Spaulding Tree Service

Mr. Spaulding contacted me fairly quickly after purchasing the big deal and set up a time for both the initial visit and actual work in a very reasonable period of time. While the price quoted for the entire job seems high, it was comparable to another service I'd used previously for similar work. Discounting the total quoted by the Big Deal pricing made the overall cost reasonable. I did have to specifically ask for a written statement of work. I was given a generic receipt form with very high-level details and pricing notes. (By comparison, another service I used previously, the arborist arrived, assessed the job, talked me through his recommendations, gave me a complete walkthrough of the service and the company, and then sent me a very detailed statement of work with a quote as a follow-up to that meeting before I agreed to the work/pricing.) Although Spaulding's site indicates they have a certified arborist, I wasn't able to find any information online about Mr. Spaulding being certified and/or of a certified arborist being on staff. Having said that, the team that came to do the actual work seemed very knowledgeable and competent. I was able to talk to the "team leader" to confirm what I needed done and what they intended to do before they started the work. The team had to wait out a severe downpour; which they did, instead of leaving and rescheduling. They also did a good job of cleaning up after completing the work and made sure that everything I requested was completed. Overall, I thought they did a good job for an acceptable price. For trimming services, I would consider this company again.

I explained what I needed done to their salesperson Brock. They did come out and take care of the work'. We had some issues but I called Brock and they were straightened out.

The company contacted me promptly after I purchased the coupon and we arranged a date for the work. Initially, the estimator quoted several projects that I was interested in but I could not afford all of the work that I had initially contemplated. However, I did ask them to remove a number of limbs from trees in my front yard. The work crew arrived later in the afternoon of the same day and performed the work as requested. They cut the limbs, carried off all of the tree limbs and swept the area underneath the tree. They also used a leaf blower to clean the area as well. The truck also had a large chipper attached and they were able to chip most of the limbs. They performed all of the work satisfactorily and I am confident that the work was worth at least $200 and maybe the $400 coupon amount. The total project was handled very professionally.

The experience was good, I think it was over priced and the discount given on Angie's list, brought it down to the normal price. They came and gave an estimate and said they could do all of it and said that the total charge would be 950 Dollars and gave me the discount. I got 650 Dollars worth of work at that much price.

The tree service went well. The guys were punctual and did the promised work.

I bought an Angie's List Deal giving me $400 worth of trimming for $199. I immediately emailed Spaulding Tree Service to set up an appointment. I had an email back quickly. I could have had Brock come for an estimate the next day but I couldn't be here so we agreed on the next day, which was a Saturday. Brock came and looked at the job we agreed that there were a couple of limbs over the house and a dead one over the driveway that should come down. Before I went to sleep Saturday night I had an email asking if they could do the job the next day - Sunday afternoon. Since mine was a small job, they could slip me in while they were in the neighborhood. The crew came, assessed the job and quickly went to work. The took care to move the walkway lights out of harm's way. The limbs were down in minutes. They cleaned up the limbs while Brock checked to make sure I was satisfied and were gone in less than an hour. Thanks guys!

.I called the company 7/8. They said they would call me 7/9 to set up an appointment to come out and give me an estimate for what i needed done. They did not return my call on 7/9. I called them and left a message but no response. They did call me Wednesday and told me they had forgotten to call me back 7/9. I told her I would call her back after I check with wife to see if Friday was OK. The rep said fine and to call her anytimethat night. I called back but an swering machine came on saying machine full, I called back today 7/11 and got answering machine.I will not use them because if it's this hard toget just an appointment, I can imagine what it would take to get them to do the job. Terrible,Terrible customer service

I was at first impressed that they got me on the phone to set up an appointment. But then it all went bad as you can read in the box above. I have no choice but to rate them low and also to rate Angie's list low as well, since they sent me the BIG DEALwhich turned out to be a BIG FLOP.

I called and spoke with someone in the office (she was constantly speaking back to someone else in the office - I assume she was new, or a temp). I explained that I was looking to schedule an appointment for an estimate on services of tree trimming and some tree removal. I actually need work done at my primary home and a rental property I own. I explained the scope (the properties are less than 2 miles apart) and was told someone would be able to come out either July 4, 5, 6 or 7th and I would receive a phone call to set up the details closer to the date. I realize it was a holiday week/weekend, but if they weren't available to come out during that time, they should not have offered the options. I never heard from anyone again. I am moving on to another provider, as I do not believe this company deserves a second chance to not call, not show up. This was my first experience using an Angie's List provider - so far, I'm not impressed.

Mr. Spaulding was prompt in responding to my phone call. It took a few weeks to set up the appt. They were very busy because it was an Angie's Big Deal. One of the limbs was over power lines and that made the job dangerous, but when his workers came they handled it all beautifully and professionally. The only thing I did not like was they used spikes to climb the tree. When I told Mr. Spaulding that he told me I could have requested them not to use spikes--which I would have done if I had known they planned to use them.

