Bob came out immediately to provide an estimate and said he could work with us on timing. We had a large maple in the front yard that had been struck by lightning and therefore was half-dead. Our power lines ran through the healthy, full side and were in danger of being knocked down in a storm, so we wanted it removed and the stump ground. We also had 2 large trees in need of trimming, 2 medium trees from neighbors' yards overtaking our yard, and a small tree growing sideways into another. Bob's estimate was right in line with other tree servicers, and he offered an Angie's list discount. He worked with us on timing, and despite his busy schedule made it happen in a week's time. His crew arrived early in the morning, working so quietly that our infant slept through the work outside her window. The crew worked hard all morning, and cleaned everything up, finishing by 3 PM the same day. I am especially impressed with the thoroughness of the stump grinding. Bob and his team are professional, hard-working, knowledgable and experienced, and offer competitive rates. We now have our "go-to" tree service for future needs and would happily recommend his company's services to others.

A great arborist/part-time acrobat! When we were given the estimate for the work Mr. Lubber walked around the yard and explained to us the trees that we should keep because of their good health and maintaining property value. They showed up early and stayed late. Piedmont did a wonderful job, plus we are better educated about our trees and their health.

I contacted Bob through Angie's List for my mother-in-law. She needed to have two Bradford trees cut down and hauled away. She also needed to have some trees cut from the roof of her home. Bob was very professional and contacted her immediately. He came out to her home, quoted the job and completed the job in a very timely manner. She had nothing but wonderful things to say about this company! She felt the price was right and the work they did was outstanding! She will definitely use them again and refer them to friends and family as well. Great job!

Bob is a thorough professional with very high set of standards, and in-depth knowledge on all aspects of trees. His crew started work of having to cut down a dozen of pine trees, mulched them up and cleaned up the area and after it was all said and done, left no trace that they were even there. Bob is a very courteous, friendly and a personable businessman who gets the job done in a timely manner and is a real pleasure to work with. I am really glad I chose bob over other providers.

This 30 year old tree was long overdue for a trim. Bob was professional, prompt, and his crew did a great job. I have scheduled an appointment for Bob to apply fertilization.

My plan was to have a 45-foot oak tree removed in order to brighten one side of our yard, and I called three tree services on Angie's List. The first company sent an estimator who stayed less than five minutes, gave me a price on a sheet of paper and left. The second company also sent an estimator who stayed a little longer, recommending that I also consider crown pruning instead of removing the tree, which I appreciated; he provided a written estimate for crown pruning three other large oaks on our property as well. The owner of the third service that I called, Mr. Lubbers, who is an ISA certified arborist, encouraged me not to remove the tree but rather to crown prune it. Like the second estimator, he also recommended crown pruning the three other oaks on our property. He then took time to evaluate and discuss with me all the trees in the yard. He gave a competitve price for crown pruning the oaks, but then included selective pruning for two maples in the backyard. Mr. Lubbers and two of his crew arrived early on the scheduled day and spent the entire day pruning, chipping branches and thoroughly cleaning the yard of all tree debris. My wife and I are very pleased with the results, and I would recommend that anyone needing tree service include this company in their search. They do excellent work.

Called for a quote and they came out the next day and since they were working in the area they went ahead cut down the tree and removed the debris, after we agreed on the price of course.

Bob and his team are consummate professionals. Highly responsive, easy to understand--real pros. His team showed up on time, removed the tree, and simply did everything as promised. I would (and will) recommend him to anyone--friends, family...anyone.

They spent 2 days removing dead limbs, trimming back branches that were directly over the house, removing branches that were keeping other trees from growing properly. The result was beautiful. It was amazing how much it opened up the view yet the trees don't have any bare spots. It still looks totally natural. Now we have a lot less debris coming down on the lawn/deck and I have a huge pile of mulch to put around the bushes.

Bob is a stand-up kind of guy. He gave me a fair quote. Job morphed from beginning to end as we ended up having to tear out the huge hedge, but Bob came to the table with a fair deal. I also hooked him up with 2 neighbors for additional tree removal. Impressed with Bob and his small crew. It took longer than expected but worth it.

Bob Lubbers is great! It's obvious he loves trees and loves his work. He came out to do the estimate and followed up regularly to answer questions. Once hired, he scheduled the work as soon as possible. On the scheduled day, the crew arrived first thing in the morning and worked conscientiously unitl the job was done. I asked a few questions while they worked, and they were very patient in answering. I would not hesitate to recommend Piedmont Tree Experts to my friends and neighbors. I'm so happy to have found a tree service that I can use again!

I think they did a great job. They had quite a lot of things to do and the price was very fair. They were very safety conscious which was good because a couple of the trees were quite tall and one of the ones they had to take down was in really bad shape so it was dangerous. They cleaned up beautifully. They munched up everything. It worked out well. We negotiated the price, and we were both satisfied.

In late July, we contacted Piedmont Tree Experts for a consultation regarding trees in our yard. Our call was returned promptly and an appointment scheduled. Mr. Lubbers was very pleasant, professional, and knowledgable. He gave my husband information regarding some things that he could do with shrubs and landscaping in response to questions and he made recommendations regarding removing some trees. At the end of the consultation, when we prepared to give him a check, he said "You didn't tell me that you were senior citizens and I'm not charging you for the information that I provided today." While we requested and received an estimate for removing the trees, we did not at that time make a commitment to have the work done. In the middle of September, we called to arrange for the removal of three trees. When we called, Mr. Lubbers was out of town, but he promptly returned our call. He said that he would call us back as soon as he returned to Charlotte and arrange a time to do the work--which he did. He and his assistant arrived promptly at the scheduled time and set to work. They worked carefully to remove the trees and clean up all debris. At the end, he reduced the charge by $50 because he said that it hadn't taken as long as he expected. We could not be more pleased with the work done and the overall experience. We will definitely call him again when needed and would recommend him to others.

Piedmont came out and gave us an estimate which was very resonable. We set up a date to have the tree removed. They were professional and on-time. They cut down and removed the tree and ground down the stump. They cleaned up everything. Other than the tree missing, you would not have known they were out there. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Although I gave them permission to drive on my yard, I didn't realize they would be bringing 4 heavy trucks and drive them on and off mulitpule times tearing up several areas of the lawn. Again, perhaps my mistake for not asking enough specific questions. The large tree came down fine and the remaining stop was cut very close to the ground as promised. All the wood was hauled away and the cleanup of the yard was fine. As for the pruning of the dead limbs on the other trees, several limbs were missed. To be fair, I didn't notice this until after he had left. We did negotiate the final price but reflecting back, I think it should have got a competitive bid. My mistake.

Proactivley came to see concerning a dead tree in my back yard. Gave me a price to cut it down. I added an addtional tree and priced it as well. Came on time. Cut the tree's and stacked the wood. Also created a single large woodchip pile. Very statisfied and would call them back for any tree issues.

All work was done promptly and with great care to not injury the existing home. They cleaned up and left everything in good shape. We felt the price was very fair considering all the work involved. The big trees had to be climbed due to their location and was a time consuming process. Bob is a very knowlegeable arborist and cares about the preservation of trees.

I did not speak to them. It was my husband who spoke to them and he enjoyed talking to them. He said that they were not pushy. The guy knew what he was talking about.

Their price was good, they are reliable, and they are flexible. I?ve used them in the past and other companies that I?ve found didn?t match Piedmont Tree Experts? price.
