Trimmed back trees in the front yard and along the side and back yards and hauled away all of the trimmings.

Really liked these guys -- They know what they're doing, and had some creative solutions to work with us within our budget. After the initial estimate in person, they were able to complete the job while we were at work, which was very convenient. They did a great job and cleaned up afterward -- no supervision required. Highly recommend.

I purchased a big deal, $200 for $400 worth of work. I made appt for a Saturday between 8am oand noon for him to come to do estimate. At 12:15, after not hearing from him, I called to see where he was. His wife said he was held up at another appt. I feel someone shd have called me and informed me of that. However I waited and he showed up about 45 min later. He told me what he could do for my $400 and I was shocked it was so little. I had not gotten other estimates so I was unprepared for the very high cost of tree work. We worked out a deal that he wd come back and remove 4 branches from one tree in my front yard. He did just that about a week and a half later. I wasn't home at the time so I don't know who did the work but they left a large amount of twigs and broken branches in my yard which I had to clean up later. I wasn't too happy about that, but the tree looks better and is safer.

After my first interaction with the company I decided to go a different route. The price that was given I felt was too high for the job.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. I used it within a few week after I purchased it. I never saw them. They told me when they were going to come and I told them that was not convenient, I would not be here. He said that the only time I could come, another words take it or leave it. So I never saw them. I guess the work is alright. They cleaned everything up, but you see I wanted to talk to them, they said I could get two trees trimmed for that and I wanted to talk to them about trimming a third tree but by the time I got back from an appointment that I already had they had come and gone and so I said the heck with this. I will just get someone else to do it. He said that's the only time we'll be in your neighborhood and I thought well heck you know.

The provider did not contact us in the time promised when we bought the deal from Angie's List, which was supposed to be in 2 business days. In fact it was at least 2 weeks later and I had to hunt them down. Purchased the deal on 7/22/13, estimate was done 9/4/13. Brock came out for the estimate and talked to my husband, I was also home. They walked the whole yard and took pictures. We specifically bought this package for a tree in our backyard that needed to be trimmed back as it was hanging very low over our deck and yard. We also had some other trees in the front that we asked about during the estimate as well. He took pictures of the backyard tree and the front trees and stated no problem, all work on all trees we pointed out could be done within the package price we purchased. We made the appointment to have the work done. When they showed up and started the work they did the front yard trees and Brock rang the doorbell and said they were done. I stated no that the backyard tree was also supposed to be done as that was the whole reasoning behind buying this package. He stated he had no record of any backyard tree needing trimming and that my husband never showed him the backyard at all BUT for $50 bucks extra and a good review on Angie's List they would do it. I know this was false, I was there the day he came out for the estimate and watched him take pictures of the backyard tree, again the only reason we bought this package was specifically for this tree in the back. I called my husband at work and he reiterated the same. I went back to the guy and said no way, that the tree in the back was why we bought this package and I was home the day the estimate was done I saw him taking pictures of the tree in back while talking with my husband, maybe he needed to check his phone photos again and make sure he had the right house. He then said fine we'll do it but again asked that we give him a good review on Angie's List. This made me a little uncomfortable that he kept asking me to give him a good review, especially after he tried to get more $. I have hesitated for a while even writing this review honestly, I don't like to be that complaint people. However Angie's List is very persistent about reviewing the deal purchased so I figured it was time to do so. I would not use this company again, we had a very simple project and it seemed to me it should not have been this difficult to get it done.

Brock Spaulding and one helper removed 7 pine trees from my back yard. He did a great job cleaning up, and was very careful not to damage my fence and deck. I would use this provider again.

I had a coupon so Spaulding performed the minimum of what they would do in a single trip... They wanted to keep raising the price for the work being done - kept complaining that my $250 for $500 or work not cover the job. Each time I asked for a limb to be cut if they worker had to climb the tree that was another $150 additional. I was not overly impressed with the clean up effort and the stumps should have been cut closer to the ground.

