When we contacted Bobby's, we were told that the lead time was 4-6 weeks or 2 months (by two separate people). We agreed to the work and returned signed paperwork promptly. However, the timeframe came and went with no contact about a continued backlog from the company. We were promised a new timeframe based on my message to the company but that was not met. Finally, my husband made a call and they came out and completed the work about 3 months after our initial agreement. Other than the communications, we were pleased with the work.

After I called Tony came out within a day to give me an estimate. He mentioned that they were running 6 weeks or so behind. The price was a little higher than I expected since it was not a huge tree, but it was quite fragile so I understood that it was a delicate job. He was very pleasant and professional. Less that 6 weeks later he called one morning and said they had finished another job early and could come by that afternoon. I would rather have had more notice since I had to go off to work and would not be home, but my husband, home with a foot injury, was able to stay while they did the job.
I was a little concerned about the septic tank being so close to the tree, but the equipment they use is able to maneuver into tight spots and they were quite efficient. There were a few limbs that came down during the removal, a few shingles came off and the gutter got a dent in it. I think this was unavoidable and this was not a problem. Someone actually came back the next day to make sure all the debris was off the roof, fixed the shingles and was able to get most of the dent out of the gutter.
All in all we were quite pleased with the crew and the work. As requested they also cut the tree all the way to the ground and cut it in 4 ft sections. Removal of the tree from the premises would have been an additional fee and we just did not had the funds at this time. The only concern is that some of the logs are lying a few inches from the septic tank opening. Had I been at home when they did the job I would have asked them to stack them away from the septic tank.
We would certainly hire them again. Tony was exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

"Thank you for the comment post. Regretfully, a limb did fall from the tree as soon as my crew foreman touched it. The tree was so dead it was barely standing. I was surprised that we were able to get the tree down without doing more damage. We did repair the damaged shingle and during the process noted several other damaged shingles from limbs that had fallen in the past year or so. This is a great learning experience for homeowners. Get rid of dead trees shortly after they die. Prolonging the removal only makes things more dangerous AND more expensive."

They did an exceptional job removing the trees! I have three knockout rose bushes that were no more than four feet from the tree and they were not broken in any way. All debris was picked up and hauled away.

All tree removal companies seem to be backed up with lots of work. I had three estimates for the tree removal. One was more than double the cost, and the third was about $75 less. That company didn't have as consistently great reviews on Angie's List, so I went with Bobby's Tree Service. All three told me it would be about 4-6 weeks before the job could be completed.
The day they came they worked very efficiently! They removed the upper limbs, and a couple of guys kept the ground clear of leaves and small branches. They fed those into a mulching machine. Others manned the ropes, and the last one was in the big bucket up high doing the cutting. They worked very quickly and left the place extremely clean! Very impressed!

Hard working employees. Lot of work done perfectly and quickly. Everyone knew their job and were like a well oiled machine working together. We enjoyed watching them from our windows. Shows how a business should be run and it starts at the top. All the men were respectful of our yard, plantings and us. Tony answered his phone promptly came to see the property a few days later. He and my husband walked it to see what was needed and what we wanted the end result to be. Due to such a rainy summer it took awhile before they could schedule a time to come, but it was well worth the wait. We commend them for JOB WELL DONE!

I have used this provider many times in the last 20 years. I dealt with the father and now with his son. They are professional and I have never had any complaints about their work. They are amazing considering what they do in such close proximity to the house. They return phone calls, easy to get a quote, price is fair, show up when they say they will, complete work on time and budget and clean up ALL debris. Clean up included raking yard and blowing off driveway, walkway, deck, and even the roof.

When I first called, got an immediate answer, and they quickly came by to consider the projects and offer estimates. We accepted the offers as fair and reasonable. The work was scheduled and done promptly. Service was excellent; the people were friendly and professional. Clean up was thorough. The only issue was mine -- when I asked for an estimate on cutting down the walnut tree, I forgot to include grinding up the stump; but BTS offered me the name/phone of a sub who could do that job, and the sub came out quickly that afternoon to finish the work at a very reasonable price ($30). I am highly impressed with this operation and would hire them again and recommend them.

Having been burned by a door-knocker shortly after we bought our house in the woods, we finally got up the nerve to call to ask for help from professionals. Not only was Tony's estimate (w/ Bobby's TS)ta better priced, he was more personable and friendly to deal with. (We almost choked on an arborist's estimate, and I really couldn't figure out how his work would be done any differently.) Tony always showed up on time, spent as much time as needed to consult and reassure us, and didn't try to upsell us on trees we weren't planning on removing. Also, he was very flexible with helping us prioritize trees to be done now (for safety/tree health) vs. later (for aesthetics/long-term health).
The day-of, things went pretty smoothly, and what a difference the right machinery makes in getting a job done quickly and efficiently. The chipper did get jammed late in the day, but it only prevented a couple of trees from being chipped. The foreman checked in with me twice throughout the day to make sure we were on the same page in fulfilling the contract. A few days later when I was walking around further back on the property I found a small, forgotten tree trunk, but it's understandable -- the ivy is very thick there!
(I'll admit I let a couple small things slide on clean up because the crew was in a hurry to get to the next job.) Then, Tony returned the next workday to grind the stumps and receive payment.
**Yes, it WAS kinda messy, but we weren't concerned with our yard getting torn up as it's being regraded soon. (It's understandable though -- those trucks are HEAVY. And of course they offered to put seed/straw down; we declined.)
Overall, I'd highly recommend them; we've definitely found our tree care company!

I was very impressed with Bobby's Tree Service from the estimate through completion of the job. I had contacted another tree service and they asked me to call them a day before the appointment to remind them of the appointment, which I thought was very unprofessional. On the date of the estimate they did not show up, nor did they call to apologize or reschedule. Fortunately, I also made an appointment for an an estimate with Bobby's Tree Service on the same day and they showed up 10 minutes early!
Bobby's Tree Service gave me an estimate for the work that was far less than I expected and I was able to get some additional work done.
I will definitely use Bobby's Tree Service again and will highly recommend their service!
