Cape Fear Deck & Fence

They have the most positive feedbacks in Angie’s List and the guy to be contacted there is Rick G. Raymes. He is extremely professional. He will swear that he is not the cheapest but after getting other referrals he was and his workmanship was of higher quality, better craftsmanship than the other once. I do have the best fence in the neighborhood. I highly recommend him to anybody. He will repair fences. If I wanted a couple inches put on he will do that like no jobs too little or too big. As far as putting like a stain and varnish she will do that. He is knowledgeable enough that he let me know to wait a couple of months to make sure the wood is completely dry before getting it done. He also let his customer borrow his spray guns for free if they choose to do a consult. I will be using him again – when he will going to put the stains and treatment on my fence.

He is very nice, very good at his job. We were very pleased with him. I would definitely recommend him. We would use him again.

Just like the last time he showed up on time and got the job done quickly! He and his crew built a new part of a fence further up in our yard where we wanted it. He also took down the fence that was there to begin with for me. My fence now looks so much better than what it did when the last company put it up. The access gate that Mr, Rick built is so nice!!! My previous gate from another company had nails sticking out all over the place, I even cut my hand on it . But the one Mr. Rick built for me has no nails sticking out anywhere! In fact he went above and beyond when framing it to help brace the wood from future sagging. He even put an extra latch at the top of it for me. Which I loved cause now when we put up our pool I don't have to worry about kids getting in the back yard to the pool. My fence looks perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better job to be done! He will be coming back soon to stain my deck for me too! Thanks again Mr. Rick!

Mr Rick and his crew showed up on time every time they came out. They put a 16 x 16 foot deck with benches on the sides with backing to the benches. Mr. Rick laid out some rope for me to see the size and location for it when he came out to my house for us to decide on the set up and size. Before leaving he went over some of the numbers with me so I could understand how he comes up with the cost of it (which I very much enjoyed, because most people don't tell you how they come up with the price) By the next night I had an email from him with the layout of the deck and the cost of it. He even gave me a couple different options with the steps on the back of the deck (cause my husband thinks he's an architect or something and tried to design some steps, lol) Bottom line, my deck looks just like I thought it would, even better! There was no surprise costs at the end. What he told me it would cost, is what it did. We love our deck and am so glad we decided to have Mr. Rick and his crew do it. Compared to friends we know with decks that they had built with other people, I truly believe ours will out last them all!! Thanks so much Mr. Rick and crew!! And when we do move our fence up (which will be soon) Mr. Rick will be the one I call!!

He and his nephew did the job. He was very helpful, very pleasant. He was also very punctual and that's what I liked about him. He had always showed up on time and very meticulous on the job that he did. He also did the cleaning afterwards. I have spoken to other contractors and he was by far the best one so I chose him. I would definitely use him again and he definitely made a very good impression to me.

Rick has done several jobs for in the past and I have written rave reviews for him. I had a home improvement problem with a squeaking floor that I could not solve for love or money. When we called Rick for advice, he told us we had the right idea but the wrong approach. He was gracious enough to stop by of an afternoon and help us out with the correct techniques and applications. The insane squeaking sound is now gone now. Thanks, Rick!

Rick is a very professional and genuinely nice guy. He was on time and very courteous to my wife, dog and myself. If I was to put a fence in it would be with Cape Fear Fencing!

Rick and his crew are very courteous, punctual and honest. He met me for an estimate on very short notice and explained all of my options thoroughly. He and his crew completed the job quickly and the quality was excellent. I highly recommend him without reservations.

Rick came and gave me an estimate and talked about the different options. We discussed the difference between the lower cost PVC and the deluxe. He let us decide and we went with the deluxe version (awesome!) He handled all of the supplies showed up on the agreed date and time and handled everything very quickly and efficiently.

I was provided estimates, references, and when selected was provided proof of insurance. All of this was done in timely and professional manner. Rick (owner) showed on scheduled start date and work was completed in scheduled time. The work, daily cleanup, and final cleanup was done as promised. The actual work was delayed by one day (rain) thru no fault of Cape Fear Deck. We are extremely happy with the results and we also received recommendatiions on completion of the staining of the deck (recommended 4-6 months after installation). We would highly recommend Cape Fear Deck and will use them in the future should we need these type of services. I would have provided pictures but could not determine how to add them.

Rick did an amazing job. After finding him on Angie's list we gave him a call to come out and give us an estimate. He quoted us a price on Sunday and started right away on Wednesday. Two days to put in the posts, one day for the frame, two days for the boards and a day for the gate. The quality of work was outstanding and the price unbeatable. Rick took his time to make sure all of the boards were level and that each board was of quality before putting it up. He was very courteous and honest. My dog Charlie loved him and his partner. We had family from Kansas staying with us and they all wish they could fly him out to do work where they live. I highly recommend Cape Fear Deck and Fence to anyone looking for someone to do contract work.

Overall, the entire experience working with Rick Raymes, the owner of the company, was very pleasant. He arrived at the time he said he would to assess for the estimate. He helped make suggestions about the type of fence we could get, which my husband and I are very happy with the outcome of. Rick then had an estimate to me within a few days, quicker than any other company has ever returned an estimate. Over the past few years we have been shopping for quotes to build our fence. Rick was by far the lowest quote we have received, and there was absolutely no sacrifice to quality. He and the man who was working for him worked every day until the fence was complete to include on a federal holiday. He was very honest, professional, friendly, and sincere. He built a quality and very sturdy fence. The craftsmanship he used to build the fence was stellar; he cemented in all the posts (not just the ends), he put wood beams inside the vinyl posts to make the fence more study, and the gates are strong, they don't hang down at all, and open easily, he used metal brackets for a more study and better quality hold-just to name a few things. I have been getting compliments on it daily since the day he completed it, which was almost a month ago now. I would recommend Rick Raymes to my friends and family.

