Salesman was nice, but was a "salesman" who was more interested in closing the sale than in helping us understand details. He pressed us to sign while he was still there. I was very unhappy that he did not leave us with a diagram or list of the actual equipment to be used (although he left a blank sheet designed for that purpose), and only scribbled the price on a CPI envelope rather than filling out details on the form. System installation went very smoothly, and the installer was competent and a nice guy. I was quite disappointed he slapped an unsightly wireless switch on our nice front door, rather than going to the trouble of running a wire to it. Also, we had to sweep when he left;he vacuumed, but not very well. System is now running fine, and I've found CPI very helpful and responsive the couple of times I've had to call them. Salesman was hard to get in touch with when we needed information before we made our decision.

CPI gave us an appointment to have a representative come to our home to repair the alarm. It was a pleasant surprise when they called on Monday to say they had a cancellation and could come right away, which was the first business day after discovering the problem. It took the technician just a few minutes to find and correct the problem, thus restoring all of the alarm features. We were not charged anything. Overall, this was a great experience. First in the fact that CPI does an annual safety check and secondly that they repaired our problem at no charge. It certainly helps give us peace of mind.

I called CPI in desperation after my current security company blew me off after I was the victim of a home invasion. I wanted to upgrade my system, and they couldn't be bothered to help me any sooner than a 2 week appointment. CPI sent a sales rep. the next day, and I had a new (better) system in 2 days. So far, they have been very responsive and courteous.

CPI OVERPRICED WAY TOO MUCH FOR THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDED. THEY ALSO HAD A GREAT LACK IN THE KNOWLEDGE FIELD OF WHAT THEY WERE DOING. I REALLY DID NOT APPRECIATE THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SERVICES.

THIS HAS BEEN A GREAT SYSTEM, IT HAS MADE THE WHOLE FAMILY FEEL SECURE. THEY TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN HOW THE SYSTEM WORKED WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED. WE HAVE ACCIDENTALLY SET THE ALARM OFF AND THEY CALLED US WITHIN SECONDS. WE ARE VERY PLEASED.

We interviewed three companies and CPI seemed to offer the best service and a fuss-free install. The company's representative, Vince, was professional and knowledgeable and gave us good advice about what equipment was needed (and what was a waste of money). Based on our limited contact so far, the people at the monitoring center also seem well-trained, professional and very responsive. Overall, a great experience.

Everyone was pleasant and nice to deal with. Unfortunately,the original installation was done wrong. It took several tries to fix it. The phone people are nice enough but when you complain, they are obviously responding with lines from a prewritten script. Poor communications within departments. Different departments will respond wihout knowing what I have been told by other departments.

I, Mrs. X, initiated phone call and made an appointment to meet with a representative. The day before the appointment. Alvin left a message at my home for Mr. X, confirming the appointment. Mr. X had nothing to do with the transaction and I found this very sexist. I refuse to do business with these type of people.

I AM HAPPY WITH THE SYSTEM, BUT THE PERSON WHO INSTALLED IT DID NOT SEEM TO BE THAT GREAT. IT TOOK OVER 4 HRS TO CHANGE FROM A PRE-EXISTING SYSTEM, WHICH SEEMS EXCESSIVE. ADDITIONALLY, HE SHOULD HAVE SET UP THE ECELL-PHONE BACKUP BEFORE WORKING, SINCE IT TOOK OVER 3 HRS TO ACTIVATE-- HE LEFT TO GO TO ANOTHER JOB AND CAME BACK AROUND 6PM. HE TOOK MY OLD SIGN AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 3 WEEKS FOR NEW YARD SIGNS!

VERY PLEASANT REP FROM CPI CALLED TO SET UP AN APPT. TO SHOW THEIR SECURITY SYSTEM. I AGREED, AND SET APPT FOR FEW DAYS OUT. NEXT DAY, I FOUND A BETTER DEAL, SO I CALLED CPI TO CANCEL. THAT'S WHEN THINGS GOT UGLY. WHEN I CALLED, THE NEXT REP SAID I NEED TO SPEAK W/ANOTHER PERSON. EVENTUALLY, THE OTHER PERSON CAME ON, BASICALLY BERATING ME FOR THE CANCELLATION. NEXT DAY, THEY CALLED BACK TO "CONFIRM" THE APPT. I SAID IT HAD BEEN CANCELLED ALREADY, AND THAT REP DEMANDED I SET ANOTHER APPT. I RECOMMEND YOU ASK TO BE TAKEN OFF THE CALL LIST SO YOU DON'T GET REPEATED CALLS.

