Southern Moving

I  had purchased a used treadmill and needed it moved to my home, which was approximately 4 miles away from it's location.
Sawyers was able to do the job the day that I called, which was great!
Tyrone and Adrian arrived with the treadmill at the time I was told. They did get the treadmill in the house, but were not able to get into the room I wanted it set up in. I do not consider this their fault. I knew there could probably be some issues, with the size of the treadmill and the size of my doorways.
They made an attempt at taking the treadmill apart to move it into the spot I wanted, but there was not a manual with the treadmill at that time, so we were unable to see how/what we could remove safely.
After working on this for well over an hour, I requested that they just put it back together and I chose another spot for it. They really did try to place it where I wanted.
The cost originally seemed a little high to just move one item 4 miles, but  considering the amount of effort and trouble they had to go to, not really to bad on cost either.

Isaac and his crew of 4 additional men did an amazing job.  They worked relentlessly for 9.5 billable hours throughout the day.  They dis-assembled large furniture for the move and re-assembled each piece when we moved into new house.  They even helped me re-assemble my desk that they weren't involved in breaking down initially.  Also were very respectful of our belongings and made sure we were 100% pleased with the placement at the new house.  They were committed to staying as long as they had to on Monday to ensure the move was not only completed but that we were 100% satisfied with their efforts.  To summarize, they were on time, worked very hard, didn't damage anything, were professional and committed to doing the job to our utmost satisfaction.  I will recommend Southern Moving to anyone who asks.

Took a while to get a call back, but they seemed very friendly when they did call. Ended up going with a different company.

Issac and the other guys continue to do an excellent job. It had been a number of years since I needed their services, but it's always good to see a familiar face when you need help.  Randall gave me a break of price because what needed moving only took 17 minutes and not the full hour. Great honest company!

This was an A+ experience. Randall is a great guy and easy to deal with in terms of setup and pricing. On moving day, Isaac and a team of 5 others arrived on time and worked tirelessly in mid-August heat to get us moved. They did a great job, they were nice guys, very professional and made sure we were happy. They never once complained about the heat or the multitude of stairs they had to climb at our new house. Every single request or direction was met with "yes sir!" or "yes ma'am!" This was the 2nd time we have used Southern to move within Charlotte - I would not use anyone else.

Isaac and his team of 4 men arrived on time. They brought 2 trucks which they loaded quickly and effiencently. They never stopped for a break and all the items were placed in the correct location in the house. They were friendly and cheerful, and helpful. We were charged $150.00 per hour and $150.00 for the truck and driving time. They finished within 4.5 hours which was much faster than estimated.

Isaac and the entire crew were great. They spent extra time and effort to make sure we were satisfied. We would use this team again in an instant. They truly cared about doing the job right and making sure that we were satisfied.  We asked them for extra assistance that we had not agreed on originally and they completed the work in a timely manner.  We highly recommend this team.

We had the owner to our home and he provided an estimate of cost and some other guides.  He said he would confirm by email.  We had one other bid which was $200 higher.  We followed up a few days later with a call saying we hadn't received the confirmation.  We still didn't get it, so we confirmed with the other mover.
On the day of the move, Southern showed up with their truck (but without the owner).  Against my better judgement, I gave them the go ahead to load our funiture.  I called the other mover and cancelled.  I later agreed to pay the other mover a cancellation penalty of $200.
the move went smoothly except that one room (bedroom) was not moved.  The workers thought I said it didn't have to be moved (the door was closed) when, in fact, I wanted to indicate that it was ready to be moved.
The final price was $350-$550 more than the quote, even though one bedroom wasn't moved.  The owner said it was because it was an apartment (which he knew) and because some of the boxes weren't taped, which makes them hander to load and stack (the truck was far from full).
I complained about the price and the lack of follow up.  I sent a proposal saying if he would reimburse me for the cancellation fee ($200), I would consider the other issues a lack of understanding and that they had been satisfied.

WONDERFUL.  Southern Moving made an otherwise stressful experience extremely organized and stress free.  The guys (Isaac, Jared and Barry) arrived right on time and got to work. They were extremely careful with all of our items - wrapping each piece of furniture carefully and handling with care and delicately placing everything down.  Each of my requests, however annoying, was met with a "That's no problem" or "That's what we are here for."  These guys are top notch, reasonably priced and extremely professional.  It almost makes me want to move again ...

