Really pleased. James came to quote straight away. After the 811 checks before digging he came back with 2 employees and put the gate in. All completed within about a week.

James is professional, reliable, responsive, he is a perfectionist, and I found his price very reasonable. But more than all of those things, James is simply a pleasure to work with, a very personable guy and very good at problem solving.

James is extremely professional and his crew did an very good job installing a split rail fence around the back of my property. The fence was carefully placed inside the property line. They also installed four small gates in the fence, which look and function great. The fence looks fantastic. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The two fence builders were very focused, worked very, very hard and hardly took any breaks. They were extremely detailed and we couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, the neighbors are commenting on how great our fence looks. James, the owner of the company, designed the fence to be a step down fence and he used the strongest highest quality wire so that we could see through the fence, not cut off our view, but still make it so that our dogs can't get out!

Getting fencing for our property was a difficult decision. We have lived on this mountain for most of our married life, and the property we are on has been my family's since the Garden of Eden. We have always let our dogs run this mountain off leash, for there was no one around who was ever effected by it. When yearling bears began to wander on our property, however, our dogs went berserk. Their nightly woods runs stretched out further and longer, and my nine year old Brittany mix would return home with her tongue dragging the ground. Moreover, our neighbors (as the crow flies) began hunting close to our property lines, and we feared they might accidently shoot our pups. Thus, we decided to put up fence. We wanted a large space enclosed, but knew money would be a hindrance. We also desired something that would compliment our home, and not take away from the serenity our log cabin. Moreover, we feared our rugged property might prove difficult, as one estimator of a large, corporate building company seemed to believe it would be. James was responsive from the first phone call, and came to give us an estimate post haste. He provided creative ideas as to how we could accomplish what we wanted without breaking our financial backs. He suggested we place split rail with wire around the parts of the property that could be seen, and five foot "no-climb horse fence" in the back. This gave us the security where we needed it most, and the aesthetics where it counted. I just walked the finished fence line today, and I could not be happier! The wood rail fence is absolutely beautiful, and the back "horse fence" is some of the most rugged, heavy gauge wire I've ever seen. It looks very much like chain link, in my opinion. You cannot see this portion of the fence from anywhere. You have to deliberately look for it in the woods. I am thrilled. Even the dogs seem happier. I suppose they feel safer, for they don't have near the work to do! I know bears can still climb over the fence, but I'm hoping it will be enough of a deterrent to make them move on. Regardless, I can worry much less. Not only are my pups safer, but thanks to James, we were able to finish within budget and have a beautiful compliment to our mountain home! I would recommend James and British Standard to anyone needing fence work - large or small.

James did an incredible job building our fence. We were not at our home when he built it but trusted him to do an exceptional job as promised. His follow-up was outstanding and was more than willing to please us the customers.

It took four weeks before the work could be done, but that was due to all the rain. Once an installation date was established, James and his crew arrived as scheduled and completed the work in the same day.

They came out and they gave me an estimate, they were very, very high. He did seem knowledgeable. It was just a basic gate. He as good as far as coming out and doing all that stuff, he was just expensive.

James showed up in the time frame promised. The work was completed quickly and professionally. (even during the rain) Installation and cleanup were exactly as specified in the contract. I would call James first for my next fence project.

I'll start with when I met him when he gave me his estimate, he was very helpful in designing the fence I had in mind and did not try to sell me a more expensive fence. On the starting date he and his workers showed up on time and started right away, they worked hard and got the fence done on time. He showed an attention to detail which I really appreciated.

After our consultation, James and his employees arrived in a timely fashion and quickly went to work. My fence was done so quickly even with thunderstorms nearly every other day. I couldn't believe how fast it was done and the price was more than reasonable. If I every need another fencing project, British Standard will be the first and only place I will call.
