The project went exceptionally well. Joe worked with us from the very beginning to develop a design that fit our entire family's needs and budget. He was incredibly open, honest, and patient. He was patient with us during every decision and went above and beyond to make sure we were educated and happy about each decision. We had multiple planning sessions, visited the cabinet retailer several times, and went together to pick out counter tops. He was on top of the permitting process (other contractors we spoke with were going to skip permits entirely) and worked with us to make sure our smoke detectors were up to code. He maintained a clean work site, all of the subcontractors were very professional, and the final work looks great!

Premier Home Design & Remodeling, LLC continues to provide me with the most professional home repair and remodeling services in St. Louis County. Joe Moehlenhoff, Owner, recently replaced and painted the exterior facade of my home. His work is excellent and worth the cost.

Experience wasn't good. Our personalities didn't match. I told him what I wanted and he kept pushing me to get something else. I wanted tile flooring and he said, oh no, I've got the best flooring for you. All my other customers love this flooring and this is what you should go with. We just didn't get along.

Joe is not the guy to hire if you want cheap and fast. But if you are in the market for a quality job, with all expenses and changes well documented and a contractor who keeps in constant contact with with you, Joe is your guy. He made sure we were in the driver's seat for decisions, but gave great advice on pros and cons. We ended up with a new master bath that we love.

Joe and his team skilled professionals did a fabulous job on our master bath gut, redesign and remodel. After dissatisfaction on another project completed by a previous contractor, we put off our bathroom remodel as we were not confident in finding a trustworthy contractor (with honest opinions) that would provide quality results and also be patient with us during our product selections. Joe will be completely upfront, he will not be the cheapest bit, but I'm a firm believer QUALITY over quantity and quality was the end result in our project. I'm so glad we waited because we found Premier Home Design and Remodeling!! I wish we would have found him earlier. We could not be happier and we love our new bathroom!!!!

We suffered from a sewage backup and the mitigation company tore up our kitchen including kitchen’s subfloor. We had to block that area using curtains because we don’t want anyone fall down there to the basement and break a leg! I called Joe for an estimate and he came out the same day. His guys put in the subfloor in a week. It was a great pleasure working with Joe. He accompanied us to various vendors and helped up picking out our cabinets, flooring and countertop. Everything matches very well. I changed my idea on the design several times and Joe has been very accommodating. His guys clean up the job site everyday so it was pleasant to live in the house during the construction. He is great with my dog. And the end product was stunning! We absolutely love our new kitchen. It looks like those in the catalog.

We are so happy with our new kitchen and basement!!! They are gorgeous and it didn't break the bank. Premier Home Design & Remodel did an AMAZING job. They are the best at what they do and I am not kidding. We've remodeled 2 bathrooms and a number of outdoor projects in the past with other companies, and nothing else even comes close. Joe kept us updated on the status of all aspects of both projects, which had many moving pieces and they cleaned up every single day. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. In addition, Joe would even find things that we wouldn't have noticed and brought subcontractor's managers back to bring it up to his high standards. We love Joe and his team and couldn't recommend a company more.

In 2015, our home suffered flood damage as a result of a faulty hose behind our main floor washing machine. As a result, we suffered a complete loss of our main level flooring, kitchen cabinets, appliances and half bath. In the Interim of working with the Insurance company, we were introduced to several contractors who purported to be able to complete our repairs. Upon closer review, these contractors where ?lowest bidder? caliber solutions who left us sorely unconvinced they would complete the repairs in the manner in which we wanted.
After a somewhat lengthy and arduous process of looking for the right contractor, we were introduced to Joe Moehlenhoff of Premier Home Design. From the begging we knew that Joe was the right choice. Start to finish, Joe was there in person and on site to completely clarify the process and explain what our expectations should be. His years of experience and guidance helped us turn the creative vision we had for our home into a breathtaking reality.
Once our project started, Joe and his people were extremely expedient in their work. Every day, we came home and were amazed and how much had been completed through the course of that day. Also surprising was how clean it was after the end of each day. We have all heard the horror stories of how messy a remodel can be and it was extremely refreshing to come home to a clean house after a long day at work.
As Premier Home Designs? name suggests, materials and craftsmanship were of the finest quality. Joe has been doing this for a long time and has surrounded himself with an amazing cast of the finest vendors and craftsmen in the area. The attention to detail and pride in the work is clearly evident with Premier Home Design.
We were so pleased with the work, we are planning to have the second floor of our home soon and we will definitely have Joe do the work. Whether doing a remodel or a restoration, you owe it to yourself to talk to Joe Moehlenhoff of Premier Home Design. You will not be disappointed.

