Carolina Blind Crafters: Blinds, Shades, Shutters

Service was excellent...from the designer who helped me pick out exactly the right color to the installation. I was particularly impressed when the initial installation attempt revealed that my window was on a slight slant...1/2 lower on one side. I had never noticed this due to the large size of the window...but putting up a solar shade level with the window, made the fault quite obvious. The installer informed me that he would have to order a different mechanism to level the shade and if he could not make the shade level and keep the flaw in the window hidden, there would be no charge. He successful installed a week later and the window and the shade look perfect. I can only imagine if I had used a less talented installer and company. These people are perfectionists, as am I. I highly recommend this company.

From the meeting for an estimate, all the way through the installation, Carolina Blind Crafters was professional and a quality company. We are very pleased with the look of the blinds and the roller shade for the front door is phenomenal! I have a front door with full glass panels down the entire length, that I choose for the light it provides. I wanted the option of a shade to pull down partially or fully when I felt the need for more privacy. This turned out so well, because it is not visible at all from the outside when the shade is up. The warranty and assurance that they will come out if any need arises is comforting. I will tell others who are preparing to move to our 55+ community about Carolina Blind Crafters and will recommend them highly.

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Michelle explained all of my options and promptly returned my calls. Ed installed everything and did a great job being very careful to be sure everything went up correctly.

This may be one of the easiest Angie's List reviews I have ever written.  I am absolutely pleased with the service I received from Carolina Blind Crafters.  My normal routine is that if I am going to have work completed I take 4 of the highest rated Angie's List companies in a particular category and have each give me an estimate and I make my decision based on price and interaction during the meeting.  Carolina Blind Crafters were my first and last meeting.  After meeting with them, I was so impressed that I cancelled my estimates with the other 3 companies.  The sales rep (I think Michelle???) was very knowledgeable and friendly.  We explained to her our needs and she suggested products that would work well for us.  Once we came to a decision, Ben then came to measure (at like 6:30 one evening and then had an hour trip back home) and seemed very happy to be there.  The blinds were then ordered and came in as expected and the install went very smoothly.  Ben demonstrated how to work the blinds and was very thankful for our business.  If I have to recommend a blind company or if I find any reason to upgrade blinds in this house or my next, I will absolutely use Carolina Blind crafters again, without hesitation. 

Ben, the owner, Ed the installer and Michelle were outstanding in the service. Phone calls were returned promptly, the installation was fantastic, and follow-up was appreciated.  I will recommend them to all of my neighbors.

I am very pleased with the installation of the plantations shutters I ordered, from start to finish.  The final result was excellent.  Michelle arrived for the initial meeting on time;  she answered all my questions, offered suggestions, measured all windows, and quoted me a price.  Once agreed, the installer came to take exact window measurements and the shutters were ordered on about 12/15/15 and installed on 1/15/16.  Ben and his assistant arrived right on time with the shutters. It was about to rain so they very quickly unloaded all and set up an assembly area on my back porch. Not only am I impressed with how efficiently these two men worked together, but with how carefully they hung the shutters so they operated smoothly.  Both Ben and his assistant couldn't have been nicer and I felt comfortable having them in my house.  An added bonus --the shutters were in by mid-afternoon!