After my wife and I were married, we finally combined households and called Southern Moving to move my furniture in.  They quoted a reasonable price, showed up on time with workers who were unfailingly polite, and did the work efficiently and well.  I'd hire them again without hesitation.

It was a wonderful experience.  The owner come out to give us and estimate a month before the move.  His crew that actually moved us were professional and efficient.  Not a thing was damaged and if we move again, we will definitely call Southern Movers again!

From the time I scheduled the move with Randall, the owner of the company, we had extensive difficulties with communication.  Each time I spoke with Randall, he was unsure about the date of the move, who I was and the circumstances surrounding the job.  I was very patient in trying to explain everything and provide detailed information, however, it was never evident that these details were tracked in a customer file etc.  When the Southern Mover's crew finished the job and called Randall for us to settle up our bill, he told the crew leader that he would have to email us the invoice.  The crew leader was very confused by this because he said this was not normal practice.  With our first move, we were given an estimate for the cost and then settled up at the end of the day when the work was completed.  After waiting several days and never receiving an emailed bill, I called and left a message inquiring about the bill and about some outstanding wood floor repairs that Randall agreed to make due to damages sustained during our first experience with Southern Movers.  Not only did I never receive a return phone call, I never received an emailed invoice.  I waited roughly another two weeks and called again about scheduling the repairs for the wood floor and asking about the March 23rd invoice.  Yet again, I never received a call back.  On JUNE 27TH, over 3 months after the second move and 4 months after our initial move with the wood floor damages, Randall called and left a message saying "sorry about the- we had a lot..." indicating he was sorry about the delay and they had a lot going on.  He asked me to follow up with him by calling or emailing to get the invoice.  After all our time and effort in attempting to contact him, and not ever getting any follow up to schedule the repairs for the damages which happened at the first move, I am disgusted and appalled to NOW be requested to contact them for an invoice.  On June 28th, we received an email invoice requesting payment DUE on June 28th.  It is very irritating to be dealing with this company 3 months after the services were rendered.  We allocated funds on our end for this move when it occurred, and because of Southern Mover's disorganization and poor customer service, we are just now receiving an invoice.  For customers who are giving this company repeat business, this conduct is appalling and not what I would expect from a company who has been so highly rated on Angie's List.

The move could have not gone any better!  Southern Moving is AWESOME!  I'd recommend them to anyone in need of a PROFESSIONAL & COURTEOUS moving company! 

He informed me not to put the boxes outside due to the humidity. He informed me to leave the boxes in the house and he would come pick them up and place them in storage for eighteen months till i sold the house. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

They did a great job.

The movers were very careful. I would say that the owner is not very organized. They initially told me that they could move a piano and then the day of the move they said they couldn't move it and they didn't know why they said that and the owner said it. The movers themselves were excellent and just from an organizational standpoint they need a little work.

My experience with Souther Movers was FANTASTIC!  They were very professional and helpful. I need 4 pieces for furniture moved from my bedroom to my garage. I called other moving companies from Angies List they quoted me THREE TIMES THE PRICE!  Randall was so nice and helpful ,he knows the value of good customer service.  I will use Southern Movers in the future and I will spread the word about what a great experience I had with them. They were fantastic.  Very professional and hard working.  They knocked out this move in no time.  Everyone was polite and kept working the entire time.  Southern Moving was the highlight of an otherwise very difficult move.  If only my contractors worked as hard as they did.  They will always be my first call if I ever have to move again.

possibility the floor could get sratched.  I didn't make this request -- apparently, this is their approved protocol.  What a great company and people!  Their service just blew us away!  The prices are very reasonable and they are super fast, and don't leave until everything you needed them to do is completed (bed setups, and the like).  Hire these movers - they are super in our book!

They were very professional, trustworthy, nice, and easy to work with. I would definitely do business with them again.

I contacted Southern Moving to assist with an unload only move for my parents.  The guys showed up right on time, and Issac and crew (3 total) did a great job.  They were efficient and courteous and had no issues along the way. Even though I pitched in to move it along quickly, finishing in 2 hours exceeded my expectations.  Would definitely use them again, Thanks guys!
