Reimels Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

I have been a patient here for the past 4 years and as long as they are in business, I will not look for another dentist. Every person that I have encountered here is professional, courteous, and genuinely concerned about your experience as a patient. Scheduling is easy and I appreciate little touches like a sturdy, laminated postcard appointment reminder and day before text messages and emails to ensure I don't forget my appointment. There are several dentists here (I have seen 3 of them) so you have some choices if there are any issues and I love how all of the hygienists "float" and are not attached to a specific dentist. This helps ensure that your appointment time is the time you are actually seen, and that matters to me. Last but not least, they take care of our kids (2 and 4 years old) which is another big deal to me as some dentists will not see children that young. Their set up for kids is top notch with iPads in the waiting rooms and tvs for them to be distracted while they get their exam. I simply could not ask for a better provider and a better patient experience.

They are also so friendly and the office is very clean. They always make you feel comfortable when you come in. I have loved using them.

I originally went in because they were offering cleanings and fillings for veterans. After the exam they discovered that I needed a root canal and were able to do that for me. Throughout the process they made sure that I wasn't in any pain. They did x-rays before and during the root canal to make sure everything everything looked good. They were professional.

I use Reimels Dentistry. I will use them again if needed.

First I waited 45 minutes to see the male Dr Reimel.  When he finally came in (after going across the hall to someone else he thought was me) he sat down and asked why I was there.  He asked me to smile really big.  Then he proceeded to tell me that I have periodontal disease.  He said I was not a candidate for bonding but perhaps orthodontics could fill in the spaces for me.  I am 58 years old and I have receding gums which I know because my regular dentist has been watching that recession for years now.  I go every 6 months for regular cleanings and care and I have done that since I was 20 and working with dental insurance.  No dentist has ever told me that I have periodontal disease.  He is a young doctor and asked me how old my dentist is.  My dentist is younger than I am.  I was quite offended.

I need to say this upfront: I do no like going to the dentist. At all. I was a little worried at first when checking in. They make you fill your info out info on these wipe-off laminated sheets which, I guess, cuts down on paper. One page had some one's else's credit card info on it so I skipped filling that out.
Once I got back in the office, though everything changed. Everyone there was SO NICE. They tell you everything that they are doing. My hygienist (Marilyn I think?) was fantastic! Dr. Reimel was just as awesome, too! He's easy to talk to and pretty funny as well. He even said that I didn't need some work that my former dentists said had to be fixed immediately. I left feeling great about the visit and my teeth!
A couple of days later, I got a HAND-WRITTEN thank you note from Dr. Reimel. Who does that anymore? I was completely sold at that point.

Upon arrival we asked the front desk staff, "Do you take our dental insurance?" We also mentioned that our insurance provides free yearly cleanings.  The receptionist replied, "Yes, we take that insurance".   Then we were billed a total of $235 for cleanings (No other work was performed.)
Once we received the bill we contacted the office and brought this to their attention. We were told we do take your insurance but you are out of our network. Something that is of extreme importance because being "Out of network" turned our free cleanings (which we had at other offices) into a $235 charge. But it seems taking the card and making a photocopy of it was possibly what she meant by "taking our insurance".
Yes the office, dentists, hygienists, etc are all nice and do good work BUT telling patients that they take their insurance, waiting until after the services are performed and refusing to reverse the charges due to their error makes it very difficult for us to recommend Reimels Family and Cosmetic Dentistry of Huntersville.
We truly wish we did not have to write a negative review (as you can tell by our positive review history) but wanted to prevent this from happening to others in the future.

They are prompt, when they say you have an appointment at 3 o clock, you get in at 3 o clock, they are extremely clean, and extremely professional. The interaction with the dentist is excellent. The facility is modern, very current, and clean.

My toothache came on Friday night, and I kept taking pain pills until the office opened on Tuesday (they are closed on Monday). When I told Dr. Reimels about the onset of the pain, his immediate response was "You can always call the office number, day or night, and someone will see you, even during the weekend." The doctor is very friendly and funny. He puts you in a very comfortable mood immediately.
The dental hygienist is very gentle. They will numb the areas that are too sensitive, although I did not need that (my husband will need it). Our former dentist's hygienist did not even discuss the possibility of numbing.  
My treatment came with 2 possible options: more expensive (porcelain that looks really great) or cheaper (regular). Our former dentist did not offer any options, he just told us that it will cost extra. We appreciate the fact that Dr. Reimels always give us choices when possible.
Another tooth needed a root-canal, which required more technology than Dr. Reimels had. Dr. Reimels asked the endodontist to finish the filling, instead of putting a temporary filling. It was because it would have costed me extra if I had to come back to Dr. Reimels' office to complete the entire treatment. He seems to care about the patients very much.

The front desk staff was very friendly and efficient and I had almost no wait time for my appointment.  They were very thorough with their exam taking full X-rays and a evaluation of my teeth and gums.  The hygienist explained everything and made me feel comfortable and at ease.  The dentist Dr. Miller was very thorough also and explained what he thought would be the best way to handle an issue I have with a deteriorating filling on a molar.  I will be going back for more treatments in the future.

