On the first comment above, I bought the phone, service card and protection plan for the phone on a Friday, and wanted to port my current phone number to the new phone. My old phone had stopped working ( or worked intermittently) and I didn't want to buy a new one and thought I would switch to a new provider if I am going to get a new phone anyway. They said it would take 2 business days to port, and I would know it was successful when the new phone started working. By the following Wednesday, the phone still wasn't working. Customer service was still no help through Straight talk. They requested the exact same info I had already given them. I'd had enough and took the phone back to Walmart, and they gave me my money back except the $45.00 service card because it had been activated. I told them of course it had been activated, how else would I get the service started. Walmart told me they no longer would accept these cards that had been activated as it was their policy. I asked to speak with the Manager. No manager came but they did supposedly call the desk and talked to the associate. I never got to speak with a manager, but the associate said that their policy was to not accept the cards. She recommended I get in touch with a Manager at "Straight talk" and refuse to speak with anyone except a manager. I stated, "Well that is just what I tried to do here, and you didn't allow me to speak to a manager".
On the second comment, I was carrying a large paper shredder I had just bought out of Walmart, and had stuck my receipt in my pocket. No alarm had gone off, but a Walmart associate came running after me telling me he needed to see my receipt. I told him no he didn't and why does he think he does? I also asked him what would he do if I didn't show him the receipt and he said he had to see it. So I gave him the other receipt in my pocket that was from Lowes where I had just stopped at before Walmart. I guess he didn't notice the name at the top nor what was listed. I've since learned it is voluntary to show your receipt. I also told the associate there are other retailers to shop at and I would be doing so from now on. He just said he was sorry to hear that.