We had the pleasure of working with Joe from Premier Home Design. During the planning stage of the remodel I was able to ask all of my "What if  we did this" questions and Joe was able to give me an approximate price. He listened to my design ideas and understood what mattered to me. Premier Home Design took the time to design my perfect kitchen. I have been in my kitchen for a few weeks now and I can not be happier with the convenience of the configuration. Joe made sure my husband and I understood how the payments worked and gave us a start date. He was on time and Happy every morning. My kids and I looked forward to greeting him and finding out what the plan was for the day. My kids miss Joe, he made the remodel fun for them. My little boy was so happy to get his hard hat and tools and go work with Joe (which meant pounding on the walls in the Lower level). Joe and his team where fast, pleasant  and tidy. They cleaned every night and their work space was tidy during the day. Joe puts safety first and made sure to tell me about anything that might be harmful to my children. He is kind and caring. I didn't think we would find that in a contractor but Joe is one in a million. Everyone he brought to our home was kind, professional, clean and I felt comfortable with them in my home and around my children. They where also very good at what they did. As a result my home is Beautiful!! Through out the remodel I had design ideas and "what if" questions Joe was patient and answered all my questions. Premier Homes Design and remodel is great company and I thank them for making our remodel fun and my home beautiful.

Joe Moehlenhoff, the owner of Premier Home Design and Remodeling, is simply amazing!  He made our dream kitchen come true.  He handled everything very professionally from the very beginning.  After we met with him for the first time, he drew up plans and drawings that reflected exactly what we told him we wanted.  He gave us a fair price, a list of the products that would be used, and a timeline that gave us an idea as to how the project would proceed.  One of the things I liked the best was that he accompanied us when we had to pick out things like flooring and cabinets.  He was adaptable enough to help us make changes where necessary to the plan.  For example, when he sensed that I became less comfortable with the original plan for countertops, he figured out a way that we could get an upgrade at little extra cost.  It became my favorite part of the remodel.  I also appreciated the fact that I could call him at any time and he was ready to solve any problem we had.  I learned early in the process to trust him to handle any issues that came up.
Joe is truly a remarkable person.  He is knowledgeable, experienced, and creative.  He is personable, down-to-earth, and relates well to his customers.  Best of all, he is always polite, thoughtful, and extraordinarily kind.  He is exactly the kind of support you need when you are going through such a life-changing experience. 
I almost didn't want to write this review because I'm afraid he'll be too busy as a result in case we ever need him for another project.  But I have to be fair and honest enough to say that we are so grateful to Joe for helping us with this project that we would highly recommend him to anyone considering an upgrade in their home.  One request:  he's such a nice guy -- please be kind to him!

The bid Joe gave us was in line with the other bid we received, but we were impressed with his attention to detail during the home visit.  We wanted to enlarge the shower if we could, and he examined not just the bathroom, but adjoining rooms to talk to us about the possibilities of enlarging the shower.  At one point, he drilled holes in the shower wall to see inside and determine whether we could or not.  (We couldn't.)  His knowledge of construction is excellent.  He guided us in every aspect of the project- from choosing the vanity to the floor.  At the same time, he was willing to do whatever we wanted to do as long as he could according to the rules and regulations of our city and the county.  And he was very patient answering questions we had about materials and possibilities of making slight adjustments here and there. 
Joe is very friendly, and communication between Joe and us was great.  He was conscientious of changes to our project and always kept us apprised of additional costs or savings.  We always knew when Joe was scheduled to come and work, and we knew what work was going to be done that day.  He kept us informed about the schedule and calendar.  If there was a problem, he fixed it to our satisfaction. We often heard him say, "You're the boss." 
We only had one issue about the length of time it took to complete the project.  Demolition began around Memorial Day and the project ended the last week in July.  We ran into a few bumps along the way which delayed progress on the bath, one of which was tiling the shower.  The original subcontractor installed the tile, but could not return until August (!) to grout.  In the meantime, we discovered some problems with the glass accent tiles.  Joe came over, was able to fix the problems, and did the grouting himself (and remaining tiling and grouting around the tub).  He fussed over the grout until he was satisfied with it. 
The bathroom looks great!  We are very happy with the way it turned out.  Even though we could not enlarge the shower, it looks larger with the vertical tile, vertical accent glass, and the taller shower doors.  Joe's flooring guy and glass guy are great and the plumber Joe had knew his stuff, too.  All in all, it was good experience. 
 