Great service, I was in constant contact with Brock throughout the process. They were extremely quick and considering how difficult the location of the tree was that needed to be removed, I was very impressed.

He arrived the day before and presented himself in a very professional way. I told him what we wanted done by showing him the neighbor's tree that was done pretty recent. He replied, "I'll do a better job than that". Mr. Spauling proceeded to take a picture of the inside and outside of the tree while orally making notes on a recorder. He came the next day, while we were out of town. The tree looked totally different! He did a wonderful job!

Owner, Brock and helper arrived right on time and explained what he would be doing, and asked me what I would like done. He did alot of work for the Angies' list Big deal, and really did more than we discussed. I'd say he went over and above what I expected. They bundled up all of the limbs and brush and neatly stacked it. They raked up any leftover branches, leaves. It really made a big difference. I feel it was a good price for all that work. And it was completed in a very short time. I liked that he didnt charge per hour. I would recommend Spaulding for any Tree work!

The service was excellent! I purchased a Big Deal, which paid for the majority of the service. The tree was a 16 year old tree. Mr. Spaulding cut down the tree and removed the debris. He did not require that I was home to meet him, but instead allowed for instruction via telephone and took care of the service without impacting our work responsibilities. For working people, this is a wonderful convenience and greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

As soon as I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal, Brock called to set up the appointment. I didn't even have to contact him! We scheduled a time to meet and he came on time. We went over the yard and he estimated the cost for what we wanted to have done. He gave us options and we asked his opinion on a few things. We then scheduled a time for the work to be done. He was able to schedule it within the week. They came on time, did the work and left. We were in and out of our home during the day so it wasn't even inconvenient. Brock was great to work with. He was punctual and professional, his crew was efficient and did a terrific job. I felt like I got an incredible deal for the work provided. I am so thrilled with my yard now that I had the trees removed.

Brock contacted me quickly after I purchased the Big Deal of $500 worth of work for $250. Brock came out and quoted an additional $50 from the Big Deal price. All I wanted was the tree taken down, no removal or cutting it up. I thought that was high, but ultimately agreed. We had a schedule conflict for a few days, but Brock was patient and cooperative. He called me one day and stated he could be there within about 30 min. It worked out for me so I said ok. His tree climber displayed professionalism and experience in taking down the tree. He cut several large limbs at the top and took the tree down in sections (no ropes, just dropped to the ground). Then it was cut at the base. The entire process took about 15 min or less. Overall I was pleased with the work.

I paid an extra $250 over the coupon.

They did a great job! They were very professional,timely and cleaned up very well. I would highly recommend their services.

I just recently purchased an older home that came with a nice size back yard and a lot of mature trees; one of which had limbs that were overhanging at my roof line. The representative came out and walked the yard with me to help me assess which trees should be trimmed and which would need to be completely removed. In addition, he helped me determine what could be done within my current budget and what could wait until a future date which I found extremely helpful as the home is in need of lots of work. We decided on the scope of work and a service date. The work was done quickly and no debris was left when they finished. I am very pleased with the work and will definitely call when I'm ready to trim the other trees.

we bought on Angies List deal for $500 worth of tree trimming at $250. I believe that all we really got was $250 worth, and then charged an additional fee of $ 50 to haul away wood This seems to be an ongoing thing with providers, they offer a deal, then only provide the service to the level of what was paid at the discounted rate oo good to be true, it probablyI will no longer buy these "deals", but will continue to use Angies List to find honest providers. I am not asking for something for nothing, but these offers come under the heading of if its too good to be true, it probably isn't

Hired them to remove dead roots. After initial appointment was not enough to finish the job, owner personally followed up and completed it as promised.

We had Spaulding Tree Service come out to take a look at what was to be done and we were quoted $3800 for a job that we had done 7 years ago and only cost us $1000. I also felt that the man who came out wasn't very knowledgable with the trees in our yard as he said he'd have to go back and look them up. He was very nice and kind, but we decided not to go with this company.

Brock was very knowledgeable and helpful in our decision making. If we decide in the future to have the above-ground roots removed, I will be sure to get Brock involved. He gave me a whole new appreciation for the complexity of this problem.

Brock was very easy to work with and takes pride in his work. I am a perfectionist and he is too. We were in total agreement on what limbs needed to come down and on the final symmetry look of the tree. We analyzed as he went and I now love the way my trees look - just the way I had visualized them. He was friendly, professional, and knows what he is doing. What would have taken me most of a day IF I had the right tools, he got done within an hour including clean up and hauling away the limbs. My neighbor was equally pleased with the work Brock did on his smaller trees and how great they look now. Definitely would call Brock again!
