Spaulding Tree Service

Purchased as a gift for family member. Poor overall experience with lack of communication from provider. Did get an estimate that seemed high compared to services provided by a tree service that I personally use. Finally gave up trying to get the work done. Would not recommend this provider.

I would not recommend that guy. He's not anywhere close to what was advertise. I wouldn't want anybody threatening with my wife there being by herself sometimes. It was one of the reasons, I almost called the sheriff. We had an issue on the discussion and he started getting a little scarier. The guy who came out was not a harbourer either. They have limited knowledge; it's just someone who hires some local help. Basically takes the bulk of money I paid this guys; very little. I would never hire them again.

I purchased a "Big Deal" discount for Spaulding Tree Service. The representative who came to house gave a total quote of $1200 to trim 7 trees. I was out of town when he wanted to schedule so I postponed him. While I was out of town, my daughter, concerned with high cost of Spaulding, obtained two other quotes from companies highly rated on Angie's List. One company's quote was $200 less than Spaulding. The other company's quote was $400 less then Spaulding's quote, plus this company had been awarded "Super Service Award". I ended up hiring this "Super Service Award" winner. Indeed, this company was "super" to work with - friendly, knowledgeable, good explanation of how trees should be trimmed. The price quoted by Spaulding was "not a "Big Deal" discount at all. I will be more careful about using Angie's List "Big Deals" in the future.

Mr. Spaulding came and marked the trees that I wanted removed and made appointment for his crew to come and remove the trees. The crew came as promised. They carefully removed the trees without damaging any other plantings. They removed and hauled away the large wood. They cut the stumps closed to the ground as we requested. They ground and placed a truckload of mulch where we requested the pile to be put. I will definitely use them again next year.

It went very well- crew did a good job and cleaned up after work.

The worker (Jose) that can out did an excellent job, was very professional and offered some tips on keeping the tree healthy. He cleaned up the area so well that honestly you couldn't tell they had been there. Due to my work schedule, the owner keep in constant contact with me to work out a date for doing the tree trimming, and gave me a great price.

I called him and he said he would call me Monday 15-30 minutes before he arrived. Never heard from him, so I emailed him and told him to forget it.

This was a really good experience. The guys were here on time -- got right to work -- and cleaned up any mess that was made. I will definitely use them again!

Brock and his team did a great job removing two very large trees from my back yard. I received an estimate within a week of contacting him and the work was done about a week later. It was a little pricey but well worth it. Thanks!

I bought the coupon hoping to move 2 trees and remove one tree because the gas company said they were in the right of way. He said there was nowhere to move the oak tree, and the cherry tree would cost 300.00 to move. I told him I couldn't afford to move the tree at this time. He has kind of a pushy personality which I did not care for.

Came out and checked out site. Called 3days later to complete work. Did an outstanding job. Perfect removal and clean up. Highly recommend. Thanks for taking care of me.

I originally purchased a Big Deal with Spaulding Tree Service through Angie's List last year (in August or September, it's been so long I can't remember the exact date - more to follow on that). Having purchased a home in May of 2013, I wanted to remove a dead tree that was covered in poison ivy very close to my back porch, pull out poison ivy that was growing along my fence line, and cut back some tree branches that were overhanging my roof line. Mr. Spaulding was happy to come out and personally survey the work, and he videotaped everything. That was great. But subsequent service began to leave me with doubts, and it only got worse. He was understandably busy given the time of year, but he did not provide decent advance notice of his (and his crew's) arrival. When they did show up, they didn't even have gloves to use - and wound up asking for ours. When he and his crew finished chopping down the tree and clearing the poison ivy, he began to pressure my wife (I was at work) for payment even though he hadn't cut the branches back from my house. He promised us that 1) the stumper would arrive soon to grind down the tree stump, and 2) he would return the following week to cut back the branches. So my wife agreed and wrote him the check for the remainder of the fee. With that, he left. The stumper showed up and did his job, but Spaulding never showed up again. I called him repeatedly to get him to come back and finish the job, and he always promised to do so but then never called me back. We continued to play this back and forth game, where Spaulding would say he's really busy and will try to come out next week, and then two weeks later I would call him to ask where he was, etc etc, until January/February of this year. This was the reason why I have delayed writing my review - I wanted to give him ample time to make the job right, but he has not done so. I understand that people are busy, and I realize that it's hard to find good help these days. But the fact that Spaulding treated my wife unprofessionally in an effort to get money and then became a ghost when he hadn't finished his job has forced me to write this review. To make matters worse, in November, right in the middle of this dog and pony show, another tree service company that was working in our neighborhood came by to see if we wanted them to cut the tree branches away from our roof line - something I had already paid to take care of with Spaulding! I can not recommend Spaulding Tree Service and I cannot see any reason why I would ever use them again. I love to write good reviews on here, and it pains me to write this one. Choose someone else.

