I was very pleased by the service provided by Acme plumbing, and especially the technician Gary. Everything went exactly as planned, even though he was dealing with an old house and some previously poorly installed fixtures. As a Durham resident, I try to support local businesses as much as possible, and I would highly recommend Acme Plumbing to my fellow neighbors.

I called because my garbage disposal was leaking and Acme came out less than an hour later due to a cancellation. Alejandro showed me the corrosion in the disposal and recommended that we install a new disposal. Alejandro was friendly and professional.

Great! I had ordered the replacement parts from the manufacturer already. I called Acme in the morning and they scheduled me for two days from then, but ended up being available that afternoon. They came out and fixed the shower within 30 minutes. They also cleared the drain of hair without me asking them to and at no extra charge. They charged me their minimum price of $60. Another plumber in the area had initially quoted me $900 (!!) for the repair before I had replacement parts, and then $450 once I did have the replacement parts. I thought this seemed high for what appeared to be a simple part replacement, so I called Acme Plumbing. Two guys came out (Gary and Juan) and they were both very nice and worked quickly.

We have called different provider since Acme said they would not service this area. However they do service a neighbor two doors away.

Routine water tank flush was very quick; I hadn't had it done before, didn't know what to expect, and I failed to watch what was flushed out. I wasn't having problems and still am not, so I assume it was done right.
Bathtub does drain much better.
The kitchen sink faucet is still extremely hard to move sideways, to the point I'll replace it. What he did made no difference.
It was several days before I accepted the fact that the kitchen faucet was as stiff as ever, so I did not contact the company.

Scheduling was easy and the technician showed up at the agreed time. He found the problem, explained it, and presented alternatives, including the option to repair the damaged parts instead of replacing them (saved some money). Very pleased with results. The cost was very reasonable.

Went well. I sent an email with photos because I couldn't identify the brand of tub handle. That took a little back and forth, it was hard to ID with a photo. Making appointment was quick, especially given holiday season. The plumber was on time, courteous, and efficient. (I think it was Rufus.) Cartridge replaced, leak gone, and I'm glad to know the brand for the future.
The Angie's List deal covered $200 worth of work. I was surprised there was substantive costs beyond that, since once they ID'd the brand (common brand, Delta), it was a short and straightforward fix. Hence that grade. But plumbing always costs and over time, one pays for leaks so I'm okay with that.

We had a number of different issues. They were all pretty expensive. I pretty much got high estimates but I was happy that the service included a service trip. I ended up getting one thing done that took about 10 minutes. We already had the part and we didn't know how to put it in properly and he was able to install it. I'm pretty happy although I think he did install it upside down. He said it definitely saved money that we already had the part. We were able to get the part free from the manufacturer. We also needed to replace our food disposal but we ended up figuring out how to do it ourselves. It was expensive for the estimate for the general service itself.

"I am afraid that our business is not suited to be of service with large remodel projects. We are best suited for tackling plumbing repairs and smaller, one to two day jobs. We often have to communicate to customers that we are unable to take on extensive remodel projects and I am sorry if we failed to communicate that from the beginning of our relationship."

The joint between the house and the clean out was last repaired about five years ago with a rubber boot to splice the two pieces of PVC pipe together. The prior repair failed after the the main sewer line settled, resulting in roots clog up the line. I called ACME plumbing and they came out the same day. Before the repair, Gary from ACME used a camera to examine the main sewer line form the house to the street. About 10' ft of PVC pipe form the house had settled and was holding water. Acme dug down to the old pipe replace the section that had settled and installed a new pipe with the right pitch. They packed the ground around the pipe prevent it from settling. No more sewer pipe rubber boots! They were very careful with the lawn and and did a great job cleaning up.
