I've been bringing my dogs to Dr. Schacht for the past year. Over the course of about 6 months, he successfully treated my Giant Schnauzer's allergies (skin and diet) using homeopathic remedies. This dog suffered from skin problems for 8 years without receiving any relief from other treatments. Over the years, his skin had worsened so it was uncomfortable for him year-round and he became allergic to dairy, beef, pork and chicken. Through this homeopathic treatment, his skin was completely healed and I was able to start feeding him the foods that he was allergic to previously. Overall, he was a very healthy dog on a raw diet, minimal vaccinations, and lots of daily exercise and love, but struggling due to his genetics and prior medical history.
In addition, I greatly appreciated the email and phone support when this dog suffered from Lyme's disease. I felt that I had a partner working closely with me to determine the best way to support my dog during this extremely difficult time.
Recently, Dr. Schacht also performed a titer test and vaccination for my Rat Terrier.

Our visit went well. We were not looking for a cure, but wanted to see if a holistic approach might help our dog to be comfortable longer. She is still with us and comfortable, but her cancer advances as we knew it would. Quality of life is our priority and this clinic is helping us meet our goal.

Our 10 month old puppy became very suddenly ill the last weekend in April. She had a fever and low blood platelets. We took her to a and quot;specialistand quot; and after almost two weeks of treatment and $3000 she was worse than when we started. They had her on multiple medicines (strong antibiotics and prednisone) that were making her current condition worse and causing additional problems. They were convinced she had a tick born illness, even after they ran three full blown blood panels that came back negative, and every thing else pointed to an auto-immune issue (shape of blood cells). The antibiotics and prednisone had torn up her gut so much that she would not eat. She became anemic and was bleeding into her gut. We were certain she was going to die over the weekend if we did not do something different. Dr. Schacht was recommended by a friend. He saved our dogs life. He had us take her off the medicine and had us give our dog a couple of homeopathic remedies. I had to nurse her through the first 48 hours with a liquid diet fed by hand but after that she started eating again. She was completely healed in a month. He is the best vet I have ever used in my 25 years of experience. Since then he has started treating my parent's elderly dog for skin problems that they have struggled with for five years and the dog is healing for the first time ever since this problem started despite constant vet care.
