AB drywall has been servicing Charlotte & the surrounding areas since 1993 and have worked in this trade since 1977. We specialize in all phases of drywall installation and repairs. We are prompt, professional, experienced, extremely neat and most of all, we do not sand ! That is right, NO DUST ! As the old timers said, " If you have to sand, you either put on to much or put it on all wrong ". It takes a few extra steps, but the finished product is flat, slick and paint ready. David came highly recommended from our electrician (who we also really liked), and the recommendation was spot on. He was a joy to have in our home each day, showed up when he said he would, let me know when he was on his way, etc. and the work he performed was excellent. It was not an easy task in our basement, but he handled it like a professional and did a great job. He also happily offered to come back to fix any spots that might be harder to tell on bare sheetrock but that were noticeable through the paint, which I found reassuring. Anyone who has ever tried to do sheetrock work on their own knows what a physically demanding and difficult job it is, (and we have) so I truly appreciated David's hard work in our home. I would recommend him 100%.

I'm not one to write a review online, but I believe that the service that I received from AB Drywall warrants a review. I hired David to patch some holes left by my tenant, in addition to fixing baseboards, the front door threshold, and a few other things. I can't express in words the level of satisfaction that I have with the work that was completed. The walls are perfectly smooth and ready for my painter. No matter what I asked of David as he worked (additional items that I hadn't originally seen), he made me feel at ease that it would all be taken care of...which it was. Excellent. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the results. Before the project began David let me know he would not be sanding. He never used one piece of sand paper and my walls are now smooth as silk. Considering we started with a texture wall I still can't believe how perfectly smooth the walls are now. I know how much of mess sanding joint compound can be, so it was a relief not have the dust in my house to clean up. David knows what he is doing, your in good hands.

I just have to tell everyone on Angie's List what a wonderful experience my husband & I had with AB Drywall .David Scire is the owner of AB DRYWALL & he does all his own work. I can't say enough good things about him . We contracted with David to fix all the walls & ceilings in our home that a previous contractor had not done improperly .Right from the start David arrived promptly to our home & was very aware of what we needed to have done .Quoted us a very fair price & told us when he would be starting.The day he started he showed up promptly and got to work He also came back several times to reinspect his work making sure everything had been done & he hadn't missed anything The project involved mudding the walls & repairing all other defects to ceilings and walls ,then he primed everything The work that was done was wonderful He takes great pride in his work, doesn't cut corners and is a perfectionist There was nothing he missed and when he was done he left the home in pristine condition. I have to say he makes you fell like family -calls you to tell you everything he's doing and is a straight talker always follows thru with what he says.I can't say enough good things about him and the work he performs only that I have worked with many contractors in my lifetime and he is one of the best.! It went Great!! From the first phone call to the end of the job, Mr. Scire was very informative, professional and personable.!! He gave me several options regarding the work that needed to be done. He even gave me instructions in case I wanted to save money and do it myself. However, I needed a professional job done and he delivered!! My way wouldn't have measured up to his by a long shot. Phenomenal. David and Joe are extremely hardworking and diligent. Attention to detail is extraordinary. True masters of their craft. Blended 1936 plaster with new mud --- can't tell where one begins and the other ends. Extraordinary. Old school. They don't rely on sanding to correct mudding blemishes --- the get it right the first time, every time... and it's perfect. Will absolutely hire again... they're the best.

It went great! I contacted David explaining the work I needed him to do. He had me take pictures of the areas needing repair which I then emailed to him. He was able to give me a quote over the phone. David arrived at my house at the scheduled time. He is a very hard worker and extremely skilled at what he does. The repairs were excellent, we are very pleased. I highly recommend David for drywall repairs. He is professional and explains the process very well. I wouldn't hesitate using him again.

I own a townhome and the noise from the neighbors can get very loud at times. I was looking for a solution to help block the noise. I contacted David about my request and he talked me through my options. He did his research and provided me with a quote for the work within 24 hours. He was prompt to respond and answered all of my questions. He went out of his way to find the special sheet rock as it is not a common product. Once found we set up a day to do the work. All work was completed in 1 day. They laid out plastic and drop clothes to protect the floor and cleaned up all the mess before leaving.

David from ABDrywall came promptly (He was actually pretty booked and made the time to come to our house on Saturday, even though he doesn't usually work on Saturday, to accommodate my work schedule.). He was professional, personable and incredibly skilled at his trade. He told us exactly what to expect, and he did the job quickly and perfectly. No dust, no mess, and he cleaned everything up behind him. His drywall skill is a lost art, and we will definitely use him in the future for any drywall work we need. They did a wonderful job and had everything done in one day. I was so impressed; I asked if they can come back to redo my second bathroom textured ceiling. It was damaged from head of shower. Water went straight up to ceiling and the damaged was done.

Work area was 20 feet above main floor level requiring scaffolding and multiple repositionings due to an obstructing staircase. Finished entire job in one day leaaving a ready-to-paint finish. Great professional workmanship which is very difficult to find today.