Mr. Spaulding responded immediately to my initial email. He arrived as agreed and quoted an estimate. Unfortunately the price of ($7,5000) was too expensive as my husband and I are on a fixed income.

Working with Brock was a great experience. We had a couple miscommunication issues, however, everything was cleared up in the end. He apologized for the miscommunication and really catered to the customer. The work was great and they cleaned up and hauled all the leaves like they said. He's even letting me have the $50 extra credit left over to work on another tree stump once I get the area surveyed. Overall the experience was top notch and I'm definitely going to be using him again.

Only wanted 1 coupon but it gave me two. Need refund of $199.00.

I was quoted much higher prices by 2 other tree companies, one of the quotes was TRIPLE Spauldings price. ** Everyone at this company is pleasant and timely. Very happy with service.

The guy was super prompt. He seemed to have done a really good job. I am still waiting to see him having issues with my one tree that they trimmed, but I don't know if that has something to do with that though. I am not complaining. He did a lot of stuff. I used the coupon and for a little more money, he did a whole bunch of different stuff for me. He took down a tree and nicely handled that. I would definitely recommend him. He told me his expertise is in like trimming of the shrub and like that. I didn't do a whole lot of that because I just wanted the big tree taken down, but he did some of that for me. It was a great deal. I was very pleased. He immediately got more work from two of my neighbors. It worked out really well for me and him.

I would not use them again because they tried to up-charge me and they were kind of intimidating. The guy showed up in his car not ready to do anything and he didn't even have a ladder. He finally did do the work, but he hemmed and hawed about the work.

Brock came to the house and gave a full assessment of the trees in the yard. He made several recommendations and advised on two trees in particular that were dead and could cause damage to the house. His price was very reasonable and he came back the next day, as promised, to begin the work. Brock did a great job and my trees look so much better. We are scheduled to cut the dead trees later this month.

It went decently overall. I have a specific tree I bought the deal for and they basically raised the bottom by trimming up to about 10 feet so it looked cleaner. They took away all of the leaves/branches and the yard looked fine when they were done. The value of the deal didn't feel like it was a discount when it was all said and done. I felt like I paid full price.

The arborist was very knowledgeable of his trees but I was not impressed on the labor that transpired.

Brock and his team were amazing! I had 6 other "well known" companies come out and give estimates for the work I needed done. Brock was priced great, very attentive and got the job done fast and efficiently! He even sent his team out right away after I felt one tree still needed a limb or two removed. They left the job site clean and were just a pleasure to work with! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND you give them a call.

I was not impressed. The way I understood it was you pay $500 for tree service, but when he got out here, he said that I get $240 off. I did not know what cost to this $500 tree service thing. So, I ended up paying a lot more for $240 for something that took 3 hours to do. So, this coupon, I am not so sure, I had to be messing with them anymore. Just me, it seemed that if you do 3 hours of work with the crew, you pay like $500, especially if you are thinking, you are getting a lot of money, and you think it will take longer. They did what I asked them to do but not having familiar with that kind of work, I did not feel good about it. Honestly I do not remember, it was over a year ago. I expect, it was like I ended up spending about $500. I do not really recall. I think pretty soon that we could do.

I just asked Angie's list for a refund after purchasing $500 of tree services for $249. I first called them to schedule an estimate before Christmas - at which time he pretty rudely told me that he only does estimates on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I had to call him back. I called back after 1/1 and scheduled the estimate for Saturday, January 11th. THen he called me back and re-scheduled for Sunday, January 12th between 9-12. He was a no-call, no-show on 1/12. Then, he called the day after and apologized and for me to pick a convenient time. I scheduled for Friday, 1/17. He showed up, spent two minutes here and gave me an estimate of $700 for 3 trees. I reminded him that I bought the Angie's list deal and he said "oh yeah" - almost like he had wished he had given me a higher estimate. Then he called yesterday morning (1/20) and said he would be here between 3-5. Again, no-call, no-show. Finally, he sent me a text this morning that said he would be here between 10-1. It is now 12;46 and no-call, no-show. I am tired of dealing with this provider and would like my money back.

Brock and his team arrived at 8.30am as agreed and were extremely professional in working with us on our tree removal requirements. You can rest assured that they can handle trees of any size, shape or proximity to your home. They did a phenomenal job for us!
