In most cases the labor will not exceed one hour with exceptions for larger more difficult and time consuming repairs in addition to any parts cost. He was a totally person from the first visit. I had also recommended his service to my sister and she also had a bad experience with them. I would not recommend their service to others. We could have bought a new machine with what we paid him and the price was more than expected because of the service call charge. The price was high and he was very unprofessional.

This was my first experience with this provider. I decided to use him because of the positive comments I read about his service. It was all true. He is courteous, knowledgeable, and determined to get the problem fixed.
I called and left a voice message. It took about 4 hours for a return call which I did not mind since it was not an emergency. We set up an appointment. Patrick showed up on time. My dryer was filled with lint build-up which he cleaned and he also blew out my dryer vent too which had a large amount of lint built up in it. He replaced the belt and, at my request, he also replaced some rollers that are also known to fail and make noise. In total it took him about 2 hours. The dryer still makes a slight thumping noise and he went back in to try a couple more things to see if he could make it go away. I could tell he wasn't happy that it wasn't perfect, but I was very satisfied given the age of the dryer.
I will definately call at Talley's Appliance Repair service the next time I have an appliance problem.

Extremely prompt. I've used his services for over 5 years now. He has repaired my washer, dryer, and oven. Always answers my call or calls back within an hour if he's on a call. Shows up when he said he will and stands behind his work

The Whirlpool is ten years old, and when the drum quit turning, we had started the process of getting a new washer, checking ratings, went by a few showrooms, etc.
We called Pat on Sunday, left voice mail, got a call Monday (Veteran's Day) morning, and scheduled visit for 9:30 am Tuesday. Pat showed up at 9:22, no call for directions, etc. Pat is a native of the Raleigh area and doesn't have a problem finding places.
Look into the washer revealed that the belt was intact and new-looking. Further checking found a connector to the motor that was not pushed in far enough to snap and hold connection. This would have been true since the factory, since this is the first issue we have ever had with this high-end Whirlpool, and the first time the cover was off since installation. Pat said the connectors were without corrosion, and snapped it in all the way. Ran a load of wash to verify no problems.
We also discussed the state of new washers on the market, as ten years is a common washer lifetime. Pat is an independent repairman, not beholden to any brand or company. Particularly given that, this repairman's eyeball view is a very valuable resource, and we made our notes from the conversation. We will be planning a non-emergency replacement in the next few years, and Pat's experience is money in the bank.
Pat was very fastidious in keeping the work area clean.
He charged only the $59 visit charge, no labor as no parts were installed. His 90 day guarantee still applies, regardless of no parts installed.
Pat is a keeper.

Mr Talley has done work for us in the past and he was the only person we contacted to fix some minor problems with our washer and dryer before we pass them along to our daughter. He quickly diagnosed the problems with each and fixed the dryer immediately. Since he can't carry around spare parts for every make of every appliance, he had to arrange to get the necessary part for the washer and come back the next day. Not the next week. He is courteous and professional and our dogs trust him. :). Enough said. We will always contact him first for any needed appliance repairs.

I was having a very difficult time getting a callback from service providers (I called about 6) and Talley's called me back promptly and while they did not repair my brand of washer, they connected me with a company that could. Excellent customer service!

Patrick replaced a burned out main board on my garage refrigerator. A few weeks passed and the refrigerator stopped working again. I called Patrick and he came right out to take a look. Turns out the board he replaced was still ok, and I had a problem with a part that starts the compressor. Patrick replaced that part for free even though the board he replaced a few weeks back was still just fine.
Great service! Would recommend Talley's Appliance Repair to anyone!

Patrick was persistent and you can tell he likes what he does. He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, ordered the part and fixed it on his visit to my home..

Mr. Talley arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem with the washer. He did not have the needed switch on his truck but made some calls, located the part, and drove some distance to get it. I suspect the added time for this job may have disrupted his schedule for the day but he worked efficiently and was totally professional.

I was very impressed with Patrick, his expertise, and his honest opinion. He compared the cost of repairing the machine with the cost of a new machine, and that helped me make my decision to replace rather than repair. He was very personable and professional, and I would definitely call him again.

Repair of drier went fine. Mr. Talley was responsive and pleasant to deal with. However, a problem arose with the reconnection of the new hose to washer. I was told it was ok to use the washer and drier as long as the wash temp was set on cold, but that he had not been able to successfully remove the hose from the hot water facet and that I should call a plumber to complete the job. However, he told me that it would be ok to use the washer and drier provided I set the washer water temp on cold. But when I did this, water poured out behind the drier, wetting the floor, adjacent carpet, and, much worse, the living room ceiling below. I now have repairs that have to be made to the ceiling. I called Mr. Talley to let him know that things did not go well, and he quickly responded, and said he had thought it would be ok for me to use the washer on the cold setting but that he could see this clearly did not go well and apologized for my water damage. I subsequently hired plumbing repair people to reconnect the replacement hose to the washer. Those repairmen said they found that the hot water facet had been broken off inside the wall, such that the wall had to be cut out and the facet replaced before the washer hose could be connected. They surmised that Mr. Talley had likely broken the facet in attempting to remove the old hose for replacement, and seemed not surprised that the water damage had occurred under the circumstances. This was an expensive plumbing repair, and I still am facing the repair costs to the ceiling. The irony is that I had asked that the hose be replaced in the first place as a preventive measure against the possibility of future hose splitting and water damage. One step forward and about four steps backward!
It would help if there were rating scores for different tasks. Mr. Talley's performance on the drier repair went well and I would have given him top scores--but for the hose replacement issue. I hired him initially to repair the drier, then asked if he would replace the washer hose as a preventive measure, and he agreed to do this.

I had been hearing a whining noise in our refrigerator. I called to have the coils cleaned and spoke with Mr. Talley Thursday morning. He responded that he could come out later that afternoon and clean the coils, and added that if he had time, he would also clean our dryer vent in the same hour of work I would be paying for. Once he arrived, he diagnosed a larger problem with our freezer that was causing the whining noise. A thermostat had gone bad. He cleaned the refrigerator coils, removed all the food from the freezer, and replaced the thermostat with one he had on his truck. He put everything back in the freezer when finished and cleaned up. The fridge runs great now and no noise. Although he did not have time to clean the dryer vent, he did show me how I could do it myself, or he would come back and do it at a later time. He was held up one hour from our appointment from a job he was on before ours, so that was the reason he was not punctual, but overall I am extremely happy with the service provided and the price. I would definitely hire him again.
