 + -1 moreI was very pleased. Plumbers were on time, courteous, and professional. They showed that they were experienced with kitchen renovations. I called other plumbing companies for this work but they were by far the most knowledgeable over the phone.
Description of Work: Removed a kitchen sink for a countertop installation. Reconnected plumbing to a new kitchen sink, garbage disposal and faucet after new countertops were installed.

 + -1 moreI was very happy with the whole experience with this company. After telling them I was an Angie's List member, they got me an appointment for the next day, which was REALLY GREAT! I appreciated being fit into their tight schedule. They were professional and friendly on the phone. The plumber (Steven) was also professional. He explained in an easy to understand way what the problems were and how he could fix it. He promptly fixed the issues. I was very relieved to get these problems fixed because my three year old and I had a bad stomach virus and kept "tossing our cookies," so to speak, and I had to do lots of laundry and lots of bathing. I needed lots of hot water!
Description of Work: Looked at electric water heater and determined one of the elements was burned-out- needed to be replaced. Fixed leaky shower diverter

drain cleaning
 + -1 moreTwo men came and cleaned the line with a device that is designed to cut roots as it is fed through the line. We are satisfied with the results though the price is a little high, probably because they used two men. Our previous plumber did it for $75, but he has moved. Because this was our first time using Hobbs, we're satisfied, but next time, we will specify send only one plumber for the job. If they can't do that, we'll be looking for someone who can.
Description of Work: Our sewer line needs cleaning about once a year because tree roots slowly block the line. We have a clean out connection that makes it relatively easy to run something through the line to cut the roots and clear any blockage. We can tell when the line is draining slowing, and we have the work done before the line is completely blocked. Hobbs came and did the work.

 + -1 moreCalled WH Hobbs to set an appointment for an estimate since their reviews were quite good. When I called, I was told that the person who does estimates was not in. And was directed to that person's voice mail. That person never called me back. I thought this was incredibly unprofessional and worthy of a review of my own. The work was awarded to a competitor, and was performed flawlessly.
Description of Work: We had our 70 year-old house re-plumbed from galvanized to PEX Piping.($3000.00)

 + -1 moreIt went very well. They had a little bit of trouble getting the specific toilet in stock, but this was not an emergency situation. Installation was fast and clean, and the plumber didn't leave junk behind. He also tested flushing capability before demonstrating it to me. The new toilet flushes better and with less water than our old one. I'm very pleased with it.
Description of Work: Plumber replaced our downstairs toilet. We decided to do this after the plumber came to check the toilet for frequent clogs. After ruling everything else out, we determined that our old, cheap toilet wasn't up to the job anymore.

 + -1 moreHobbs did an excellent job on my house! The appraisal was half the price of another Angie's list company, and the professionalism, courtesy and knowledge of these folks was excellent. They explained what and how they were doing things, and even pointed out another repair that is important to the house that is not plumbing related. They also cleaned up (including my floor) after they finished. I give them an A+ and will use them for my primary plumber from here on!

 + -1 moreThe response was adequate, considering the work required... and we were not in dire straits. My wife dealt with the workers and was very comfortable with their work. Price, seemed a bit high.. but I am not a good judge of costs.
Description of Work: Our home is 60 years old and has original drain. Drain was stopped up. Hobbs Company came out the day after I called. They had to create a Drain Clean Out access, by digging in the yard. This was complicated by the frail condition of the old pipe. They 'snaked' out the problem, probably roots growing thru rusty pipe toward the street.

 + -1 moreThis was a very difficult job for Dean, bur he came through with flying colors. His 25 years of plumbing experience certainly came in handy. Very professional, on time, and I got right through to them. It was a pleasure doing business with them!!
Description of Work: The main water line into my house was leaking. I have a well and the pump was running nonstop. There was a great deal of standing water in the crawl space. The existing leak could not be accessed because the pipe ran through concrete. The piping had to be rerouted and tied into the existing piping in a different way. Drilling through the concrete slab that used to be the carport was necessary.

 + -1 moreIn contrast to another plumbing company we hired last year for about the same problem, this company knew what they were doing and did it beautifully. They did not over promise and they did over-deliver. Great.
Description of Work: They unclogged our sewer main by locating and digging to the outside drain hole. They extended the clean up hole so access will not be difficult in the future.

Description of Work: WORK ON WATER PIPES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD RESULTED WITH A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF AIR IN THE LINE. THE VIOLENCE OF THE AIR WORKING ITSELF OUT OF THE LINE LEFT ME WITH A FAUCET THAT WOULDN'T SHUT OFF ALL THE WAY. IT WAS THE TUESDAY NIGHT BEFORE EASTER WEEKEND. I DIDN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BUT FIGURED IF I DIDN'T CALL RIGHT AWAY IT COULD GET WORSE AND I'D BE STUCK OVER THE WEEKEND. I CALLED HOBBS BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE (REFERRAL FROM ANGIE'S LIST). THEY KINDLY EXPLAINED THAT MOST LIKELY SOME TRASH IN THE LINE HAD GOTTEN STUCK UNDER A WASHER AND WOULD NEED TO EITHER BE CLEANED OUT OR REPLACED. THEY WERE ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE NEXT AFTERNOON.

 + -1 moreThat is exactly what occurred and we immediately got onto Angie's list to find another plumber who could complete the job correctly and we did AND at a lower cost. Angie's List can document all the facts as they should keep documentation of when a member makes a request!!! Which we did after the two visits by WH HOBBS.
Description of Work: On initial contact the vendor was told the water heater that burst was supported on one rafter and therefore leaning. When the leak sprung the drip pan was broken away since the heater leaned. Also told the person my husband would build a platform to sit the water heater upon so this would not occur again. Also told them to call him for directions and any other specs before quoting, which the vendor did. Then a verbal quote was agreed upon - ceilings were falling and we had no hot water so this was something we needed ASAP. As previously reported, the first visit the workers brought the water heater and NO drop cloths. They wanted to take the old rusty water heater down from the attic across our white carpet and we told them NO, come back tomorrow with clean drop cloths and the correct pipe (which they did not have to begin with and these are PLUMBERS?) The next day they returned still without the correct pipe and one very dirty drop cloth.

HE SHOWED ME HOW TO RESET THE DISPOSAL IF IT SHOULD JAM AND MADE SURE THERE WERE NO LEAKS BEFORE LEAVING. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY'S SERVICE AND WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM AGAIN.
