"The reviewer forgot to mention that he brought in 5 camera items, the repairs of which totaled $400. They were brought to us the first week in August 2013, and picked up the first week in September 2013. His 40 year old Mamiya RB67 needed an internal cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. His rotary film back adapter needed light seals replaced, and 3 large lenses needed internal cleaning. These 40 year old lenses for a medium format film camera sell on Ebay from $70 to $175 each, a fraction of what they were new. We worked up an estimate of around $95 to $120 to clean each lens, which he approved. Having cleaned thousands of lenses over the years, we always warn of dust or fungus that we might find is inaccessible once work starts. There could be some fungus between elements that would cost far beyond the value of his lens to remove. In that case we always adjust the charge accordingly or don't charge at all. If the majority of dust can be cleaned, we charge the estimated amount upon approval of the customer. In this case the customer found a speck or two in each of his 3 lenses. We told him we'd make every effort to remove what he saw, but in any case they were cosmetic and wouldn't show in his photos. He paid for all five repairs, and came back a week later to pick them up. As far as anyone can remember, including my wife who waited on him, he didn't express concern when he picked up and that's the last we heard from this customer, no subsequent complaint or request for adjustment to this date, which is why we're dumbfounded by his negative review. Our six month guarantee would have covered any problem he had, but no word from him after 6 months. We're not sure what can be learned from his review."
