Kenneth P. Thomas, Ph. D., was educated in the public schools of his hometown, Charleston, South Carolina. He received his B.S. and Masters degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. He completed his doctoral studies in Audiology at the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his 20 years of practice in South Carolina, Dr. Thomas served on numerous boards, including The Board of Examiners for Audiologists. He was chairperson for 2 years. Along with a group of Audiologists, he assisted in founding the South Carolina Academy of Audiology that was the first state chapter of the American Academy of Audiology. In the area of Audiology, Dr. Thomas has special interest in the evaluation of patients with balance disorders and hearing aids. He is married to Katherine K. Thomas who is the Director of Community Relations and Economic Development for Progress Energy in North Carolina. He has 2 sons, T. Cooper Thomas of Charleston and William M. Thomas.