THERE IS AN ALARM SYSTEM ALREADY INSTALLED IN OUR HOME. WE DECIDED TO ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM. A CONSULTANT CAME OUT IN THE EVENING AND GOT ALL THE PAPERWORK DONE. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND NOT PUSHY. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE SENSORS. A TECHNICIAN CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND GOT THE SYSTEM RUNNING. WE DID NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING ADDITIONAL. THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. WE PLAN TO RENEW OUR CONTRACT NEXT YEAR.

HAVE A MULTI-YEAR SIGNED CONTRACT WITH CPI FOR MONITORING. THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WHEN WE HAVE SET THE ALARM OFF ACCIDENTALLY IN THE PAST, THE CPI OPERATORS INQUIRE OVER THE INTERCOM IN LESS THAN A MINUTE TO CONFIRM EVERYTHING IS OK. I THINK CPI IS CLEARLY THE BEST SECURITY COMPANY OPERATING IN CHARLOTTE.

I WAS A ADT CUSTOMER FOR 9 YEARS BEFORE MOVING. I SWITCHED TO CPI BECAUSE THEY WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE LESS EXPENSIVE UPDATE OF MY SECURITY EQUIPMENT AND I LIKED THE INTERCOM SYSTEM AND THE LOCAL MONITORING. MONTHLY FEE IS $37, WHICH IS A LITTLE MORE THAN I WAS PAYING. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH INSTALL AND MONITORING.

THE INITIAL SALES VISIT SEEMED A BIT LONG SINCE WE ALREADY KNEW WE WERE GOING TO BUY A SECURITY SYSTEM AND EVERYONE WE HAD TALKED TO WHO HAD INVESTIGATED COMPANIES RECOMMENDED CPI. THE GENTLEMAN WHO CAME STILL HAD TO WALK THROUGH THE WHOLE SALES PITCH AND DEMO. HE WAS A LITTLE TOO INFORMAL FOR MY TASTE, THOUGH MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER DIDN'T SEEM TO MIND. WE WERE ABLE TO GET AN INSTALLATION APPOINTMENT WITHIN A WEEK, THOUGH NOT DURING THE EVENING AS WE HAD HOPED. THE INSTALLATION WENT SMOOTHLY AND THE INSTALLATION TECH WAS POLITE, AND DID A RELATIVELY GOOD JOB CLEANING UP (HE LEFT SOME SCRAP WIRE NEAR THE FRONT DOOR). WE INSTALLED THE SYSTEM AFTER A BREAK-IN AND HAVE BEEN USING THE SERVICE FOR OVER A MONTH AND FEEL VERY SAFE.

THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE POWER SUPPLY NEEDED TO BE UPGRADED WHEN THE MEDICAL ALERT PENDANT WAS INSTALLED, BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE WITH HIM AND THE SYSTEM APPEARED TO BE WORKING FINE. HE SAID THERE WOULD NOT BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO UPGRADE THE POWER SUPPLY IF NEEDED AND TO CALL BACK IF WE HAD ANY PROBLEMS. THE UNDERSIZE POWER SUPPLY ENDED UP CAUSING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE ALARM THAT I HAVE SPENT MANY HOURS TRYING TO RESOLVE. CPI WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME. THEY FORCED ME TO EITHER PAY $795.00 OR TO EXTEND MY CONTRACT BY 3 YEARS AND PAY $8.00 MORE A MONTH TO FIX THE PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE UNDERSIZED POWER SUPPLY. IN ADDITION, PARTS OF THE SYSTEM DID NOT FUNCTION AFTER THEY PERFORMED SERVICE AND ASSURED ME IT WAS WORKING ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. AFTER BEING A HAPPY AND LOYAL CUSTOMER OF CPI FOR OVER 5 YEARS, I NO LONGER HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE IN THEM AND WILL NO LONGER RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

THE HOLES WERE NOT REPAIRED. SALES REP ALSO STATED THAT AFTER THREE YEARS I OWN THE ALARM AND COULD TERMINATE THE MONITORING WITH NO PENALTY. I PRICED AND COMPARED NEW ALARM MONITORING COMPANIES WITH CELLULAR BACK UP OPTIONS AND CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY AFTER FULFILLING MY THREE-YEAR COMMITMENT. NOW CPI WANTS TO CHARGE ME $495 FOR THE ACTUAL ALARM CIRCUIT BOARD. THIS IS ACTUALLY A BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC THAT THE SALES REPS USE DURING THE INITIAL SALES MEETING. WHEN YOU CALL TO CANCEL SERVICE THEY PLAY ON YOUR EMOTION ON NOT HAVING AN ALARM ''BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING IT BACK OR CHARGING YOU $495". I WOULD SUGGEST USING A MORE REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT ALSO RESPECTS THE LAW ON BAIT AND SWITCH. IN THE LONG RUN YOU WILL PAY LESS, WITH BETTER SERVICE, USING SOMEONE ELSE.
