LOWE'S

I grew an affinity to Lowe's when I lived in Charlotte and have had good experiences with Lowe's in other locations. The Lowe's Bozeman is worthless. We had a terrible, terrible experience all around from Kim, the store manager, down to most of the crew. It's ironic that the tagline is Never Stop Improving. After placing an order for a master bath remodel of over $5,000, we are set back at least 5 weeks on our project due to Lowe's and are in jeopardy of not finishing it before our twin babies arrive. Please, please think twice before you partner with Lowe's on anything beyond picking up a basic hammer from Lowe's Bozeman. Here is a list of the major issues we had: - Were not called when the last item in our order arrived. I went in to find out that the last item had arrived the day before and their call system must have failed to make the call. - While I was told that all items from our order, including cabinets, had arrived, they had not. Some items missing from the order are even carried in stock. Why they did not pull them aside in the month they had to gather the whole order is beyond me. - I checked twice before coming to pick up the order to make sure all items were in and the items would be ready for me to pick them up. When we arrived at Lowe's, not only were some of the items missing and damaged, but it took over 2 hours to get the items that were there. - The tub, which took 4 weeks to get in, was damaged. Lowe's had not discovered this until they put it on our trailer and then the reps said fiberglass tubs ordered through Lowe's are always damaged and that's why they don't encourage it. Nice to know that after I placed the order and planned a timeline based on that. They also indicated they don't inspect items that come in a closed box. Um, the box had holes and tears in it and the cardboard top was laid on top of the box and fell off three times as they loaded it in the trailer. Some reps told me receiving was really good and should have discovered it and some kept to the story that they don't open boxes. - Customer service was HORRIBLE. Almost every rep I have worked with at Lowe's has been grossly undertrained and incapable of doing their job. From Kim, the store manager, Wicky, the assistant manager to Lee, the plumbing manager. I can say that Jeff, one of the store managers, was nice and pleasant, but did not know how to help me and could not figure out how to return two items that were part of the damaged tub. That took over 20 minutes alone with a receipt and he had to enlist two people to help. Mary in cabinets was great to work with. I'm sorry she gets pulled down by Kim the store manager and Wicky the assistance manager. I still have yet to hear from them to resolve the issue or notify me of missing items or items not received and in the meantime, I've ordered from local vendors (Mountain Supply for our tub), online vendors (lightingdirect.com and faucetdirect.com) and Home Depot in Bozeman to fulfill my order. I will be returning as many items as possible to Lowe's. DON'T GO TO LOWES BOZEMAN if you need a dependable vendor and partner for your remodel project.