I needed a large tree trimmed(over 30ft tall) because it was growing over the neighbors house and there were concerns of damage if it fell or lost limbs. I investigated on Angies list and found Spaulding Tree service. After purchasing one of the deals on Angies list for $199 for $400 worth of tree service I contacted Spaulding TS and made an appointment to have them do an estimate. Brock ,the owner came out and investigated what I would be needing and as we were talking I added another tree that I wanted removed. After giving me a price we then added a third tree that I wanted trimmed, as it was growing over our chimney and also needed shaping. Brock gave me an affordable price with the coupon and we set up a time for the work. The day before the work Brock called and asked if he could reschedule as he was very busy and could get to it in about 2 days. This new time and date worked fine and I was at the location when he arrived. He and his helper performed all the needed work in about 4 hours and I must tell you it was a very big job because of the height and the size of the trees. Complicating this work was that my home and the home of my neighbor's was very close to the "action". Brock was very professional and his helper very cordial and pleasant. I watched their work off and on for the entire 4 hours as I was very interested in how they did their work. It was starting to get dark so they asked if they could leave the debris until in the morning when they would dispose of all the limbs and such. This posed no problem and they cleaned the entire yard up and hauled off the debris the next morning. Brock and his team did an excellent job on the trees and I will gladly use them again when I need tree service. Thanks to Brock, Spaulding Tree Service and Angie's list I got the job that I wanted done and done right!

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was good. The big deal was for 50% off of 200 Dollars worth of work, but he didn't explain what would be 200 Dollars worth of work. He trimmed a few branches and took 99 Dollars and went. He talked well, and he was nice.

Cut down 5 trees. Fast, steady work. Did ask for money prior to job being completed. Did some damage to my fence but did come back to fix it a few days later.

They weren’t really interested in doing anything because the job wasn’t big enough. He was very nice but I would never recommend them. He quoted me a price for thousands of dollars and if he didn't get that, he wasn't going to do the work. The ad was very misleading.

Went with another company but would like to thank Brock for his promptness and responsiveness.

The price was not the lowest estimate I received, but having had Spaulding in the past I knew the workmanship would be outstanding. They came on time, did a wonderful job and left my property clean. I could not fine one stick to pick-up after they left. Dr. John Ellison

It went pretty well. I have a lot of trees and some of them are fairly large. The purpose of me calling them was to get rid of a tree that was dead. It had been hit by lightning and it was going to come down either by man's hand or on it's own. So while they were here I suggested other things that they could do for me and they did them very well. The owner of the business had a great character and we had a talk and turns out we were both entertaining. I paid him additionally for the extra work that they did probably close to $1000 in total. I had them do sever rooting up of 3 threes and disposing of them. We were bartering as well. I thought they were very capable with going up the trees and handling them in a very efficient manner.

They were on-time and I would definitely use them again.

Mr Spaulding and his wife were very responsive, pleasant. He came to look at the work I wanted done and gave an estimate on Saturday. We agreed he would come around 8am the following Monday. His wife called on Sunday and said he would be coming later in the morning, around 1000, depending on traffic. I had already planned my day so this wasn't the most convenient for me but I agreed to the later time. He and another gentleman came to do the work on Monday morning a little after 1000. They did not use a chain saw because it wasn't working so the work went slower. At 1130, Mr Spaulding left to go to Lowe's to get a part needed to repair the chain saw and they were gone about 30 minutes. With the chain saw working, the work went faster. It took a total of about two and a half hours to get the trees cut down, cut into pieces and loaded into the truck. I asked about the big chippers I had seen other tree companies use in the neighborhood where the entire tree was fed in and it was very quick. He said he had one but it was much more expensive to use and doing it by hand saved money. I used an Angie's List Deal for this, $200 for $400 of work, so I ended up paying $500 out of pocket for $700 of work.

The job went very well.they cam out to give an estimate. They called To scheduled a date to perform the service. On the date of the service they came on time and completed the service.

