I brought my Ranger to this shop for an oil change and to get my AC looked at. The AC was freezing up during my commute to and from work. I wasn't home 15 minutes when the manager called me telling me my AC was freezing up. I said OK, but why? He tells me that I cannot run my AC on MaxAC for an extended period of time because that will freeze it up. HELLO!! I told him that MaxAC only recirculated the air in the vehicle cabin and does not have any effect on the compressor. He asserts I am wrong so I picked up my truck paid for the oil change and left. At another shop I had them look at my AC, it was found that the low-side pressure switch had burned up so the compressor was continuously running and freezing up. This was a $100 repair so I went back to the Car Care Clinic and showed the manager the burned up switch. His response was well I could have told you that...but that is NOT what he told me! For the record, since this happened in June, I have ran my AC on MaxAC all the time and it has not frozen up at all. Don't go to this clinic for anything, they are a bunch of doofuses who don't know anything about cars.