The whole experience with Carolina Blind Crafters was terrific!  When I called the office, Sarah answered the phone and was so very friendly and helpful.  She immediately asked me what I wanted and how could they help - she did not put me on hold or add me to some huge list to call back!)  When I told her I wanted cafe blinds like were in my house growing up she knew exactly the kind of blinds I was looking for because they were in her grandmother's house.  She immediately checked to see if any of their vendors still made them and found one vendor who did.  Soon after, Michelle called and we set up and appointment.  Before long Michelle came out to measure and help me decide on color.  She too was very personable and professional.  She narrowed it down to three choices in color based on the colors in our den and I told her to pick because I knew she knew the product and the desired affect we wanted.  A few days later the owner, Ben, came out and measured in more detail to fit the vendor's needs.  We were told we would get the blinds in about seven weeks and sure enough about that time Ben called to set up the appointment for installing our blinds.  It was the week before Christmas and Fedex changed the date a little bit.  The following Tuesday our blinds came!  Ben walked in and I knew we were in for genuine service.  He was very systematic in setting up everything for the installation.  I left for a few hours and when I came home I was thrilled with the blinds.  They were just what I wanted and they are so much like the ones that had been in my house growing up and with all the new enhancements of today's market.  My order was done just exactly like I wanted.  The color was an exact match. The blinds were installed inside the windows.  They fold out flat so when open I have the exact same view out the window as I had before the blinds were installed - we had no window covers on those windows - so the view is still wide open!
The whole experience with Carolina Blind Crafters was just the way buying ought to be.  Everyone was professional and very relaxed and knowledgable.  They sold us what we wanted.  They never tried to get us to buy anything except what we wanted originally.  They were so respectful of our wishes and our time.  We were kept informed of the progress of our order.  You just know when the owner walks in to do the installation that you have found the right company!  
I would love to have more window and door treatments done for us by Carolina Blind Crafters!

Michelle was very helpful and professional. We were looking for faux wood blinds and she really listened to us and pinpointed our style and was able to narrow down our choices. Once we selected our blinds we waited about two weeks for the installation. The installer showed up on time and was friendly, clean, and efficient. I've had zero problems and we will be using Michelle again to finish our home.

A terrific experience from the first phone call to the last bit of installation.  They listened to what I wanted and needed, and helped me find the right type of the blind for my various windows. They seemed more interested in what would fit my needs than in selling me the most expensive product.  In the end, I did opt for some of their more expensive products for my living room and kitchen, but it was worth every penny.  The blinds are beautiful, and do the job exactly as explained and intended.
One thing that surprised me:  I thought I'd be stuck with ugly vertical blinds for a sliding glass door, but they had a vertical silhouette shade that looks lovely and provides the needed coverage for the door.  This kind of shade can be fully open, closed with what amounts to a sheer, or closed entirely with slats.  It's a very clever product.
Everyone I dealt with was helpful and professional, sometimes steering me away from more expensive options based on factors I hadn't considered.  And, the blinds were ready in two weeks (they'd quoted four weeks, which is more typical).  There was a problem with the fit on one blind, but they did a new one and had it in within a week.  My view is that the best measure of a business is how they handle things when something goes wrong, and they handled that little blip quite well.
I highly recommend this company.

After having had a poor experience at a big-box store, I requested estimate from Carolina Blind Crafters. After learning of our saga for window treatments, the owner himself came to our house for initial evaluation and estimate. He came prepared with many samples and colors and he helped us decide on the best type of window treatments for our style and room setups. He was friendly and straight-forward. He promptly measured and we ordered shutter blinds. Within the estimated time period, they arrived and were installed perfectly in 1 day. I could not have asked for a more pleasant or smooth experience.

The window treatments look great and the installation was superb. Ben (the lead installer) was fantastic. He explained everything, hauled away the old shades and was very neat and polite. Ben installed the roman shades and was then assisted by another installer (Ed) to hang the remaining shades. 
I gave CBC a B on price only because I didn't get any other quotes, I'm a man and compared to some work I had done over 15 years ago, the prices had gone up quite a bit. Probably not unexpected. 
Note: I wanted the same type of pleated shade that I had for my garage windows. Although not one of their type of products,
CBC found me a comparable product to have installed.
I am very happy with my shades and with the Carolina Blind Crafters people including Michelle (salesperson/designer) who
helped me with the window treatment selections. I am confident that they stand behind their products. I would definitely use them again.

I could not have had a better experience.  The young man who installed the shades was one of the nicest and professional contractors I have ever had.  He was courteous and paid extreme attention to detail.  I would definitely recommend them to a friend or neighbor.

This was an A+ experience from beginning to end. After having a large hedge removed from the side of my screened porch, I needed a large solar shade installed for privacy. After receiving an outrageous estimate from one company, I was about to give up on the whole idea. I then decided to try Carolina Blind Crafters.  Michele, the company sales rep, was very professional throughout. She contacted me within a very short period of time and, within a half hour of coming out to the house, the shade was ordered. The price was a fraction of what I had previously been quoted. 3 weeks later it was installed by Ben, the owner, and Ed and looks beautiful.
This company was a pleasure to deal with and I would have no hesitation about using them again should the need arise.

