I had used Barewood for several years. The prices increased every year while the job task stayed consistent and the cutting mediocre at best. High spots on my yard were often scalped leaving bare exposed spots with no grass; no attempt was ever made to repair the damage. On the communication side of the house, it is nearly impossible to get ahold of a live person. I would often leave messages and hope for a call back, but more often than not, my call would go unanswered. The biggest issue with the company is its charging practice. In particular cancellations. I spoke to the owner mid-month and informed him I would no longer need their service after my next cutting. Not only did they “Forget” to perform my next cutting but ~3-weeks later I was sent a cancellation invoice and a late fee. Word to the wise: breaking up will be hard to do!!!! I certainly was not informed of this FEE or cancellation policy when we had the nice chat about cancelling their service. There are many other yard cutting service people who are honest and will communicate effectively. I suggest you AVOID and spend your money elsewhere!

Called Barewood Services based on a positive experience from a neighbor. Modern equipment and very professional. They arrive on date/time promised. Crew worked very hard and did a great job cleaning up when finished. Price was very reasonable for the work they performed (they spent almost 12 hours onsite to finish the work). No damage to driveway or plants. I will certainly use them again.

They did a great job cutting down some unwanted trees near our house. They cleaned up afterwards you would hardly know anything was done. Only drawback is they are so booked up it took a long time to get here but it was worth the wait. I would definately hire again!

We used to use them all the time. We fired them because of the individual help he had. He is a great guy and his prices are good but the individual help he had wasn't good.

I just moved here and the landscaping was very overgrown. One tree completely covered my heating unit. They cleaned the whole yard, showed me what kind of bushes they are, and what had to be done to make them healthy again. The yard looks beautiful.

After a tree cutting company failed to show up all of last summer 2012, a neighbor referred us to Barewood Tree, whom he had hired frequently to trim nearby road for our Creekside HomeOwnersAssociation at Porter's Neck. Barewood showed up on the agreed upon week, and spent the day carefully taking down and hauling off the identified trees and hauling off the debris from them, as well as a huge bush blocking the view to creek, and overhang of tall trees up and down driveway. What a job. Arrived promptly at 8:00am and the three very experienced men carefully worked through all the projects until they were done, at end of the afternoon.
We were so happy to have this project d-o-n-e, after had been OK'd by our HOA over two years ago! Extremely reasonable estimate for the job had been given to us by Haywood, the manager/owner, and the team stuck to it. We've been here ten years now in a very wooded section of New Hanover County out here on Futch Creek, struggling to find a competent tree taking down company, who can respect all of our other trees while doing the job! Worth every penny, and more.

The trees were removed (palm trees must be taken out from roots ) quickly with very little disturbance to the surrounding area. Trees were hauled off and holes were filled and river rock replaced. Would definitely use Barewood again for tree removal needs.

I had Barewood give me an estimate on tree services and some landscaping. After I told him his bid didn't satisfy my requirements. He became beligerant. I would not use his services or ask for an estimate from him again.

He is more reasonable in price and does an excellant job.

The work is done well.
