ACL Outdoor Lighting

Fantastic.  I couldnt be happier.  I highly recommend to anyone interested.  First they set up a demo, then were able to work with me as rain delayed my landscaping work.  They set the lights up one morning, and let me view them through the evening.  I marked any I didnt want, or moved them if necessary.  They came back the next morning and buried the wires and it was done. They even came back to help attach some existing lights from my patio at no extra charge.  Overall, the cost was in line or lower than all the other estimates, and they were way easier and way more responsive than any other company.  Their product is top of the line and they're quick and thorough.  I've already been referring them to my co-workers and neighbors.

He was amazing. He was the best service provider I've ever had. In fact, one of my neighbors are going to be using him. We tell everyone about him. I think the price was very reasonable.

Larry installed a full system of 27 lights at my house last year and recently installed several patio lights (8) on a new patio. All work flawlessly on the same system. He is punctual, professional and does outstanding work. He is the best. I reccommend ACL without any reservations.

This was one of my best experiences with an Angie's List vendor.  We called Larry to fix or get some ideas for our old landscape lighting, which had some burnt wires and non-functioning well lights.  Larry came over and set up a full demo of lights for us to view for several days before making a final decision.  His price seemed a little higher than the a few others we had received but he offered the best guarantee and the quality of his lights looked great.  He was able to install 5 LED lights, a new transformer, an external outlet, replace a few halogen path lights, and deactivated our old lighting system which had become a fire hazard.  He completed all the work while we were at work and we came back to a beautiful display.  What really sold us on using Larry again if we decide to add to our landscap lighting is an issue we discovered after he completed his work.
We noticed that the thermostat on our 1st floor had lost power after he completed his work.  We called and asked him about it and he offered some suggestions and took a look.  He wasn't able to determine the problem so we had to call in an HVAC repair person.  That person discovered that a pipe had been kicked in our crawlspace that accidentally tripped a safety mechanism to shut down our system.  It was a quick fix but cost us $75 for the visit.  Since Larry had asked us if we had determined the cause, we let him know that the pipe may have been accidentally kicked when he was working in the crawlspace.  He offered and sent us a $75 check after he we let him know that the HVAC person told us it was due to someone working in the crawlspace.  Larry's integrity and quality of work is top notch.
We would definitely use Larry again if we want to expand our landscape lighting in the future!

Larry did an excellent job installing LED landscape lights in our yard. I could hardly tell he did any digging in my yard - the job was so neatly done. I also love the new LED lights he has available now. Solid brass, they are classy and very bright. My house looks gorgeous at night! In fact, my next door neighbors loved his work so much that they ended up having Larry install lighting at their house, too!

After the demonstration period was over, I  told Larry about my problem with the lights I installed that were turning off and on all night long. He diagnosed  and fixed the lights I had installed in the front yard on his next visit and at my request, he added 3 additional lights to my back yard lighting system installed by another company that I was unable to locate. I have never been so impressed with the honesty, skill, professionalism and the speed of work by any contractor before. He told me he would not feel good about installing and charging me for a very expensive lighting system at my home when he could fix my existing system far less cheaper and he did exactly that in less than 20 mintues. I was so very impressed with his honesty!  I certainly highly recommend him if you have a lighting project. I will definitely call him again if another problem occurs. He is the best contractor I have ever dealt with in my life! No nonsense!

Start to finish was excellent. Larry came and setup a demo system for us to check out for a couple days which allowed us to see what we wanted. Once the decision was made and we went forward, Larry and team were here on time and got right to work and did a great job on the install. Excellent customer service with follow up calls to ensure the lights were right and the system was performing as promised.

Larry did an awesome job. His price was great, he was on time, his work was better than expected, and he finished the job when he said he would. I highly recommend him for all of your outdoor electrical needs. My backyard glows at night!

Larry came out on a weekend to set up a light display so we could see the different types of lighting options available.  From there he came back on a Saturday evening due to our schedule to discuss what we were interested in and then wrote up an estimate on what he thought would be the best fit for our home and landscaping accents.  He left us literature and actual sample lighting fixtures for us to compare and contrast.  He was extremely patient and through in his work.  The work was done accurately and professionally.  

ACL was successful in diagnosing the problems when a previous professional was unable to find the problems.  The overall experience was great.  All of the services were performed as promised.  Thank you ACL!

