They were very professional, I just had to get a refund because there was more work than I had anticipated.

I called 3/26 and he was here the next day. We went through exactly how he was going to trim the tree. He took his time and did an excellent job. Brock was friendly and very professional, he knew exactly what was needed to be done and did a great job!!

Unfortunately, the whole experience went poorly. I had purchased a "Big Deal" for $500 worth of tree service for $249. I should have understood at this point that the "deal" was not so great. I was now tied into this particular provider and had no way to do a competitive bid. The original estimate was $1000, but he raised it to $1500 because he said it was a difficult job. I knew that $1500 was way too high for only cutting down a tree (this did not include removal of the fallen tree). At this poinjt, I had no recourse but to accept the estimate because I had already commited the $249 for the deal. When he came to do the job, I was not home, but he decided to drop the tree in my neighbor's yard. If he had done this, it would have likely damaged 4-5 of my neighbor's trees. Fortunately, my neighbor was home and came out and talked him into a plan to drop it in my yard (with my approval on the phone). They then dropped the tree in my yard, but not exactly where they had planned, so it damaged another tree and my fence. (He did offer to repair the fence, but since we could not find the proper parts, he refunded $100 which will more than cover the cost of the repair). The bottom line is that I believe that I was overcharged for the work done. I believe that $1500 would have been a fair cost if it had included removal of the tree. I also believe that the problem with the fence and the tree could have been avoided if he had been more careful.

Mr Spaulding gave a fair estimate of the work to be perfomed. Brought in his crew the next day as promised. He cut down two trees that had begun to damage the cement drive. His crew cut down overgrown foliage that had covered the windows---my dog can now see the cat's crossing outside!!! A dogwood tree had been overtaken by holly - Mr. Spaulding cut the holly and made the dogwood tree stand out so it can shine. A Huneysuckle bush was cleared out that was suffocating a Crepe Myrtle tree.

Brock was very responsive and called me the day after I had purchased a Big Deal. He tried to fit us in his schedule multiple times and arrived a day later to take pictures and give a quote. The following week, his team removed the trunk and did all clean up - only a little dust remained. Would definitely use his services again.

Spaulding was quick to respond to my request for a quote. He came to my home and said he could do the work for $500. I told him I would pay $475 and had an Angie's List deal that gave me $200 worth of service for $99 (with a final amount owed by me of $275 additional at time of service). We agreed on the price, however the information he sent me did not include the Angie's List $200 value only the $99 I paid for it. The first appointment we scheduled for the work to be done he cancelled the day of because his truck broke down. The next appointment the crew did a great job and even cut down some unruly crepe myrtle "sprouts". They did the work quickly and cleaned up most of the debris. The contractor later said he quoted me a total of $575 and with the Angie's List deal I owed him $375. I questioned him about it and indicated that his own invoice showed me owing him $375 without applying the Angie's List value of $200. So according to that document I should have only paid him an additional $175. I told him I wanted to pay him fairly for the work that we agreed upon and the price we agreed upon. He wouldn't budge and insisted on the full $375, bringing my full amount paid to $474 ($575 worth of service). I would have never agreed to that total amount for the amount of work that was done. I was able to get my $99 back from Angie's List but will never work with this company again. I recommended in the future he prepare more detailed invoices that show the full amount of the services, subtract any coupons or promotional deals, and detail the amount still owed by the customer at time of service to avoid this from happening in the future. I thought the crew did a good job but the business owner could use better customer management skills.

The other companies we interviewed for the job had equipment that was visible. Aside from the reviews on Angie's List, I don't know too much about Spaulding Tree Service. I'm not sure if he is able to handle such large trees, and with them being so close to the house, I felt more comfortable going with a larger company.

The owner, Brock, called promptly after I purchased my Angie's coupon and inquired about the project. I took a picture of the tree and sent it via email so he would know what to expect. He called to confirm his appointment the following day and arrived promptly. He was very professional and thorough and did exactly what was needed and cleaned up after.

They came, did the job (which was a great deal). They did an estimative about other things to do, but the price that he gave to Us was pretty much higth, plus he is very far from here, so we are looking for another company to do the same work for a better price.

Spaulding showed up when they said. Did the work, then cleaned up afterwards. No problems or complaints. A good experience all around.

I was able to reach the owner on the first call. He came to perform an estimate that same afternoon and was friendly and professional. A start time was set for the next morning and the crew arrived 30 minutes early! The tree was surrounded by hydrangeas, laurels and hostas. They sucessfully removed both tree and stump without damage to surrounding vegetation and left the area cleaner than before. I highly recommend Spaulding Tree Service and will definitely call for future needs.

Good service and good clean-up

Great customer service and extremely professional. We requested weekend services and the company was very responsive and able to fit us in the same weekend. He did everything on time and as agreed upon. Called to say he was on his way, was on time, completed work and cleaned up debris. they even provided tips on future maintenance and what we needed to do to maintain the trees. I would definitely recommend them and use again in the future.

Once I purchased the service from Angie's, I immediately contacted the vendor to set up an appointment. Brock returned my call and asked for details regarding the type of service required. I had a tree branch which had grown so much it was scratching my window. Brock offered to come out the next day to provide an estimate. After surveying the tree he took video while documenting notes of what needed to be done. Brock provided an estimate of $150 which exceeded the $99 Angie's coupon, however with the size of the tree, it was an acceptable estimate. In addition Brock offered to come out on Sunday which was great as I didn't have to take off from work. After pruning the tree he picked up the branches & threw them in the back of my neighbors truck who offered to take them away. The tree look great and best of all, no more branches scratching my window pane.

I have no complaints with the work performed; I have referred Spaulding to two friends and I have reschedule them for a return to my property for auditioning tree trimming and removal in Q4 and Q1 2013.

They had very good service. He came when he said he was going to and did the job he said he was going to. He was very polite and easy to work with.

Everything turned out well. My wife was home when they performed the work, and she was very pleased with their service. Spaulding did everything that they promised, and they didn’t overcharge!
