My HOA hired Jorel based on a referral from a prominent Charlotte real estate attorney specializing in HOAs. We used Jorel's services for 18 months before we understood that they could not perform to our expectations in enforcing the covenants or maintaining our common areas. They were also rude and unprofessional. I understand now why the attorney referred us to them: they handle delinquent homeowners very well by efficiently collecting dues and processing liens and foreclosures with the attorney. Their delinquencies manager, Laurie Cordes, is wonderful. However, the husband and wife co-owners, John and Gail Pizetoski, can act very unprofessionally and, in Gail's case, emotionally. Gail flippantly accused me of acting illegally on more than one occasion. One time I asked John to change the Board member election ballots to include the names of the individuals who had been nominated by the nominating committee, to which John nastily replied, "No, we don't do that...It's always something with you, isn't it?" I had to solicit bids for several common area maintenance projects myself because Jorel would either do nothing or claim that they could not find anyone willing to bid on the projects. Toward the end of our business relationship with them, I lamented how they hadn't noticed graffiti on a common area fence in over a year even though they had been conducting inspections almost every week. Gail's response was unapologetic; she claimed that I had violated my fiduciary duty as a Board member by not notifying them of the graffiti as soon as I had noticed it. Gail subsequently personally berated me in an e-mail to our entire Board, going as far as calling me names and saying other derogatory and hurtful things. For that e-mail, as well as for their non-performance in other areas, our Board unanimously decided to terminate their contract and go with another company.
Description of Work: My HOA hired Jorel to manage our HOA. They were hired to collect HOA dues, enforce our neighborhood covenants, and maintain the common areas. We paid them about $1,700 per month.
