The appointment went well from start to finish, scheduling to payment after appointment. After moving to NC, I needed to find a vet for my two Papillon dogs, one 9 yrs, the other 2 years. I asked my neighbors who they use and was pleased that most recommended Seaside. I made the appointment and was pleased at how quickly I was able to bring the dogs in for a wellness check up to introduce them to a possible new vet service. I feel confident after this first session because they asked that my previous vet send records and are familiar with the special needs of this particular breed. I will recommend them to anyone who inquires.

We arrived at the appointed time - place spotless and cheerful with bright, smiling, knowledgeable staff. Who demurred at the tranny (and quot;we prefer not to sedateand quot;). I said and quot;Use your discretionand quot;. A few hours later he was ready to be picked up. THE most perfect Lion Cut EVER. Cat tranquil as a lamb. Am SO thrilled (and so is Catzanova ) to have found Doggone Health.

They ran a little late but not by much. The physicals were thorough and a sheet for each animal describing the results of his physical exam was provided. One cat is definitely overweight (obese!) and Bacchus, my Newfoundland, also needs to lose some pounds, just like his owner. The staff was friendly but professional, as usual, and demonstrated the high priority Seaside Animal Care places on customer service. The vet was also very professional and treated my and quot;kidsand quot; in a kind but thorough manner. Suggestions about how to correct or deal with any problems were provided. I did not feel as though the vet and the staff were rushed, though I know they are all on a tight schedule due to the large number of animals they treat each day. It's obvious that everyone at Seaside truly likes and enjoys animals. (Bacchus especially loves going to the vet. They spoil him rotten!)

A laptop computer is used to enter all data from a template for each animal. That not only speeds up the collection of data but also creates a historical computer file on each animal, thus making it easy to print or e-mail any information a and quot;pet parentand quot; may want. I can also view the records of my pets on-line by going to Seaside's website and I receive their newsletters on-line.

I have been taking my pets to Seaside from the time it opened in a small, old, decrepit building around 1993 or 1994. The clinic has since moved to a spacious new building that was designed by Dr. Ward, I think, to meet the medical and boarding needs of all his patients. It has grown from one vet, Ernest Ward, to a number of additional professionals. Dr. Ward is very selective about whom he hires so only the best and most qualified people are employees of Seaside Animal Care.

The clinic is up-to-date in its use of technology, including the equipment necessary to provide excellent and complete health care for its patients. More importantly, their veterinarians are up-to-date on the research and information concerning the medical care of the various animals they treat. They do not run unnecessary tests on animals to increase their profit margin but will definitely suggest additional tests and treatment if a medical condition warrants it. They are aware of the possible financial limitations customers may have and consider that variable when discussing treatments and options for a pet's health care.

My dad was a veterinarian so I tend to be very judgmental when it comes to the veterinarians that treat my and quot;babies.and quot; Seaside definitely meets my high expectations. They are a little and quot;priceyand quot; but the price is worth it. Obviously, I am very pleased with Seaside Animal Care and would strongly recommend them to anyone seeking outstanding, competent, caring veterinary services.

I have been taking my two kitties to Seaside for 3+ years and am very happy with their services. They are probably the most expensive around; but as they say 'you get what you pay for'. They are AAHA accredited. I would recommend them if you are looking for a local vet.
