We have been using them off and on for probably about five or six years. They are all very professional and very nice.

Quick and easy. Short wait in waiting room.
Good exam and pain free shots. Dr. Glander is great and down to earth.
We also use Rhonda in the grooming area to bathe and groom our dog.
They also keep the dog when were out of town.
I don't know whether they know my name, but they always call Ari (the dog)
by name. He loves visiting them.

The staff at Lake Hickory is always very friendly and professional. Waiting time in the waiting room is usually fairly short as is the time in the exam room also. They take great care to make our dog(s) feel comfortable and are compassionate. Dr. Glander is the best. She really cares about the animals and you can see it in the way she talks to them, examines them and comforts them.
She is more than willing to help you find ways to save money. She writes a prescription for our Husky for a bronchial condition, one in which he will take for the rest of his life, that we could take to the local pharmacy and save money with a local County Prescription Card that can be used for human as well as animal medication. With this exception, I have found that the cost of medicine and Flea/Tick treatments to be comparable with the national mail order companies.
Lake Hickory has taken care of our animals for at least 7 years and we have no complaints with them over that time. If we need medications or flea treatments and we can't get there till after closing, they will take credit card info over the phone and leave the medicine in their mailbox outside for us to pick up.
I think their charges are fairly comparable with most of the vets in the area, maybe a tad higher on some things but still reasonable for the quality of care and the quality of their facility. For that reason I rated them with a B on price but closer to a B+.

We use the vet all the time. We have Shih Tzus and part of the problem with the breed is the teeth placement. Our guy had some problems and they had to take out 2 teeth. While they were doing that, they had him under so they cleaned his teeth. He is doing fine now. We have got a pair of them and they are my babies. It just had to be done. He had to have the teeth extracted because something was just not right in the mouth. They needed to make some room and that is what she did. It was the first experience for him and for us. He is doing great. The hospital is terrific all the way.
