SUN COAST AUTO SALES

My wife asked  about a car on the lot.  The salesperson did not offer us a test drive or open the car to let us look inside.  She brought us inside and seated us at her desk.  She looked up the price and mileage and then began to ask for information and filled out a form. I questioned her in the purpose of the form and the purpose of the information she requested.  She assured us if was just for her information.  We provided the information she asked for but it seemed more detailed than the normal contact sheet a salesperson would fill out.  After working on the form she signed it, turned it around, showed us the total price.  The salesperson then asked my wife to sign the form.  I thought that was odd since we hadn't driven the car  or even been inside it.  We definitely had not agreed on a price yet.  We were nowhere near reaching an agreement, and there was no reason to sign anything.  At that point I looked at the form in more detail and saw that it was a buyer's order form for the vehicle, stating that it was an offer "to purchase the vehicle described herein on the terms and conditions specified". It further stated that when signed by the sales manager it became "a binding and enforceable contract."  We declined to sign. The salesperson again tried to get my wife to sign, saying it was just routine paperwork for her information.  At that point we began to feel uncomfortable and we left.  We won't be going back.  We bought elsewhere.
