make an appt with 511 and I am so glad they did. Even where we had the old fence there was underground power lines that could have been cut if they used the post hole digger. The fence looks great and they cleaned up. We are going to have them finish some followup work in a month or so. The receptionist is very knowledgeable about crew schedules and got back to us with any questions that we had when the project was completed.

The gauge of the wire on the fence was a little less sturdy than I expected. I expected a higher quality of fence. They were fine. They were good. They did a good job installing. They came on time. It was more money than I expected for their quality.

It was great. Jason is efficient and knowledgable, made the whole process easy and professional. i felt great about the company even before they started the work. i had gotten other quotes, some lack luster responses, and picked DF easily. They worked with me on scheduling and came right out as soon as the weather permitted. They built the fence in one day and it is a beauty. i was just amazed at the quality of the materials, how thick the posts were, how sturdy the gates, etc. I plan on using them again in the future. It was a real pleasure and I got a great quality product in the end.

They exceeded my expectations.

These guys were the best! Jason came out the same day I contacted him and gave a quote that was very reasonable. They kept in touch with us about the install date and were prompt in making that date. Although we were not home when they installed the fence, they completed it in one day and to more than our satisfaction. The both the materials and the construction of the fence are excellent. They cleaned up so well that it didn't even look that had been there. I highly recommend these guys for fencing and gate work. I couldn't be happier.

For this particular job, I would say I was a pretty difficult customer. I was not sure on the type of fencing I wanted or the configuration I wanted it built in. I was first quoted for a 6' wood shadowbox fence, that based on a wooden fence I had built at my other house, seemed very reasonable in price. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel that fencing order. They were very understanding and canceled it upon my request. When I was in the position to get another estimate, I had changed my mind both in the material I wanted and the configuration. I ended up getting a 6' black chainlink fence around the perimeter of my yard with a secondary privacy fence between myself and my neighbor. I had decided on two fences because I really wanted to be able to see the woods in my back yard, but also wanted to reduce the stress that my neighbor was feeling with me having two bigger dogs. Jason, the estimator, was very accommodating, nice, and knowledgeable. He made many recommendations to help me find the type and configuration of fencing that would make me happy. I was concerned that the 6' chain link fence would have a "correctional facility" look to it, but I can tell you, it is beautiful! Both fences are! The gentlemen that came to my house to do the work were very friendly and completely cleaned up after themselves. Comparing this experience to the experience I had going through Home Depot for my other fence, I would say that this far exceeded my expectations, especially in service! They did a terrific job! Always on time, very responsive and pro-active, plus they built a beautiful fence. Beat the Lowes price by $1000. We had a little hick-up with the latch and Jon took care of it immediately and did not stop until we were 100% satisfied. We wish everyone conducted themselves and provided the quality service and construction that Diversified did. Highly recommend.

It went great! Jon Folsom was very professional in his estimate and actually gave me the estimate before he left the property. He was the only one who mentioned getting a survey done before the fence was put in. Linda, in the office, followed up with me regularly to check to see if we made a decision but she was not pushy about it. She was very helpful when I had questions. The guys who did the actual work were very fast and efficient. Overall, it was a great experience, and we have a great looking fence!!

We found this company through a referral. John, the owner, responded quickly with a visit and discussed options for fencing our yard and installing gates. We wanted something attractive and upscale but, of course, at reasonable price. We were also concerned that the work be done efficiently and in a timely fashion. As picky consumers, we had already contacted and rejected two other local companies whose representatives behaved as if they were doing us a favor by coming out. John took the time to discuss all options, ordered the materials quickly and installation was efficient and timely. The team of installers were respectful of our yard and flowers. During a particularly rainy season, they still managed to install what we consider a beautiful fence in one day. We found John to be punctual, responsive, easy to get in contact with, and diligent about inspecting the job. We are very pleased and recommend this company without reservation.

Response was immediate, and Mr. Folsom was punctual and professional. He had some really good ideas for fencing in my yard, which I was doing mostly to deter deer from eating my perennials. Diversified Fence provided an estimate very quickly, and it was right in line with other fence builders in my area. In the end, I chose another company, but I highly recommend Diversified Fence Builders.

Overall, we're satisfied with the fence.