Everything started off on the right foot. We got to know David and Joe and about their families... All was well until they couldn't keep their original promise to have the bathroom done before my 80 year old grandfather was coming to stay who can not go upstairs to use the bathroom. They never did complete the bathroom. I had to set the toilet and sink myself even though they said they would swing by before starting a new job the next day. Never came back. Since that was my only issue at that point with their work I let it slide. I chose not to write a negative or positive review at that time. Despite being frustrated that they didn't complete that (even though we already paid them in full which included the cost of setting the toilet and sink) everything else went pretty smoothly. The day after we ended up having a leak under the sink where they had connected the pipes. Joe did swing by and fix that issue. Fast forward a few months... We finally got around to painting the ceilings and noticed the pantry room ceiling was cracking and sagging. We sent a text to David asking if he would come look at it (because his last words before leaving the job were "I'm not like the other guys who take off. I've lived here a long time. If you need anything or have problems let me know. We want good reviews to flush those bad guys out.") His reply to my text was (exact text): Hello Natosha yes I will come by and look at that I will not be able to come for at least a week or two if I get a break I will come by or at least I will call you and try to come by but yes I will come by and look at that. Not really sure what's happening there because I used mesh tape on the joints and mesh tape doesn't pull away from the ceiling but either way will make sure that it's taken care of. A few weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. I sent another text and was promised again he would come by. This was in May. It is now July and I've had no contact or an attempt to fix the ceiling. Since David was obviously not making the issue any sort of priority we took it upon ourselves to investigate why it was cracking etc. Turns out there was another leak, this time in the ceiling where they moved the plumbing, and now we have to have the plumbing and ceiling replaced again. Nice guys. They just didn't follow through.

"It is sad that we have to hash it out here, yet I have to defend what is ours.... Since day 1, we called before we showed up, every single day , we arrived early and left after the day was done, we showed up every day, we cleaned the site every day, we communicated with the owners constantly, we advised them on a TON of issues, we saved them from having to call multiple contractors. Owner says we did not finish before the grand parents arrived. Firstly they popped that on us half way through the project, not in the beginning. Secondly we were finished on Saturday, a DAY before the grand parents arrived. Before we left the property and we had completed all the work, we went through everything in detail, and the owners we happy signed off and paid us in full. Thank you. There was a drip under the sink and yes, Joe arrived as promised and made it right immediately ! Months go by and we were contacted by the owner about a tape joint on the sheet rock falling down. ( which does not happen normally ) There was NO mention about any leak what so ever. Yes we were very busy and I dropped the ball in getting back to [Member Name Removed] right away Hence the inflated no so good review. On the last day, the owner was suppose to set tile and grout. She did not. She only set the tile and then went ahead and said she would set the toilet. We instructed her what to do with the bolts. Joe as he always does asks, "Do you have any questions, are you happy with everything ?" They answered yes and we left paid and every one appeared happy. Lastly, when we worked on here drain line which was early on in the job, we had the husband [Member Name Removed], run all the water and flush over and again. We inspected all the pipes and surrounding areas saw that all was well with NO leaks and moved forward and closed the sheet rock. We were on the job EVERY DAY for about two weeks after that and there was NO problems. Yes they are a very nice family but we were just as nice, prompt, professional and clean. We didn't hide anything, we shared our experience, ideas and know how with them every step of the way. Anyone who knows us knows that is the truth. We know some folks will be unsatisfied yet they were awful nice while they paid us and went through all the projects top to bottom. Again, if I need criticism I will accept it and build on it becoming better than the rest. That is what sets us apart. We didn't take any money up front, we didn't scam them in any way we shared our all with this family and yet for them, this was not good enough. Our last attempt to contact the owner was on this day 7/30/2016 with no response. Our goal is to make sure folks are happy with what we do. For our future clients, call us,feel us out,see how we show up, listen to how all will be done and then you decide if we are the right choice. It will be our pleasure to help you out."

My dishwasher had flooded the kitchen and water came through the ceiling in the living room below. It could have been worse--the drywall didn't come down but it was soggy and starting to discolor. I called David, and found that he answers the phone himself. He listened to the problem, and told me he can take care of it. Great! He came out that day and looked at it, and we set a date for repairs the next Saturday. David arrived promptly at the time arranged and got to work. First he assessed the condition of the drywall and added many new screws to hold it up. Then he removed old taping and replaced it, and filled all the gaps and nail indentations. A huge positive factor is that David does not need to sand his work. If you have ever experienced drywall sanding, you know how the dust gets into everything and you will be cleaning it up for months to come. David applied three layers of patching compound, the last one so think that it smooths into the surface perfectly. When he finished, I couldn't see any unevenness. Amazing! We have scheduled a return visit for David to paint the ceiling with Kilz (to prevent stains working through paint), and then ceiling paint. David explained everything he was doing and reasons for it, and he takes obvious pride in doing superb work, as he should. I have seen a lot of drywall work, and this is better than any of it. He's a craftsman.

After popcorn ceiling was removed previous repair work and drywall seams were obvious. David was able to smooth everything out. Can't tell where the patchwork was or where the seams are anymore.