He did a very good job. He is a very good dentist and is very professional. He gave me his home cell phone number to call him if I have any problems, and no doctor has ever done that for me. His customer service skills are above and beyond. He did the procedure very well. He is very professional, friendly, and I couldn’t praise him enough. The office is very nice, new, and modern. It is a great place. The staff is very nice and professional. They also accept Medicaid.

Very professional. They are a paper free office which is great. For a first visit it was very thorough (almost 2 hours). They explained everything they were doing while it was being performed. I had to go back a week later for a small filling. The filling process was the best I have ever had.

Setting the appt is easy with a friendly staff. Have had to reschedule a couple of times but will get in with them.

Came to Reimels as a second second opinion. Really appreciated Dr. Mikes evaluation and recommendation. Finally an answer I am comfortable with. Aggressive treatment plan included multiple appts and both my son and I are very pleased with how the appts went and results. Great caring staff.

They were fine. They did a good job. I had some problems and they got them fixed as quickly as they could on my schedule. Their office is really nice and the people are really nice. Their staff is very friendly and thoughtful. They are willing to work around my ridiculous schedule. It would be great if they have Saturday hours.

Let me start this review by saying I'm terrified of dentists. As far as I'm concerned they evoke a terror usually reserved for big toothy sharks in bloody water. So when it became obvious my toothache was not going to get any better it took me a few days to work up the courage to search for one.
I did some checking and knew I wanted a dental office that offered sedation dentistry, and of course one that was trustworthy. I Binged, Googled and checked various sources (including Angie's List) then made an appointment with Reimels Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. They had a good reputation and offered sedation.
I spoke with them and they got me an emergency appointment for later the same day. I went in and once shown back was really just trying to focus on not making a run for daylight, or doing something equally embarrassing. Once Dr. Miller came in he got to work setting me at ease while asking a few questions about my history. Afterward he did a quick check up and a few xrays then informed me (and frankly I'm impressed I handled it so well) that a root canal was in my immediate future. Knowing how well I don't do when it comes to dentists he immediately went right back to work making me feel at ease (and even making me laugh once or twice).
After discussions with him, during which time he very patiently answered all my questions and then some, I decided maybe (just maybe) I could do this without sedation. He assured me if I got to the office and felt I couldn't actually do this without sedation we could reschedule at that time (as it takes longer and is a bit more involved). We made an appointment a few days later and he sent me home with some prescriptions to help manage pain until then, plus antibiotics and everything else I needed. I liked this as it allowed me to be totally ready before the day came, so I wouldn't need to go to the pharmacy afterward.
Fast forward to the procedure itself. Everyone was phenomenal! I was made very comfortable (the Reimels facilities are almost spa-like, by the way.. clearly designed around not being 'clinical and intimidating'). Dr. Miller made sure I felt almost nothing during the procedure and while I can't say it was even remotely pleasant it was also not the horrible experience I was bracing for. Every time I indicated I was starting to feel pain the doctor stopped to numb the area more before resuming.
Once the procedure was finished they gave me the option of a temp filling and going home right away vs. waiting approx. 90 minutes while they fabricate what they need to rebuild and seal permanently. As long as I was there and numb I opted to wait and was made very comfortable. At one point during the wait I was just reading my kindle and actually tapping my feet to the music I had been blasting earlier, and was now listening to at a more normal volume) to drown out the drill. Now that was a surprise when I caught myself doing it - relaxing and tapping my feet to music just minutes after a root canal while I waited for 'round 2', go figure. In total it was a few hours, including the wait for the fabrication, but true to the doctor's word by the time I left the clinic I was worlds better and more or less back to myself. Since arriving home I needed only limited pain meds, which is another plus. It's also very much worth noting that because of the above he actually ended up saving me several hundred dollars on the final cost vs. what I had been advised the total cost would be.
All and all I'd say I've found a new dentist.

My appointment was at 11:00 AM and due to an emergency I had to wait approx. 45 minutes.  I couldn't count the number of apologies I received from everyone.  Yesterday I received a letter from the office, once again apologizing and a gift card to Starbucks for the inconvenience.  WOW...who does that these days!!!  Everything went smoothly and my crown looks awesome!  Each step was explained to me as my procedures were done and my dentist made sure that I was comfortable and pain-free at all times.  One of the top two dental offices I have ever been to and I have been to many.

It when great.  Everybody was professional, but friendly.  The office I was in had a great view.

Over the past five years I have been very satisfied with Dr. Reimel's (both husband & wife) care & their staffs attentiveness to patient care and comfort.  I see them for my bi-annual cleanings, - Dr. Kate Reimel's did an expert job filling a cavity.
Even more impressive was how both Dr. Mike & Kate did an excellent job reworking my wife's dentures after another Dentist botched the origianal work.
This place is top-notch.

Warm greetings from all the staff. Excellent communication during procedures. Took time to show me the x-rays and discuss options with me. Very professional and I felt some of the best dentistry I had had in many years. Taking my 11 yr old to them on the 30th!

It was a positive experience and I will review in further detail after my next visit when I have some dental work done.
