This work included the complete replacement of a 2 ton mini-split A/C including a heat pump with a comparable Trane mini-split on 2/2/2017, which included a 10 year warranty. This installation was passed inspection by Cabarrus County. On June 3, 2024 a Poplin service tech came to my house to inspect and repair the system, as it was not working. That tech found that there was a leak in the system and added refrigerant, at a cost of $ 379. The system worked fine for about a week and then failed. About a dozen calls later to Poplin resulted in 1. No return phone calls 2. No repair or replacement of my system. In frustration I had another HVAC contractor inspect and examine the system, which cost another $ 234.33. That technician discovered that there was there was a leak in one of the original fittings, however that fitting was too close to the inside coil to be replaced without also replacing the inside coil, as well. However, Trane no longer makes or will supply a separate inside coil. This results in our only option being the complete replacement of the system! According to Trane, because Poplin improperly installed the outside line between the outdoor compressor and inside air handler, Trane has advised that the complete warranty is now null and void. Consequently, we are screwed!! At this point, why would I ever do business with either Trane or Poplin Heating and Air?

Joe Nance and his crew were efficient and courteous. He quoted me a price which was much less than a current big name competitor, for a high quality and cost effective unit. They were able to come out within a few days of our initial meeting to do the tear out and install. The entire job only took a few hours, they tested the system to make sure everything was working properly, cleaned up the area and were on their way. Would definitely recommend Poplin H&A for any HVAC needs you may have

Their price was the best value for money for top range units. Everyone in Steve's crew are experience pros. The job's difficulty is 9 in the 1-10 scale, according to estimates from other contractors. But with this crew, the installation went so smoothly, well planned and carried out with attention to details. Amazing job done by this amazing crew. I'm very impressed with the quality of work they did. I have recommended the Poplin to my neighbors, daughters and close friends. I am also very please with the Trane 16 seer heat pump system Steve proposed and installed. I gave 5 stars for all, especially the quality of work, and 5 stars for the Trane system installed.

Experienced and did the work quickly and well.

The crew arrived on time. They took the time to prep all areas, covering stairs and hallways with tarps. They answered any concerns prior to beginning the work. They did a thorough clean up and hauled away old equipment. The crew was very curtious and conscientious while performing the removal and installation of the new ac system. I highly recommend Steve and his crew. The price was as quoted and completed in a timely manner as expected. I will not hesitate to call them again for any future work or maintenance as needed!