 

We are very pleased with our new kitchen.  Joe knows the products very well and made some excellent recommendations.  We had planned on using ceramic tile for the flooring but Joe recommended the new premium vinyl tile for the flooring and we absolutely love it.  We wished we would have used it for our upstairs bathrooms that we tiled last year.  The painter did an excellent job with the cabinets.  They look new again.  We looked at various suppliers for a grey subway tile for the back splash but no one carried the size we needed.  Joe found it for us and we are so glad that we did not just settle for white.  His tile installers also did an excellent job.

We love our new bathroom.  We had a bathroom built in the 1980's.  Joe gutted the whole thing and worked to meet our design needs.  We took the bathtub out!  and enlarged the shower and now we have a seat.
The process took a little longer than I would have liked, but it's just a slower process to get it right sometime. Joe is conscientious and always wants to make sure the customer is satisfied.  Joe always communicated well with us and informed us what was happening and when.  We love the outcome!

Joe total remodeled our half bath. They took down the sheet rock, added insulation and worked with the flooring company (that Joe recommended). He replaced the toilet, lighting and vanity/sink.  I received a few bids. I had no doubt that Joe would do the best job and his price was right in line with the others. I was so pleased. Joe took care of every detail. His workers  were very professional and thoughtful to keep things clean as the went. I would highly recommend Joe and would use them again if the opportunity arises.

Joe Moehlenhoff did a fantastic job.  I love my new bathroom!  Joe's bid was not the lowest, but I chose his company because I had confidence Joe thoroughly understood what I wanted in the bathroom and would deliver a quality product.  My confidence was well placed.  Throughout the project, there was excellent communication about scheduling, progress, etc.  Joe was always accessible by phone on the rare occasions he wasn't on site.   Joe was quick to discuss unexpected issues and creative in finding solutions.  The quality of the work was outstanding.  The work area in both the bathroom and garage was cleaned up every day before leaving my house.  I could not be happier with the remodeled bathroom!

My new kitchen is gorgeous!  Joe was extremely helpful from start to finish.  His estimate was extremely detailed and well laid out.  Once work started, I was kept updated on the status every step of the way.  He met with me and the various vendors which helped me stick closely to my budget.  There were a few costs over the budget but that had to do with issues found after gutting the original kitchen.  Joe showed me the issues and offered solutions with associated costs so I could make informed decisions.  All of the work was done to the highest standards.  It was very exciting to watch the transformation.  The attention to detail was amazing.  I can't say enough good things about my experience with Premier Home Design and Remodeling.  I would definitely recommend them and would use them again

Our bathroom remodeling went very smoothly.  Our house was built in the 1980's and the hall bathroom really needed a facelift.  Joe, the owner of Premier, made the process fairly painless. We remodeled the entire bathroom except for the vanity, including:  bathtub, shower, floor, lighting, counter-top, faucets, tile.    Joe guided us through the entire process, did everything he said he would do, was always very prompt and courteous, flexible, knowledgeable, and the work performed was excellent.    Everything was completed on time.  We would definitely use this company again.

During the visit of Joe to see our current bathroom and learn of what we wanted, we were disappointed in several ways.  We said we wanted framed mirrors in the same wood and stain of the cabinets, Joe said that cabinet manufacturers don't make framed mirrors and I would have to find mirrors on my own (he later explained that he only meant that the cabinet maker he used does not make framed mirrors but others do, which we soon learned when we talked to other contractors).  We said that we might want frameless glass for our shower doors, and he said that was way too expensive and to go with framed glass.  We said that we might want a whirlpool tub, and he said that was way too expensive, we would have to have a heater and heater wiring, etc.  We asked about the cabinets, and he said that the cabinets that he used were good, but after we signed the contract, that he would take us to a place that displays all the cabinets -- the implication to me was after we signed the contract and then went and looked at cabinets we would find something we liked better which would be more expensive, and therefore the contract price would go up.  The bid was several thousand dollars more than other bids.  Many comments on Angie's List say what a great job Joe and his crew does when they actually do the work.  However, for us, Joe's company was definitely not a good fit.