Larry did an excellent job. He is very thorough and made sure everything was exactly what we wanted. He set up the demo and gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted.  He made suggestions that helped me adjust from my original request to something much better to meet our needs. He is also a very nice guy to work with, always going above and beyond. Thanks Angie's list for the great recommendation and thanks Larry for doing a great job. Our home is much safer and more beautiful now.  Highly recommend Larry.

He was prompt in giving me an estimate and stuck to the original price. He requested half of the payment up front which I paid him.  He always arrived when he said he would.  Finished the work on time and did a top notch job.  Additionally my Invisible Fence system started beeping, indicating a broken line.  I asked him if his work may have caused the problem.  He said he didn't think so but he would be glad to address the problem.  While he was there, I discovered a tree had fallen.  The uprooted trunk had snapped the Invisible fence line, and was not at all related to their installation.  He repaired the line for me anyway, at no additional charge.

All projects on time, look great.

OLD REVIEW: Larry is a terrific guy and installed several "up-lights" in my backyard as well as an electrical outlet. When my new puppy dug up the buried electrical cords, he came back and re-buried them for free. But when I started having problems with the lights and the photovoltaic sensor several months later, he did not return my calls. About half the lights broke within the first year, and they stay on either way too late (past midnight) or shut off before sunset.  

UPDATE! ! WITHIN A DAY OF MY PREVIOUS REVIEW, LARRY FIXED EVERYTHING AND APOLOGIZED FOR THE MISCOMMUNICATION. HE REPAIRED THE BROKEN FIXTURES AND REPLACED THE LIGHT SENSOR WITH A TIMER. IT SEEMS HE WAS EITHER NOT RECEIVING THE PHONE MESSAGES I HAD LEFT, OR THERE WAS A MIXUP IN WHICH NUMBER I WAS CALLING. EITHER WAY, HE MADE IT CLEAR TO ME THAT CARES DEEPLY ABOUT HIS WORK, HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND HIS REPUTATION.

He did a great job! We were pleased. He put a few more lights than what we wanted, but he was very flexible. We took out what we wanted. He left a trial display so we could live with it for a couple of days before it was permanently installed. We were able to see if we liked it before he did the install. We were pleased.

They were absolutely excellent. They were very professional and the work that they did was terrific. Larry came back a few times to adjust things. He responds quickly if there is a problem. I highly recommend them.

I really can't say enough good things about Larry. He wanted to do a great job and he did...it is really difficult to put into words how many wonderful things Larry did to make my landscape lighting first class. The best advice I can give anyone considering hiring Larry and ACL is if you want a great system, just do exactly what Larry tells you or suggests for you. He knows lighting. I would also suggest not directing ACL, rather let ACL direct you. Larry knows what will work and will not try to push a product that is wasteful . Larry is a type A personality that will get it done, get it done right, and does not require caffeine in the morning to get going. Anyone considering hiring ACL should be aware that Larry would probably rather work than talk about what he is working on. Larry is great and I can't say enough good things about the incredible work he did to improve my lighting. I will only call ACL to fix or improve my lighting in the future. THANK YOU LARRY. I can't say enough good things about the project. While on the phone with ACL they gave me a great price. Since I found them on Angie's List and there were so many good reviews I felt comfortable asking them to install the lights. When they arrived I showed them what I wanted. They were very willing to do my small job (four up lights) the way I wanted but they told me I would not be happy. I was a bit skeptical until they set up demo lights. The demo kit let me turn each individual light on and off so I could see how the installed lights would look. Wow! They looked great. I had them install nine up lights and I'm so glad I did. Now my house looks like it came from the pages of a magazine. And as an unexpected benefit, the light acts as a security light which makes me feel safer. I would highly recommend them. As a matter of fact, I'm already planning on expanding the lights to other parts of the yard. Try them. You won't be disappointed.

This was a commercial installation for a subdivision that had a landscaping lighting system that worked on a 110 V inefficient system that needed major repairs. Larry, the owner of the company, designed and installed a low voltage system. This system is more efficient than the old system and will save the community on our electric utilities. The system will pay for itself after the first year of usage. He gave me a price for the work which was much lower than any other proposals, and during his free estimate he gave me more time than any other lighting company. Also a lot of his time was spent explaining what's required to do this job correctly. This project required many hours of troubleshooting so that the new system could be connected to part of the old system. With all the extra time needed to get the system working correctly he still charged us the original asking price. I even said to him that if he has to increase the price from the original price I would understand. This project required five transformers and 17 fixtures. I would highly recommend this company for commercial or residential work. It's great to see that we still have honest and good workers out there today, and the Angie’s List definitely enables us to find these workers.
