Excellent job.

Russel at John McClung was great to work with.  He gave us an estimate and was right on with it, we were not surprised by any extra charges in the end, he didn't go over it by even a penny.  What a relief, we had heard and read of horror stories of surprise charges that people have encountered with roofing jobs.  We have a 1930s house so we didn't know what they would find once they started the tear off but they took care of everything and stayed on target with the estimate.
We were scheduled to start on a Thursday but they called and were able to start a day early, which was great.  The crew came in and went right to work and got the job done in a few days, exactly what we were told at the time of the estimate.
Re-roofing is a messy and they did a great clean up job, we have not found a single nail.  There were a few places on the house that had some black marks but they took care of that right away.
The office staff was very friendly and helpful the couple of times I needed to call.
Our house looks so super cute!  I highly recommend John Mc Clung and their crew.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them again but I sure hope I don't need a roofer for a very long time.   I'm glad they have a lifetime guarantee!

Our home inspection revealed a couple of places where there seemed to be water and decay issues with the roof. Our real estate agent recommended John McClung and they were our first call after closing. We dealt with Herbie and he was prompt and easy to work with. He was very thorough in inspecting the suspected damage and explained everything to my husband. After inspecting the property, he recommended that we not take any action at this time. Wow! It's rare that you find someone who places doing the right thing over making the sale. We are very impressed with the integrity and professionalism of Herbie and the company. We are very thankful for such a great experience as first time homeowners. John McClung Roofing will now be our first and only call for any roofing needs that arise in the future.

I called three roofing companies.  One was too busy.  The second one came and said would email estimate next day. Not heard from again even though I phoned.  John McClung responded immediately and did the job on time and professionally.  I would trust them to do any roofing job.

Great process, start to finish.  Jesse was our coordinator:  John Paul our project foreman.  Both men extremely polite and professional.  Everyone shows up when they say and the project was done on time.  The only B here is because sometimes it takes an extra call to Jesse.  We feel this really isn't his fault: he's tremendously busy this time of year, his phone never stops ringing.  Just know to give a reminder here and there...  he WILL get back to you.  Great communication from everyone once the project was started.

Extra Praise:
     We had skylights installed at the same time, so the inside work had to be coordinated with the outside job.  McClung's crew was very good about working with, and around, the interior contractor.  We threw a couple of curveballs and they responded well.  Always courteous, adjusting things when necessary.  We were impressed.   
     Two thirds of the roof was on when rain started to move in.  The crew worked until 9pm to finish what needed to be done.  Then someone came back and worked until 10pm, making sure everything was tacked down and the tarp was on well.  Jesse called the next morning to make sure we were dry on the inside.  Nice touch.
     McClung's uses Rhino something-or-other instead of regular felt (tarpaper).  Do your research:  it's better.  We asked our other estimates if they'd use it and were told the price would go up.  McClung came in right where our other 4 estimates did and they only use Rhino.
     We think it's worth mentioning that we got our estimate in April and, due to this and that, didn't go through with the project until August.  Jesse picked right up where we left off, and McClung's honored the price quote 4 months later.  They also moved us up, since we had an obvious leak by this time.  Thanks, Jesse.
Bottom Line:  Great company, great crew, great product.  We're happy!

Herbie took his time and looked at all the possible sources of the leak, including crawling into my attic.  He diagnosed the problem as being with the rock chimney.  The mortar needs to be replaced.  He recommended a person to do the work.  Once the mortar as been replaced, he will return and seal the chimney with ClearGuard, giving me a reasonable quote.  I am proceeding with the plan he proposed.

He did okay. There was one problem I had with him. I thought he was supposed to do like the gabling things and stuff, and he said that it was not in his estimate. He said that he did not do that, but the people that were out here that did the job for me said that they could give me an estimate for it. It was kind of confusing. I was satisfied with the job though. I would tell people that they need to make sure and check that they have everything down on their little proposal paper that they get to match up with what they wanted.  

I received an estimate and then ended up giving them the job. They were on time and the roofers worked fast and hard.
They only stopped for lunch. They finished ahead of time and did a great job of cleanup. They were extremely accomodating.

The shingles of the roof in a house I had only recently bought were literally falling off, thanks to a woefully improper previous installation and three subsequent catastrophic wind storms. John McClung and his team not only stopped by on the spur of the moment for an emergency repair and provided a comprehensive and accurate estimate, but also --and significantly-- made a point of fitting the job into their schedule on an emergency basis, within ten days of their initial visit. This was critical: several other roofers, one insurance adjuster, and a house inspector, as well as McClung, all concured that the next wind storm or heavy rain would cause considerable damage. The team was prompt, friendly, efficient, clean, and quick, completing the work in a day and a half. The shingles have a thirty-year warranty, the workship a lifetime warranty. I am exceedingly appreciative and strongly recommend them.

They were very professional and my roof looks great. I had serious issues with my insurance company and John McClung Roofing worked with me every step of the way to give the insurance company the information they needed. They whole crew was very polite and they worked quickly but very efficiently to get the job done in spite of the July heat. They cleaned everything up very well. I would highly recommend them.