The process from beginning to end was smooth and easy.  Michelle came out and explained everything from the shutter options to colors to the install process.  She provided a quote right at my kitchen table after about 15-20 minutes.  We decided that night to move forward and Jason came to measure within two days and he also explained the install process again.  The following week, we decided to add two more shutters to the order, and again they came to measure within two days.

Jason and Ed came and did the entire install exactly four weeks later, as promised.  They did have to push the install back one day due to an ice storm early in the week that set their schedule back but the install took less time than they had projected and the guys were extremely thorough and courteous, checking all the windows and even touching up the paint on all shutters after the install.  The shutters look beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the quality and the service.  Thank you again!!

Michelle came to my home several times in order to make sure the shutters would match the existing white trim exactly! She came on sunny and cloudy days to catch the light coming through the windows in order to make the match.  Ben came to the home on time and meticulously measured each window for the new shutters/blinds and stated they would take approx 6 wks.  I was thrilled when I was called earlier that they arrived and were ready for installation.  Within a week of that call all my shutters/blinds were being installed.  The gentleman showed up a little late, but did a fabulous job with the install, cleaned up before he left, showed me how to make any adjustments, and made sure I was happy with everything.  I would not hesitate to recommend this company!!!

The process was great from start to end.  I called CBC to outfit our newly constructed home with plantation shutters.  The salesperson came to the house and was informative but not assertive.  We chose wood shutters for all rooms but the small bathroom windows.  The wait time from order to delivery was very reasonable - especially given it was over the holidays.  
The shutters were installed yesterday and they look great.  The installers were fabulous - very efficient and respectful of our home.  We really have only good things to report about CBC - both the product and service.

It was amazing!  We moved into our brand new home in October, and have had the experience of dealing with several types of service providers.  Some failed miserably, some were good, and a couple were standouts - including Carolina Blind Crafters!  The sales process (Faye) measuring and installing (Ed) were all handled promptly and professionally, and the finished product is wonderful!  They did what they said they would do, how they said they would do it, when they said they would do it.  All done respectfully and professionally.  This following an unfortunate experience with another prospective provider that we had to release for non-performance.  I would hire them in a heartbeat for any future window-treatment needs.

We recently purchased a new house in Huntersville. Faye Porter with Carolina Blind Crafters was instrumental in helping us pick out the right blinds as well as manage our expectations around product quality. Someone then came to custom measure all our windows and brought temporary shades for us to use while our blinds were ordered. Ultimately, when it came time for installation, Ben, the owner, led the team that installed everything, and they were great. The vast majority of our house was outfitted with plantation shutters and the installation was superb; not to mention the price was great! Also, we initially expected a 2.5 day installation period, however they exceeded expectations and brought along an extra installer so it only took one day! Since the install, we have found no issues, including no nicks or scraps. Our only minor complaint would be that our blinds took 7 weeks to come in from the time of measuring to the time of install. We were told this was because they were running a special discount and the manufacturer was running behind in production due to heavy volume. Nonetheless, based on their competitive pricing and superior customer service, we would highly recommend Carolina Blind Crafters anytime!

I had originally considered purchasing and installing blinds myself but I am so happy that I didn't.  Everyone at Carolina Blind Crafters was quick, efficient and professional.  They installed solar blinds though out our downstairs (14 windows) and honeycomb blackout shades throughout the upstairs (11 windows.)  Michelle came out for the initial consultation.  She was super friendly, had lots of great samples to pick from and gave us come great advice.  She also was able to price different options (motorization) which we didn't ultimately go with but it was helpful to see the prices.   The blinds arrived and were installed within 3 weeks of that initial consultation.  They worked hard to work around our schedule and get them in before we moved into our new home. Ed came out for the measuring and he also installed the blinds.  He was prompt and got them all in in record time.  They look beautiful and I couldn't be happier.    The price was also very reasonable for a whole house of blinds.