Mr. Spaulding contacted me several times after purchasing his Angie's List Deal to see if I was ready to make an appointment, which I appreciated. I finally contacted him close to the expiration date (my bad), and we set a time for him to come by and look at what we had in mind for his services. I have to tell that Mr. Spaulding was here promptly after repeated phone calls to confirm the appointment, but none of we three adults here at home at the time heard the doorbell, so WE missed the appointment. We called later that day to apologize, and Mr. Spaulding and his receptionist were very gracious about our mistake, and immediately set up another time. We made contact the second time, and after looking at the job, decided on a price and set up a work time. Mr. Spaulding sent a crew of five to perform the job, and the men did an excellent job. Cleanup of debris could have been a bit better, but it was on par with other tree services we've hired over the years, and I have to say that I'm probably too particular on that account. All but the stump removal was done that day, and we paid the full amount of the contract. We were told that another party would come within the next few days to do that, and it happened as stated. The "fly in the ointment" happened next. Weeks later we hired a landscape company to ready the hole where the stump was for replanting, and they found more of the stump left in the ground. To save time, we paid that company to remove the rest of the stump, but my husband was NOT happy. He contacted Mr. Spaulding to explain what happened, and after some time Mr. Spaulding sent a check to us for reimbursement. So, things have been settled to our satisfaction, and we now would like to recommend Spaulding Tree Service to Angie's List customers. The actual work that was completed was done well. They performed the job quickly and to our satisfaction. However... When they came out to give us the estimate, they 'guaranteed' they would do the service within 7 days. He even reinforced that the time guarantee was central to their business, etc. After 7 business days passed, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I called. They were "trying to get more business in my area" so they could do multiple at once. Had they come out in the next couple of days I would have been fine with that. However, it was a full 2.5 WEEKS after the 7 day time passed before they came out. - Multiple calls and voicemails were exchanged, each time I was assured they would be out in the next few days. But always in response to my call, never did they call of their own volition. - When they finally got there, the crew was supposed to notify me it was done so I could inspect it before they left. They left without a word. The job was done well enough, but yet again there was a promise that went unfulfilled. Should we need tree work in the future, we will go with another company. Communication is key.

Performed work in a timely manner and were punctual with call backs. Purchased a coupon (paid $200 for $400 value) and was charged additional amount ($400) above coupon (total of $800 value with $600 paid), but I am not sure of the pricing for the work we had done.

I called the number that I was given by Angie List, talked with receptionist and person came out and estimated my work request for an additional $400 to what I had already paid Angie's list. I was willing to clean-up the area afterwards. He said he would get me a contract for the proposal. Not hearing from the Service after 3-4 weeks regarding my contract, I called and got the excuse that all the rain had slowed their work, nothing it seemed to just get me a contract. I had real doubts by this time about their service, so I said just do the initial contract. Negotiated another $200 out of me. After setting up a time to be home three times and them not showing-up; they finally showed-up forty-five minutes late and once they did the work , it was very satisfactory. The whole process took way to much of my time and it didn't feel like they respected my time and schedule.

I initially had trouble contacting the provider, calling several times and sending emails. After about a week of this, I got a hold of someone who said they would email me to set up a date and time. They never did. After several more days, I reached them via email and set up an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I couldn't reach them via phone, and waited at home all day for them. I called several times, and their voice mail box was full? The next day, I got an email from them wanting to come a different day. At that point, I was fed up with the unprofessionalism. Thank you.

They were able to come by the house within a couple of days to assess the work. I had some trees removed at our church and had a rough idea of the cost, and thought my Big Deal price would cover the cost of the large dead tree, then I would need to pay extra for the smaller trees. My wife first met with them as I was on a call when they arrived. She came back in with a price that was about 50% more than I expected, and honestly made it impossible. I ended my call and went outside to talk with him. He was honest about the reasons for the cost, but it was still high. He offered to just refund our money, as he said that sometimes happens. I explained the other work I had recently done and that cost, which caused him to reconsider the price a bit. We were able to negotiate something that seemed a little high, but I needed the work done and decided to proceed. One thing that caught my eye in the title of the listing was that the work would be done by a certified arborist. That was actually one reason I went this route, as I new it would be challenging to remove one of the trees without damaging the one beside it. In addition, I was hoping for a little guidance on whether or not removing that specific tree was a good idea, or what other options I might have for getting the space a little cleared out. I did not get that type of input during the assessment, and as mentioned above, there was some damage to other trees. I wanted to add this, as you may want to keep it in mind if your need is for a certified arborist to do something special. I've worked with an arborist in the past where they assessed the health of the tree, the shape, what other trees might be better to remove, etc. I just didn't experience that here. Not anything bad, but just not quite the level of advice and guidance I was expecting. Once we settled on a price, he took a video of the space and the trees, making notes as he went along. They came out within 2 days to do the work, and did a good job. There were some branches left behind, and a little damage to surrounding trees, but nothing that was too unexpected. They did good work, and followed up to make sure everything was okay. I also got a follow up card from them a few weeks later. If you need someone to remove trees and do it quickly and cleanly, I would recommend them.
