The work was done in two separate jobs. Though I was told the spray insulation would be done first, that got delayed several times by larger jobs they had to do, as well as an issue they had with their spray truck, which delayed the work at least a week. My job took second fiddle (multiple delays), and it was over a month before that work was eventually completed. The crawlspace insulation was replaced in a day and the guys did a good job on that.

This was a new house under construction.
I talked to the salesman and went over all the work supposed to be performed. Including an all batt installation, air barrier to be installed, batts cut for wiring. etc.. He seemed attentive and wrote things down.
Then they sent 3 Mexican subs with no instructions, the wrong materials, and a poor grasp of the English language.
They didn't install the air barrier, after I paid the carpenters to frame for one. They were about to blow the insulation in the attic (with no ceiling covering), until I stopped them. No batts were cut and many spaces in the wall and ceiling the batts weren't cut properly and gaps are apparent. Also the baffles in the soffit were installed improperly and without care.
The plastic in the crawl space looks ok.
I'm glad I was able to be there to supervise or I suspect it would have been worse. Much worse.

As a result of ABS's work, I have a persistent smell problem in my home (a two story single family brick home) caused by an insulating spray foam product that was applied in my attic spaces  in August 2012. After the installation, I experienced severe irritating smells in my upper floor living spaces which caused eyes to be irritated and coughing and congestion resulted. The smell was so bad  that I couldn't use my second floor living spaces that adjoin the attic spaces. The smell permeated the first floor as well on frequent occasion. Other contractors suggested that the product was likely poorly applied, likely in an "off-ratio" situation (i.e., two component chemicals not applied in the correct proportion). ABS did change out existing conventional insulation (blown in and batts) saying that it was likely the source of the smell (i.e., that it absorbed some of the spray foam smell when the foam was applied) ...  that action did NOT correct the smell. ABS would do nothing further to correct the situation. Ultimately, in November 2012 I had to have the foam removed (scraped and ice blasted out of the roof deck and rafters) at MY great expense and great inconvenience. I also had to re-insulate the attic spaces with conventional insulation and had ceiling penetrations into the attic sealed. I also installed roof fans to exhaust air from the attic spaces. A good deal of the smell has been eliminated through these efforts. Unfortunately, there remains a residual smell which has a woody character to it, makes ones nose and throat dry out, and causes congestion. It is impossible to locate exactly the source of the smell when entering the attic spaces or detect how the smells are migrating into the second floor living spaces. It may be that the roof deck and rafters have absorbed some of the chemicals when originally applied. My initial thought was that the smell would exhaust itself over time but unfortunately it persists and it has been over a year since the foam was first applied.
I found ABS totally unprofessional, unwilling to stand by its work, and unresponsive in getting back to me when I called or emailed. They are by far the worse contractor I have ever worked with and have caused significant probelms to me and my family. It has been a horrific experience!