I needed to replace the gate of my shadow-box fence and some boards. Upon inspection, decide that it was better to replace it completely. Rick helped me decide the best style for my needs.

Rick did our fence a few years ago and did an awesome job so of course when we needed our deck rebuilt, he was our guy. Once again, Rick and his guys did an outstanding job. Honestly, you aren't going to find a better guy than Rick to do your fencing or deck work. I'd probably have him build my next house if he wanted! ;)

Outstanding service from start to finish. Rick came out and gave us an estimate to complete our fencing in our back yard. He told us how much it would cost and how long it would take. He met and exceeded our expectation and completed on time and at the cost he told us. He replaced a double gate for us also and did a fantastic job. This is a great company that really stands by its name and when I need this type of service again this is who I will call. They even replaced boards on the current fence and did not charge us extra for it. Needless to say the fence is beautiful and I am beyond thrilled with this work!

Rick Raymes came on the exact day and time he said he would to look at the work that needed to be done on my house. He gave me an estimate of what needed to be done including the materials that would be required and the price I would be charged. Promptly on Friday July 6, 2012 at 8:30 am, Rick and his crew arrived at my house and started work right away. By a little after lunchtime my new wall was complete. Everyone was smart and professional and knew exactly what they were doing. Before leaving, the work area was cleaned up and there was no mess left behind. I am extremely satisfied with the work that was done and with all the people involved on the job. As an added bonus, the job came in at a price less than the original estimate. I would highly recommend Cape Fear Deck and Fence to anyone looking for the services they provide. It was really refreshing to have a company provide such quality service without any problems.

We were very happy with them. It was great. We actually had them come and do an estimate on August when we bought the house and we just never got around to get them out here until recently. The owner was very nice, we had four young children that were out there wanting to be right there part of his work and he was very patient with it. He was actually probably one of the least expensive. Probably in less than 24 hours, he had responded to any phone call that I have made. When he did the estimate on August my 4 year old at that time fell off our front porch, he fell down the front step and banged his head pretty bad and Rick, he got us an ice cold water out of his truck and then he went to the store and came back to our home and brought us a bag of ice for my sons head because I didn't have anything since we just moved. He went out of his way. He told us he was a man of character more than anything.

Rick and his team are great! The quality of their work is outstanding and their work ethic unparalleled. I had a fence put in before my husband came home on R&R as a surprise, and they worked through the weekend to get everything done. They are always very responsive and courteous. I called several fence companies to get prices and Cape Fear Deck & Fence were very competitive without compromising quality. If I can find a space to squeeze a deck into my backyard I'll definitely be calling them!

Stop!...look no further. I had a fence installed when I was on a 4 month temporary duty assignment. Everything was described over the phone, what could be done and what couldn't with reasons why and why not. The fence line ran along a storm culvert and could have been an issue but it wasn't. Updates were provided over the phone and Skype. Yep, I saw the progress while my wife walked along with the contractor as he explained and showed everything over Skype. I had her stand very far back so I could see if everything was straight, and it was. No money down was needed on this contract and they cleaned everything up when the job was finished. The doors are the sturdiest ones in the neighborhood. It's a well built fence, my wife is happy and I am impressed. By the time I came home the wood was seasoned enough to apply stain in which he offered me his electric sprayer for a couple days. Great job, look no further!

I began looking for a company on Angie's List to install fencing for a house that I was buying in the Sanford N.C. area. I searched out 5 places and had each of the 5 companies come and give estimates. Rick Raymes of Cape Fear Deck and Fence was the last company that came out to do an estimate. I called Mr. Raymes and he came out to the house the next day. He was ON TIME and very professional. He explained to me what all he would do and showed me how he would construct the fence and how long it would take and when he could start. Rick took all of his measurement an let me know he would notify me by email as soon as he had the estimate finshed. I had the estimate the next day and was suprised that he was $500.00 less than any of the previous estimates that I had received. I let Rick know that he had the job and that he could start the Wednesday after I closed on the house. To make a long story short I had to delay the fence, because the closing did not take place when it was supposed to, and the closing was delayed about 3 times. Rick was very understanding as we kept moving the date on week by one week at a time. Eventually we closed and that next week Rick and his crew were on the job. They were considerate, clean, professional and work diligently to get the job done. The first day they laid the posts and poured the concrete. The second day they began to install the dog ear sections of the fence on the third and final day they completed the job. I must say the fence looks fantastic, all of my new neighbors were impressed. I would gladly call Rick and his team for any of my fencing and deck issues. His price was reasonable for a fantastic job. I am so glad that I used Cape Fear Deck and Fence and thank you Angies list for helping me find such professional contractors....

It went great. I used cape fear to fence in my backyard. I loved the work that they did and how professional they were that I called them again when I wanted a new deck. Rick (the owner) came and we discussed what i was looking for and we came up with a great idea and he called me back right away with a quote. Him and his crew did a great job I didn't have to go outside and make sure they were working they came in the morning and stayed till the night time to get the job done. He also worked with me to make it happen that I had the deck done before my birthday so I could show it off. He built in benches that just look amazing that are right by the pool. I never had a problem with him or his crew they were very professional and hard working. I just love the work they did. After the job was done they cleaned up everything and I didn't have any damage to the lawn or to my house Absolutely not one complaint from me. Highly recommend them for any job they were fantastic.

The person who did the estimate was a very nice person. I didn’t get the job done by them because they were too expensive. They work with only wood and do only fencing. I didn’t want wood and wanted something less expensive. They were very friendly from the moment I contacted them over the phone. They were very polite and came out promptly. They did the measuring and gave me an estimate quickly. There is nothing negative to say about them.
