Auto Body Work
A motorcycle hit me while stopped, breaking the right rear tail light, and causing some other minor damage. Tilley's compared the cost of replacing the quarter panel with repairing it, various amounts and places of painting, and came up with the lowest cost solution they could. A few weeks later I took my truck in and they repaired it -- it looks like new. They did come in a little over their estimate, but this is pretty common in this line of work -- it's always hard to tell precisely how much paint and time a job is going to take.
Overall, very satisfied.

Great job. Completion was delayed by an ice storm causing an increase in work volume. This was not an important issue to me because I didn't need the vehicle for transportation and the price was great for the work performed.
I had previously checked with two other providers who wouldn't do this work because they didn't have sand blasting equipment. I was referred to this business by a class car club in Fuquay.

Auto Body Work, Auto Painting
Initially contacted Tilley's to repair the car with the intent of paying out of pocket for the repairs.
Car had rolled into another vehicle in our driveway and damage seemed minor, bent hood and scratched bumper.
In conversations and emails with Daryl, made it clear that only OEM (Nissan) parts were to be used in the repairs.
Estimate came in at just over $1700.00, so I chose to file a claim with insurance company.
Contacted Tilley's several days later and was told the insurance adjuster had looked at the car and approved the repairs.
Picked up the car and in the light at the time appeared to be fine.
Drove the car home, parked in the driveway facing the sun and could not believe what I was seeing.
The hood was not on the car straight. Looking at it, to align one side, it would be off on the other.
The hood just did not fit the car properly and did not look as if it could ever be aligned properly.
I raised the hood to check the parts underneath and saw where the air horn for the intake wasn't seated correctly because the wrong push pin retainers were used. The hood itself seemed to be in a bind and would not close without effort.
Then I noticed the paint.
If you hold a paint gun too close or stop in one place the paint builds up and will run, and it had along the edge of the hood.
Everywhere you looked on the hood and front bumper there were spots which I later found out are called and quot;fish eyesand quot;.
Then I noticed an access cover on the bumper that seemed not to fit correctly. The grill was the original busted grill, it hadn't been replaced at all.
The entire job was a mess.
Drove the car back to Tilley's, with everything that was wrong marked with tape; essentially the entire front of the car.
Daryl came out and looked at the car and said, and quot;Aren't these supposed to be OEM parts?and quot; Then he explained that a compressor had blown a ring or something and flooded the air lines with oil, causing the fish eyes.
Here I was weeks later back where I started from.
Come to find out, the insurance company told Tilley's to use aftermarket parts, even though I have an OEM parts replacement rider.
A phone call and email later to my insurance company and Tilleys had the OEM parts on order and when they arrived painted them correctly and installed them correctly. The car looked like new again. It should have been this way the first time. If it had I would easily give them an A for Quality.
I wish Angies had a yes, no, and maybe on would you use a company again in the future. I would have given Tilley's a maybe.
Everyone I interacted with at Tilley's could not have been nicer or more helpful. They can do good work. Their prices are typical for paint and body work. But as I expressed to Daryl, the car should not have left the paint booth looking like it did the first time and the person that did the painting should consider another line of work, because auto painting isn't it. This is why I gave an F for Quality.
If I had a new car and wanted it to be restored back to new, no I don't think I would not use Tilley's again. An older car that just needs some some minor touch up body work or fresh paint, sure.

THEY HAD THE CAR BACK TO ME IN LESS THAN A WEEK. THE CAR RUNS DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT SHAKING AND VIBRATING NOW. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS REALLY VERY REASONABLE. THE MECHANICS THERE SEEMED VERY NICE ALSO.
